Hi there I am hoping someone can help, I am redoing my mums website as it is broken and rubbish, I am really stuck on one thing and I have done some googling but either I'm just braindead or nothing really useful. I have a page called add images, which has the code With the code behind code as So what im stuck with is the databinding of the dropdown menu, at the moment it gets data from one database table called categories with ID and name in the table. and when the upload button is clicked it should upload the ID of the Name to a new table called Picture, into the CategoryId column. However everytime I click upload it gives me the error (there are currently two names in the category table ID,1:Name,Bathroom ID,2:Name,Bedroom) it uploads the picture fine to the images folder with the correct name, but it doesn't upload anything to the database table Pictures. But if I remove the dropdown list it works fine. So can someone call me an idiot and tell me what simple thing I have done wrong? Thanks and sorry for the long post

Hi We are seeing issues with a custom front end application which is used for CRM. Using on a client workstation we are continuously asked for reprompts of windows authentication however if we enter the correct password it is now working. The CRM front end server is also not registering that an incoming request has come in when looking at event viewer. When looking at the IIS logs we see the following: Workstation log (not working) reply 401 - Authorisation issue, access is denied to invalid credentials. 2016-05-23 11:56:24 ServerIP GET / - 9443 - WorkstationIP Mozilla/5.0+(Windows+NT+6.1;+Trident/7.0;+rv:11.0)+like+Gecko 401 2 5 15 Local server log (working) Reply 200 2016-05-23 12:09:34 190.10.100.151 GET / - 9443 DOMAIN\MYUserLogin ServerIP Mozilla/4.0+(compatible;+MSIE+7.0;+Windows+NT+6.1;+WOW64;+Trident/7.0;+SLCC2;+.NET+CLR+2.0.50727;+.NET4.0C;+.NET4.0E;+.NET+CLR+3.5.30729;+.NET+CLR+3.0.30729) 200 0 0 3760 The issue we believe began as soon as we configured Claims based authentication and IFD on our CRM server. Before this we didnt have the issue. We had an issue similar with our development server however this was an issue relating to impersonation with our development server where a code change was required. We also made this change in our live environment and then setup and configured claims based authentication and IFD for CRM. Since doing this however the front end application is not working as expected. When browsing on local server it seems to load the site ok but just not on a remote domain workstation. I have done some fiddler traces and found that the non working is still showing auth as negotiate even though in IIS authentication it is set to only NTLM (negotiate has been removed entirely) In working it only shows as NTLM. The issue certainly is authorization but so far I have been unable to resolve. Any help on this would be most appreciated

the problem is here public static List GetClientByStaffId(string STAFF_CL) { List clients = new List(); SqlCommand selectCmd = new SqlCommand("select * from TRS_LUT_CLIENT C, TRS_TASKS T where C.CLIENT_ID = T.CLIENT_ID and T.STAFF_CL = @ STAFF_CL"); selectCmd.Parameters.Add("STAFF_CL", SqlDbType.NVarChar).Value = STAFF_CL; DataTable dt = DBManager.ExecuteQuery(selectCmd); foreach (DataRow row in dt.Rows) { clients.Add(new TRS_LUT_CLIENTS(int.Parse(dt.Rows[0]["CLIENT_ID"].ToString()), dt.Rows[0]["CLIENT_NAME"].ToString(), dt.Rows[0]["CLIENT_ADDRESS"].ToString(), dt.Rows[0]["CLIENT_DESCRIPTION"].ToString())); } return clients; } i can't c it at all !! i thought that it may be the parameters.add . but what exactly i don't know !!

Hi all, I'm having an intermittent problem with an old intranet server here. It will work fine for weeks, then suddenly Windows authentication will stop working completely. The usual behaviour is the user isn't aware of any login as I'm just using access permissions in ASP.NET to let only certain AD groups through. I have also manually added the server's local admin account as an allowed user. When the failure happens, users are prompted for their login details, but even entering them correctly doesn't allow them access to the site. If I enter the server's local admin credentials however, it authenticates. Any idea what I might be doing wrong? As I say, this problem rears it's ugly head every few weeks, I try restarting it a couple of times, nothing seems to work then eventually, it will start working again.

