Hi, I'm finally getting round to testing Windows 10 and read a lot of threads on here but I was wondering if anyone has any tips and advise in regards to base images (Staff and Pupils) GPO Settings to use, features to remove, Start Menu, programs to install etc. So far I've installed Windows 10 Education 64-Bit V1809 using a DVD and all drivers have been installed which is a good start! Eventually I intend to roll it out using SCCM but for now I'll build a few test machines and let staff "test" them. I'm also introducing a 2016 Server which will be our new DC. Has anyone had issues adding a 2016 Server to a 2008/12 Domain? Should I create new 2016 GPO's for Windows 10 and Server 2016 PC's and Servers? Any info would be appreciated!! Thanks a lot

I am in the process of setting up sccm 2012 using the guide on windows-noob.com but have hit a problem with my pxe erroring with No Boot Image File Recieved, I have sccm 2007 running on my site already so have disable WDS on that server Description: Microsoft Windows PE (x86) Version: Creator: SystemDir: WINDOWS ]LOG]!> The operation completed successfully. (Error: 00000000; Source: Windows)]LOG]!> Unspecified error (Error: 80004005; Source: Windows)]LOG]!> PackageID: RHQ00005

Hiya ok so we finally decided to move from wds/mdt2012 to sccm2012 I understand with mdt you can use the unattend.xml to put in about the rearm, my question is where in sccm2012 can i get hold of the unattend, sccm makes when you make a task sequence or if its not in there where do i specify the rearm part as i will hate to brick another image 2 rearms into customising images. We have recently installed new SCCM 2012 with SQL 2012. After installing SCCM 2012 successfully it discovered only 40 machines instantly and all the users( 2505 ) in AD. We are unable to discover any other machine since the first discovery ( 40 PCs only ). All discovery methods are enabled. Anybody has the same issue or already resolved it before. We have also checked the system discovery logs. Please help to resolve the issue.

Hi All, My Name is Barry and I'm and new to the community. I am a System Administrator for a health insurance company. I am in charge of our managing/maintaining AD, Exchange, our virtual machines as well as our company Images for capturing and deploying. I'm pretty new to WDS/MDT and was wondering of anyone can assist or have any suggestions why I am getting the error below. I am stuck and cannot find anything online regarding the fix. I would hate to rebuild the gold Image if it is a bad Image. Windows script host error pops up at the end of task sequence deployment "Execution of the Windows Script Host failed. (Access is denied) Here's the senario Created a gold Win7 x64 bit (Dell Optiplex 7040 MFF) Sysprep machine and WDS to capture it Moved Wim to MDT deployment share Imported Wim to MDT Created task sequence I created many task sequences and Images with previous dell models and never came across the error. Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance, -Barry

I'm wanting some advice guys. Currently setting up a deployment share / server for our school so that i am able to deploy O/S and Applications centrally from my deployment server. in the past I just installed all applications and updates into an image file and deployed that through out school using WDS. as you know this isn't manageable /scalable as well as the image being huge! now want to move away from this and keep everything separate so its more manageable. My main goal here is to deploy software around school after the O/S deployment Currently using WDS (as mentioned) and MDT 2013 (only just started using this) most of out software is in exe format, some allow quiet switches and some don't want to know any switches! I have enquired about a software deployment tool that will install the software after the O/S deployment, and have been advised on SCCM 2012 I have no experience on SCCM and have had a look on a few YouTube videos and looks mind blowing. any advice. am I looking in the right area. would SCCM do the job for me? I want to get this right. Thanks

Hi, We're deploying software via SCCM 2012 which works just fine but we now need a way to patch a couple of programs (the patch just overwrites a few files). What I'd like to be able to do is somehow link the two together so it would install the initial program first and then patch it afterwards. Anyway to do this with SCCM? Thanks Ben
