Hi, we currently use an isa 2004 server to bridge the gap between our domain (172.16.*.*) and the cachepilot (10.8.160.*). we are using the isa firewall client to configure our clients for Proxy. in the past before the isa we could use the following details in the proxy IE settings to browse the net. 10.8.160.4 port 3128. but since the isa we cannot access it or ping it? but we can browse the web management page. therefore is there a way of allowing normal everyday access to the cachepilot without having to go via the isa firewall client route? thanks, ITHelp

I spend a lot of time working on websites and I have considering buying a second monitor as I don't have enough desktop to edit code in one window and view the result in a browser in another window without having to open/close windows. I decided to look for a software solution first and was surprised having a code editor and browser preview in the same space wasn't easy to find. I work with php/mysql and Dreamweaver 8, so the standard html preview approach Dreamweaver uses (don't know about the new version) doesn't work for me and it's php testing server launches in a new window. I tried Microsoft Expression and had no joy with that either. I am pleased to say I have been running Eclipse from eclipse.org for the last few days and it does exactly what I was looking for. Jumping between code and a browser preview is a tab away. I know it may not seem like a big deal, jumping between windows, but when you have done it for the 1000th time it saves on the rsi :-) I can tell as well that I am only scratching the surface with eclipse at the moment and I'm sure it will prove even more helpful in the future. I don't see it as a teaching tool to frighten students with but I am sure there are many here who already use it or may find it useful. Chris

Hi all, I *may* have landed myself a nice little job developing a CMS for somebody, however I've not done it before so was looking for some pointers from those of you that have. Based on what I've read here, I've set my initial fee at £200 for a CMS with up to 5 pages, with each additional page costing £20. I was thinking about a £25 flat rate for any changes in design after the initial setup (thought about giving a 1 week "cooling off" period where I'd do things like that for free - good idea?) Hosting will be provided by a reputable host; I'll recommend three (they'll want that for their VFM forms) and arrange for them to pay the host directly and pass on the login details to me. So far so good? Also, I was wondering if anybody could share any insight as to obstacles I may not have thought of? Is there a kind of generic service contract out there I can use as a basis to draw up my own contract? Appreciate any and all help!

I am migrating Eclipse .NET to a VM from a physical host which is to be retired. The re-installation of the server went swimmingly and the database conenction seemed to go fine. The database is till on its original server (which isn't due for retirement yet). The only problem is that I simply receive 'Service Unavailable' when I try to browse the Eclipse.NET pages Now IMHO this seems like a .NET problem or possibly just IIS being a bit of a pain. I have tried reinstalling IIS, the .NET frameworks and Eclipse.NET but it still doesn't work. I do get a couple of IIS/.NET related errors in the event log but these just mention performance data. The only other thing that is different is that I am now using Server 2003 Std x64 rather than Server 2003 Std x86. Surely this cannot be the problem though?

Assuming cost come back equal, which firewall + web filter would you deploy in your organisation tomorrow: Sophos XGS WatchGuard Fortinet Palo Alto Other We are currently investigating the list of vendors above for a multi site firewall project. If your chosen firewall provider isn't listed above, which would you choose and why? We would need the following functionality: Usual Firewall + Web Filtering Layer 7 App control DHCP server RADIUS accounting SD-WAN (site to site VPN) Interested to know everyone's thoughts. * disclaimer We are currently a Sophos XG house and we aren't unhappy with it, but we are not investigating the market to see if there is anything worth investigating. I'd be very interested to hear comments from those that moved from Sophos XG to something else and how they found the alternative. Usual grass isn't always greener...

Hi All, I have probably misfiled this but it seemed the most appropriate place... We use Exchange 2010 and have some calendars published to the web (that bit works ok...) We can subscribe to them as ical or display through Outlook Web App. HOWEVER - the Outlook Web App will only load Month view by default... we want Work-week (Monday-Friday) view by default... Does anyone know how we can achieve this? Alternatively, we're open to anything open source and free that we could install on a web-server which might sit between Exchange and displaying the calendars how we wish. Thanks Gareth

Hi, Because our old Ruckus 1000 controller wouldnt support the new and cheaper AP's, we recently got a new Ruckus Controller running the latest software.. and I set the whole network up again. The network is still going very well and the new model AP's seem rock solid (dont remember the model right now..), however I now cannot login to the controller's web interface.. It's on a static IP and I've power-cycled it a few times over the last 2 weeks.. It redirects me to a blank page with this URL: https://x.x.x.12/_.html (I've xx'd out the real IP) Luckily as I said, the network is still going fine. Anyone seen this before? ta Craig.

Hello, We are looking at moving away from out Local authority for internet/filtering and firewall. We currently have our internet provided by them and they deal with Firewall/filtering their end. The problem with this is proxies! We are going to start rolling out BYOD across selected years (currently 6th form) and having them connect to a student wifi and manually select the proxy when inside school and disconnect when at home is not practical. We are looking for a solution where No proxies (or be is visable proxies to the end user) On site filtering (websites etc) Firewall (ports, protocols etc that can be managed inside) We plan to use TMG to have all traffic going through this Lease line (100Mbs Up and Down that can be configured for users The idea is a student with his/her own device can connect to a wireless network (using AD credentials) and not have to type proxy address in. Need to find out what you use (SonicWall/SmoothWall/ etc) if its good, what is useful and how you do it. We have had a look at SonicWall which seems to be useful to us but would like to hear from current users before we complete the proposal for SLT/SMT. Thank you, William

Hello, I am trying to configure the user login interface on PaperCut for staff to release their print jobs manually when printing to a certain printer. Ideally what I'd like is to have the default log in page go straight to the 'Jobs Pending Release' page, instead of the 'Summary' page. I cannot find an option for this anywhere in the PaperCut admin options, has anyone managed to do this or successfully redirect it to a different page other than 'Summary'? Thanks.

Interesting one here. We're looking to build our own web application via HTML and PHP for a support help desk. Does anyone know whether it'd be at all possible, to when a user logs in to Office 365, use those credentials to log them into our web application? So this way we can track which user it is, without them logging in twice. Any help at all would be appreciated. I've created PHP/MySQL web login systems before but nothing like this where we'd be connecting through another system. Cheers. Nick

Hi, I don't believe this has been mentioned on here as of yet, but i thought i'd just point out the new "Microsoft Web Matrix" which has gone live. Microsoft Web Matrix Info / Download I downloaded it earlier, although not had that much time to play with it today due to me being busy but it does seem rather interesting. Not sure what involvement it has with Content Management Systems as they seem to be listed at the bottom (Joomla, Drupal etc.) from what they said on the opening statement it appears you might be able to start of with a simple content management system and then build upon that using the new tools! (not sure what extent they go to mind) Anyhow, might come in handy for someone wanting to have a bash at doing some web stuff! Oh! and best of all it's FREE James.

I am making a program that uses the WebBrowser control to display a picture as a form of "online advertism" that can be easly updated effectivly using a website, such as Xfire ... how ever ... when I add this control and use it, the page never loads ... it will always say "Navigation to the webpage was canceled" or "This program cannot display the webpage" when refreshed. At first I thought it may be a problem with my PC, so I then copied the files over to my laptop and had the same problem ... a while back a jumper switch kept turning off on our main board ... at the end of it all I reset my hub because when the power came back on it wasnt connecting to the internet, I doubt that would have anything to do with this as the WebBrowser control uses IE? ... and my IE works fine ... before I finally decide to give up and blame my hub for the problem, is there anything I could try to do in VB2008 itself? Thanks.
