Hi guys got a really bizarre one, so i need to restore a users mailbox from a recovery database. Recovered database from DPM, did all the clean shutdown, creation, mounting and all that. but i can not for the life of me find this mailbox, ive gone back 3 months prior to the mailbox being deleted, i can see every other mailbox ive deleted, literally every one, except the one i need! all log files came back ok, when i ran eseutil before i created the recovery database. I got no errors during the entire process. Its just so odd that i cant even find the mailbox from month backups that i know for a fact it was definitely in! and i already checked with HR, no name change at any point either. Has anyone ever had something like this before or have any suggestions for logs to look at or commands to run, maybe something im missing, this is my first time doing anything like this with exchange (Exchange 2013 on server 2012r2) -Vicky Sir Christopher Hatton Academy

Ok, thanks, ive re created the share and set the permissions i think it needs, have to see what happens. I did try a restart but it didnt bring the share back. Ive tried re running the job in DPM, but it just sits there it doesnt even try to re build the catalog, so im not sure if re creating the share has worked yet :/

Hi guys, Been having a lot of issues with our DPM server. Basically i had Microsoft support remote on to take a look at a separate issue. The tech emptied the temp folder which removed the MTA folder. I had no idea this folder was in there until i got back into work from the weekend to see all the tape backups had failed. After a quick Google search i found out this MTA folder is needed during tape backups so re created it and the tape backups ran. Now im getting the following warning. The backup tape job completed, but the catalog was not built correctly for although no data was lost, you must rebuild the catalog to access the data of the backup job (ID 3312) file copy failed due to an I/O error. Source location:\\\MTATempStore$\file.mbc Destination location: C:\program files\microsoft system center 2012 r2\DPM\DPM\Temp\file.mbc The network name cannot be found. Ive looked at the active shares on the server and it turns out the MTATempStore$ share is missing. Does anyone know how i recreate this share and what permissions i need to use, or if this is even the issue, anyone seen this before? -Vicky It Technician Sir Christopher Hatton Academy

Hi guys, im looking into possibly virtualizing our DPM server. We currently have a physical 2016 server hosting DPM 2016 with SQL 2012r2. (we upgraded from DPM 2012r2 to 2016) We have 2 Powervault MD1200s attached for the storage and a Powervault 124T for the tapes. Has anyone got their DPM setup virtualized and if so, could let me know how they did it or point me in the direction of any guides. What are the advantages/disadvantages of having DPM as a virtual machine Thank you! -Vicky Tofield IT service desk supervisor Hatton Academies Trust

Hi guys. I've set up a new 1706 SCCM server and have created my first task sequence. However the task sequence is failing with the error code 0x80070002, its showing this error during the applying operating system image stage viewing the smsts.log in CMTrace, I'm getting the following error, which has the error code I'm getting in the line of it, but I've had no luck finding a solution online. ShellExecute ('raserver.exe') failed. 0x80070002. TSPxe 12/04/2018 10:43:11 1412 (0x0584) I keep seeing info regarding the network access account in relation to this particular error code, but that's all configured in the console help! -Vicky Tofield IT technician Sir Christopher Hatton Academy

Hi guys current setup server 2012r2, SQL 2012 and DPM 2012r2 Trying to upgrade to DPM 2016 and getting the following error You cannot upgrade the existing installation because the DPM database version does not match with installed DPM version. Ensure correct SQL data files are copied from an existing DPM SQL instance and attached to the given SQL instance, then run the program again In the past ive had to restore the database from our secondary DPM server so im guessing that has something to do with it maybe? ive no idea what SQL data files its on about either Any help would be greatly appreciated! and if you need any further info let me know! regards -vicky Tofield IT Tech at Sir Christopher Hatton

unfortunately we upgraded from DPM 2012r2 and kept the legacy storage so i cant create any new protection groups due to ReFS. I ran a chkdsk and SFC on the server just because i know that sometimes fixes MMC crashes, restarted the host that had the VM i was trying to backup and its magically working now. So problem solved for now... appreciate the suggestions -vicky

Hi MYK-IT no recent windows updates, or group policy changes, firewall is off, ive checked the services and they are all running. looking in the error logs, MSDPMCurr.errlog, this seems to be the main issue everettexception.cpp(762) CRITICAL Exception Message = Replica Set already present with properties not matching input requirements of type System.ArgumentException, process will terminate after generating dump but im not having much luck finding out what that means
