Reporting to the IT Operations Manager your focus will be supporting a wide range of technical systems associated with the clients multiple sites. A 3rd line support experience will be important to succeed in the role, as well as the ability to deliver technical training to staff on new and existing developments. Your day to day duties: ·Delivering support against day to day technical issues and liaising with 3rd party suppliers ·Taking over complex escalated issues passed on from support staff ·Travelling to various sites to conduct diagnostics, troubleshooting and quality assurance measures ·Updating and implementing site security policies, and creating maintenance documentation to cover multiple site facilities in addition to warranties and contracts ·Taking part in new project planning and development across the whole IT infrastructure ·Coordinating out of hours support for scheduled emergency and staff shortage scenarios ·Working with the IT Manager and key stakeholders to identify new systems and learning tools ·Driving personal continued professional development The role is varied, challenging and is a great environment for growth and progression. In your role as a Lead Technician for South West London, you will be joining a team of IT professionals in a collaborative effort to support technology requirements for UK schools and academies, as well as focusing on your allocated Academy. You will strive to maintain and improve IT standards across the board and play in lead role in maintaining the smooth running of IT services across the brand as well as overseeing the technical team. Reporting to the IT Service Manager, you will oversee the day to day running of the technical support service, focusing on performance and development of staff within the department. You will work closely with other staff to ensure a high level of service is provided to your allocated Academies. Your key responsibilities will be: · Working with the Service Manager to generate IT reports for your allocated Academy on a monthly basis, to assess performance against the agreed SLA’s · Line managing a team of technicians, providing further training and support as necessary · Overseeing the provision of ICT systems across the brand to ensure a satisfactory performance · Supporting the Service Manager in planning educational requirements, emerging technologies, affordability and financial planning · Implementing backup, security and recovery plans for your designated Academy · Maintaining up to date hardware asset registers · Scheduling testing and reporting for backups · Monitoring anti-virus / malware provisions and overall security of IT systems to ensure integrity of data, systems and resources · Managing active network components at your Academy and WAN links · Upgrading servers and installing operating system across multiple sites · Liaising with 3rd part suppliers and IT contractors during as required Person Specification: · Strong understanding of commercial IT policies, preferably within an education environment · Strong network troubleshooting experience in multi-site (large user base) environments · Security, firewall, safeguarding and health and safety experience (preferably within education) · It is preferable that the new post holder possesses Cisco / Microsoft Network Certifications such as CCNA or Windows equivalent · Knowledge of ITIL service desk operations in order to manage a successful service desk · Good knowledge of MS Office suite Active Directory administration experience TCP/IP and DNS support experience · Previous experience with the procurement of IT equipment and hardware · Local/Wide Area Networks and Wireless technologies As well as great responsibility, this position offers great reward for the successful candidate.
