Good Morning All, I am building a new 2016 RDS Farm on VMware. When the users log into the RemoteApps section is makes them accept the AUP on the Web Access Server. SO... long story short I need to disable the AUP policy appearing on this server and want to do it via Group Policy anyone know where this GP is? I cannot seem to find it. Thanks

I'm looking at installing a 2016 DC in our network but when checking that everything is running smoothly before proceeding I'm seeing lots of schannel 36886 warnings on the current DC's (2012r2). We don't have an enterprise CA, can I ignore them or do I need to investigate further and what would be the best way to do this.

Wondering if someone can advise, as I have never come across/dealt with this before. We have a Server 2012 host, hosting two Server 2016 virtual machines. The VMs have been veeeeeery slow lately, I noticed the physical drive on the host (D drive) only has about 20gb of storage left, it's where the VHD files are stored etc.... eek. I know that deleting anything on the VMs won't free up any space on the host so my thought was to shrink each virtual drive on our VMs. Can anyone else advise? Thanks!

How many have taken the plunge and gone fully server 2016 and windows 10 as its coming up to the new financial year and we are looking at upgrading from server 2008 any huge headaches? smooth installs etc

Hello, I've inherited an SCCM server 1803, I've created a new task sequence to deploy Win 10 1903, there an existing TS to deploy 1803, they're both set to deploy to unknown workstations. Here's were it goes strange, I can pxe boot a PC that sees the original TS but not the new one I can PXE another PC and it shows both...... I can pxe a VM server which shows the System center PXE splash screen but shows NO TS's then reboots after 30 seconds. What am I missing?????? Thanks in advance

Hi, I'm finally getting round to testing Windows 10 and read a lot of threads on here but I was wondering if anyone has any tips and advise in regards to base images (Staff and Pupils) GPO Settings to use, features to remove, Start Menu, programs to install etc. So far I've installed Windows 10 Education 64-Bit V1809 using a DVD and all drivers have been installed which is a good start! Eventually I intend to roll it out using SCCM but for now I'll build a few test machines and let staff "test" them. I'm also introducing a 2016 Server which will be our new DC. Has anyone had issues adding a 2016 Server to a 2008/12 Domain? Should I create new 2016 GPO's for Windows 10 and Server 2016 PC's and Servers? Any info would be appreciated!! Thanks a lot

Hi, First post on here. I have been having an issue on our school server with it completing backups. Originally the server was running 2012 and using Windows Backup. This caused an issue where every few days when it was saving the hyper v it would just hold and not complete the jobs and make all the virtual machines stop working. The only way I have found to correct this is to restart the DC! Since then I have clean installed the server to 2016 and installed veam. All seemed fine but the same error is back! On veam I can see it holds at the creating VSS Snapshots and 14 hours later when I login to check it is still running this bit. I have run vss list writers and all permissions are fine none have failed. There also seems to be no pattern it will pass for days and then randomly fail, or pass for days then fail on consecutive days. Its driving me mad and the school! Any help would be appreciated. Hi Guys yet another random DPM issue. Everything was working fine two days ago, nothing has changed im just suddenly getting the following problem. I just updated the SIMS server from 2008r2 to 2012 by accident (supposed to be 2012r2), So decided to update again to 2016 upon which I was told that it is not recommended! oh well a few issues including no remote desktop but SIMS is ok!

We are trying to change the restriction status for all students in PaperCut (version 18.3.1 on Server 2016, synced with AD) and it is not applying. We go to bulk user actions, select the student group and tick the box to change restriction. When we click OK, we get a message that the group operation has started and to see the progress window. This is great, only nothing is happening and there is no window - even tried turning off pop-up blocker just in case. It allows me to change the user credit in bulk but not their restriction status. This issue has stumped out MPS provider and apparently even papercut themselves. Has anyone ever seen anything like this? Hi guys, im looking into possibly virtualizing our DPM server. We currently have a physical 2016 server hosting DPM 2016 with SQL 2012r2. (we upgraded from DPM 2012r2 to 2016) We have 2 Powervault MD1200s attached for the storage and a Powervault 124T for the tapes. Has anyone got their DPM setup virtualized and if so, could let me know how they did it or point me in the direction of any guides. Hi, Just a quick question regarding a new server. If you had the option, would you double the memory in your servers? I have had a quote for a new physical server with 2 processors that comes with 16gb memory. The server is going to host 2 vm's, the school file server and SIMS server. 2 processors should be fine, its the memory that I can't make my mind up on right now. The 2 servers are currently on their own physical server right now and are showing their age. Should I go with 16gb for the whole new system or for an extra £200 get 32gb in total? Or is 32gb overkill for a large infant school?

Changed from automatically assigning IP to manually assigning a few different free IPs with the relevant settings for subnet mask, DNS servers, gateway etc and this still didn't work. Another thread recommended uninstalling the network interfaces and then scanning for hardware changes which solved a similar issue, but that did not work in my case either. Any suggestions?

Hi I am trying to install rds on server 2016 on a new server. This is connected to our domain but is not a dc. It keeps failing with the following. Remote Desktop Seervices role services: Failed: the activity has exceeded the specified maximum running time of 1800 seconds. Sessions collection. Cancelled RemoteApp programs. Cancelled. Does anybody have any ideas why this is failing? Thanks in advance

I have a windows server 2016 with a domain .local for a friend in small academy organization. There are roughly 20 users. Recently, he bought a new domain .academy and he wants to migrate the domain of on-site server 2016 from .local to academy. He also wants to change the background picture. He also wants to block USB on domain computers. I prefer to format the server since the number of users are limited and no data on the server. What do you suggest please? I appreciate IT expert recomendation in this matter.

Hi, I am trying to set up folder redirection of the documents folder for all users. Now im sure that if i have \\servername\share\%username% as the home folder path and set up documents redirection i will end up will all the folders being renamed as Documents. One of the things Microsoft recommends is to create all home folders like the following \\servername\share\%username%\Documents which would work fine but when i put that into the profile settings for each user then it complains that it cant find the file path. Ad will create the file path if the location ends with the %username% but apparently not when you add another folder like 'Documents' after it. Short of crating something that creates the file path first, is there anyway i can do this? Thanks Mik
