Hi all, I have recently purchased NVIDIA RTX 3090 FE and as my current spec is very weak for such a good graphics card I want to get a new Intel 11th gen processor for which I need a new Motherboard and maybe RAM as well? My Current spec is Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 3 Intel Skylake ATX CPU: Intel Core i7 6700K 4.0GHz Graphics Card: NVIDIA RTX 3090 FE RAM: 16GB (2x8GB) 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 PSU: RMi Series RM1000i 1000W '80 Plus Gold' Modular PC is being used for gaming, Internet browsing, watching movies. Questions: 1. Which Intel 11th gen processor should I get? 2. Which gaming motherboard should I get? 3. Should I get new RAM as well? I want 16GB, any advise? I have already spent a lot on new graphics card and PS5 as well so do not want to spent a lot on those if possible. Thanks in advance

Hi, Been asked to spec a server for a average sized primary school. How would you spec this server? Processor? Ram? Don't want to go majorly overkill but do want enough power and 'futureproof' in the box for it to last. Are you able to recommend a server? Preferably a tower server due to the location! Many thanks

Hi, Just a quick question regarding a new server. If you had the option, would you double the memory in your servers? I have had a quote for a new physical server with 2 processors that comes with 16gb memory. The server is going to host 2 vm's, the school file server and SIMS server. 2 processors should be fine, its the memory that I can't make my mind up on right now. The 2 servers are currently on their own physical server right now and are showing their age. Should I go with 16gb for the whole new system or for an extra £200 get 32gb in total? Or is 32gb overkill for a large infant school?

Hi, I need to run a script on individual machines that'll not only tell me how much RAM said machines have, but how much is loaded into each slot and which slots (if any) are free. I found a great VBscript written by a Microsoft scripting guy but its downside was that although it worked, every time the script was run it overwrote the CSV file it was writing into. Maybe I was using it incorrectly but I kinda gave up on that one. I have also tried with Spiceworks which tells you how much RAM a machine has, but no information about DIMM slots. Has anyone else had to do this? Could anyone suggest a way of doing this please? I'm learning Powershell atm so anything PS based would be a huge bonus. many thanks

The computers at the school I work at are getting quite old and cranky and we often receive complaints of slowness. Does anybody know of any free software that could be used to test these machines and give reports on RAM/CPU/hard drive performance? Thanks in advance.

Hi All, Hope you don't mind me posting a personal post here, rather than educational, but I'm crazily puzzled. I've recently upgraded my PC from Windows 7 Ultimate to Windows 10 Pro. This went perfectly and all was great. I was running 2x 2GB DDR3 1333Mhz in a Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3 Motherboard. I have a Intel Core i5 661 3.33G s1156 processor on it. It's pretty old but was running pefectly. I then went to upgrade my RAM and then all sorts of trouble started. The RAM I'm trying to upgrade to is 2x 4GB DDR 1600Mhz, same motherboard and same processor. I've changed the motherboard's BIOS profile to use 1600Mhz for the RAM. Unfortunately now the operating system can't boot. It's recieved a nice blue screen with an unhappy face and numerous error messages. The error messages I've had so far are: PFN_List_Corrupt Kernal_Security_Check_Failure IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL I've tried Googling all of these, I've removed all USB connect devices that aren't nessessary and all sorted of BIOS settings but all to no avail. Anybody able to shed some light on where I may be going wrong please? Many Thanks, Andy

Basically i have setup my Deployment Share with 2 seperate task sequences one for Windows 7 Enterprise 32bit and one for 64bit both also have their own driver folder x86 and x64 respectively which they point to Bascially this is the only manual process (apart from name and OU which i want to keep manual) which i want to automate What i am trying to do is basically get MDT to query the amount of RAM that the machine currently has from the BIOS etc and point it to either 32bit if 3.5GB RAM or lower / 64bit task sequence if 4GB +?? Thanks Jack

I'm looking to increase the memory in my PC. Win7 Ultimate x64 bit currently has 2 x 2Gb of Kingston 800Mhz DDR2 Non ECC CL5, looking to double that. Quotes, or recommendations welcome.
