I'm hoping someone can help me here. I am attempting to complete an offline deployment of our Windows 10 build to a tablet device. I have created all of the offline media by copying the entire deployment share to make sure nothing has been missed. I have mounted the .iso to an external drive using rufus to make it bootable. I am getting the following error after the installation of OS: Litetouch deployment failed, Return Code = -2147467259 0×80004005 CreateProcess failed. Code(0x80070002) Command line execution failed (80070002) Failed to run the action: Set-ExecutionPolicy Bypass. The system cannot find the file specified. (Error. 80070002; Source: Windows) The execution of the group (Postinstall) has failed and the execution has been aborted. An action failed Operation aborted (Error: 80004004; Source: Windows) Failed to run the last action: Set-ExecutionPolicy Bypass. Execution of task sequence failed. The system cannot find the file specified. (Error. 00000002; Source: Windows) Task Sequence Engine failed! Code: enExecutionFail Task sequence execution failed with error code 80004005 SetNamedSecurityInfo0 failed. SetObjectOwner failed. 0x80070005 ReqQueryValueExW is unsuccessful for Software\ Microsoft\5MS\ Task Sequence, SMSTSEndProgram GetTsRegValue0 is unsuccessful. 0x80070002. Error Task Sequence Manager failed to execute task sequence. Code 0x80004005 The step that is to be completed is as follows: Type: Run Command Line Command Line: powershell.exe -command "Set-ExecutionPolicy Bypass" This says to me that the deployment cannot find powershell.exe but this doesn't really make an awful lot of sense to me. It's not like it cannot find a script or a file because as you can see from the command it is not looking for a file but is supposed to be running a command via the PowerShell program. Any assistance would be greatly recieved.

Hi Guys, I am a complete newbie to SCCM, and I am trying to implement this in my test lab so I can learn how to implement and support it in the systems I look after. I have managed to successfully install SCCM, I am just wondering on what you guys do when it comes to device collection. For example, in my AD, my structure is Domain - School Name - Computers - User Type (Staff for example) - Staff Desktops or Staff Laptops. That is actually a really bad example of what I have just given, I hope it makes sense. Do you guys create your device collection for every OU folder you have in AD? The same applies to task sequences, how do you guys do your deployment sequences? Do you have a task sequence for each type of machine E.g Staff Laptop or just a generic "Deploy Windows 10" one? Again, I ask this because you can during the task sequence specify which OU to put the computer in. If I was to create this, it would take hours to create Device Collections and Task Sequences for each OU. Final question, do you let SCCM handle Windows Updates, or do you just still use a GPO to point your computers at WSUS? I am a bit confused with how the Windows Update feature works, does this mean each time an update is released I have to create an update package? I am sorry if this is explained terribly, I am completely new to SCCM. I will look forward to your replies. Best regards James

Hello! Thanks for checking out the post. Following Microsoft announcing that they do not support MDT for Win 11 and recommend using MECM for any deployments moving forward, I am struggling to get my head around how to set it up to deploy Win 11 to our PCs via PXE. Essentially we want to set up a like for like MDT replacement within MECM, but it seems easier said than done! We are a Multi Academy trust of 15 schools, and don't want to have to pull OS images and software all over the internet, but then don't want to manually copy and paste software and images everywhere if MECM will help distribute them across our schools. We also just need it to image over the network at the moment, don't want to deploy software via software centre or anything like that, just want to hit F12, boot to PXE and get list of task sequences to image PCs Does anyone have a similar set up in terms of a multi academy trust who is running MECM/SCCM who can give me an insight into how they have laid out the structure of MECM, in particular for for image deployment over PXE? Any help is much appreciated! Thanks

Hi all Here's one I'm trying to work out (and there has to be a way....it may just be a matter of finding it hehe).... When we rebuild a computer with a OS via SCCM, it creates a new resource ID during the process and the result is two computer resource objects in SCCM. You may think, whats the big deal? just get the old ones deleted automatically with that maintainance setting to remove obsolete (and other) resource objects. And you'd be right, however, thats fine when you dont need to / dont use SCCM to keep a inventory of your computers, but alas, we kind of need this system to do that, so I've got to find some decent way on how its possible. I've seen that in SMS 2003, there was a tool in their toolkit called "Transfer SMS ID", although I've not used it, the description says "Transfers SMS client ID (GUID) from one computer image to another. You can use this tool to help support asset management and to avoid data loss during re-imaging." The latter part of that sounds perfect, however, im just wonderings whether any of you good good people using SCCM have managed to figure out a way to do it, before I spent potentially countless hours figuring it out. Also using the Deployment Web Service too in order (very handy, and maybe if i dig, theres a way to do it via that). As normal, thoughts/ideas/complete noob guides welcome Cheers y'all. Nath.

We have recently installed new SCCM 2012 with SQL 2012. After installing SCCM 2012 successfully it discovered only 40 machines instantly and all the users( 2505 ) in AD. We are unable to discover any other machine since the first discovery ( 40 PCs only ). All discovery methods are enabled. Anybody has the same issue or already resolved it before. We have also checked the system discovery logs. Please help to resolve the issue.

Hello everyone, We are planning a move to windows 7 over the summer holiday 2010, our current solution for imaging computers is ghost 5.0, most of our computers are a pain to find dos drivers for and we have been having a load of problems with ghost lately so i want to get it replaced! can any one suggest some software so we can deploy windows 7 images over our network Requirements, would be nice if its free must be able to deploy windows 7 not run on Linux (not that i don't like Linux i just don't know it well) Sorry i forgot to say in my original post, I have a look at getting the latest Ghost suit but licencing is way to expensive!!! I will update original post