I've setup a web submission form which is working and I've got a page which I can search for a record and the edit/delete the entry. I've tested this with a number of records and it doesn't work for any record except for 1. I can edit a specific record and it updates correctly. However, if I try it with other entries when I click to Update the entry it just takes me back to the original results page and leaves the content as it was. I've checked my code following a number of online examples and it looks like it is correct. And if it wasn't correct I would expect it not to work at all for any entry. However, because I can edit 1 particular entry I assume my code must be OK? I just need some guidance as to where I go looking to troubleshoot this as I'm not sure where the problem is? I would just like to know, even though it works for 1 entry could it still be a problem with my code? I've been modifying so much this last day I'm tempted to start from scratch with clean code but I'd just like someone to confirm that before I start again.

Basically Windows has introduced point-and-click cloud computing for the masses and it’s doing it in a way that resembles the iPhone application directory but for web applications. Moodle, Wordpress etc are there. http://www.microsoft.com/web/downloads/platform.aspx Windows Web App Gallery - Featured Apps

OK so this should be fun as I have no ASP knowledge, but am willing to start picking it up as I go. For our remote webfolders webpage (RM Easylink), I want to be able to display a page based on a users AD membership. So staff will see the staff shared folder, students see the students, etc. I've looked through a couple of help pages but cannot find anything definitive. All I want is a main page, with a login link. When you enter your details, it checks against AD and if you are in the student group, you get student.asp page, if you are in staff, you get staff.asp....each with different webfolder mappings. Is this possible? Thanks

I wonder if anybody uses WebMatrix here? If so, perhaps you have some ideas about the following... I’ve been working for the past few days in WebMatrix 2, trying to learn the ropes as regards to ASP.NET and Razor (I’m using C# as the base language as I’m already familiar with it). I have to say I’m impressed with how easy and quick it is to code and everything was going so smoothly until I came across one irritating problem I was unable to find a solution for despite my best Googling. It seems that when using parametrized database queries, WebMatrix doesn’t like strings. For instance, the following SQL query will fail: SELECT * FROM aTable WHERE ID='@0' Whereas dropping the string-denoting single quotes does work: SELECT * FROM aTable WHERE ID=@0 As yet, the only way I’ve found around this is to build the query at run time and drop in the string values I need, but of course this doesn’t provide the SQL injection safety net that parametrized queries do. My thoughts are that WebMatrix/Razor isn’t recognizing the parameter as it’s enclosed in quotes, but I’m yet to find a fix for that.

Hi Getting up-to-date (ish) with Dreamweaver. Want to use a SQL Server 2005 as the source but when I try and configure a ODBC DSN, I get Error 404. The ISS service is running on the remote server and I have configured the correct port. Does anyone know the correct syntax of a MMHTTPDB.asp connection string? The string works fine from external VB (eg Provider= etc etc) but I can't seem to get the script right in VBS with ASP. Please note the server has to addressed with an ip address.

Hi, I don't believe this has been mentioned on here as of yet, but i thought i'd just point out the new "Microsoft Web Matrix" which has gone live. Microsoft Web Matrix Info / Download I downloaded it earlier, although not had that much time to play with it today due to me being busy but it does seem rather interesting. Not sure what involvement it has with Content Management Systems as they seem to be listed at the bottom (Joomla, Drupal etc.) from what they said on the opening statement it appears you might be able to start of with a simple content management system and then build upon that using the new tools! (not sure what extent they go to mind) Anyhow, might come in handy for someone wanting to have a bash at doing some web stuff! Oh! and best of all it's FREE James.

Not school related, but this message has started appearing on a website I help out with and I can't work out what it means. I have done a quick Google but haven't found anything useful. This is the message: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBE Drivers error '80040e07' [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Data type mismatchin criteria expression. Any help would be much appreciated!! Thanks
