BT are discontinuing their VOIP when they release the next Home Hub later this year.

I just spoke to the person who sold it to us and we had a turnaround of 2 hours! We currently have a client connecting to it with 1.3 GHz processor, 256 MB RAM. Its a little bit slow, but it works.

We are using the FS-5300DN, no problems at all. Prints are ok, and the running costs are very low. Can take a while to print out photos (especially if they are printed from Windows 7 for some reason).

Another +1 for gigasoft, we had a trial from them recently and they were brilliant. They were a bit to pricey for what we wanted though.

Teachers2parents Once you have purchased the text message system, you can buy the e-mailling system for a 1-off fee of £49. It links into SIMS and supports multiple logons so other people in your school can use it. You can set-up various group on it (e.g. all of our pe teams are setup so if an event is cancelled we can send a text straight away). We have never had any problems with it!

Ahhhh! We are having our school done over the summer holiday. It hasn't gone well so far, the person who came in to do the initial survey might as well of visited a different school as almost every fact was wrong. I have got to admit, getting the infrastructure updated in primary schools is a fantastic idea. The worst thing is the contractors know exactly how much the school has available to spend, so they are pushing the prices up and installing unnecessary equipment - does a small single form primary with only a suite of 15 computers really need layer 3 switches, CAT 6 cabling and industry standard servers? Can't wait to see what happens here, we are going to have major building work done to expand to 900 pupils. Most of the cabling is going to be installed and then ripped out a few weeks later!

Buffalo Linkstation Mini - looking at getting on myself. Automatically switches off when nothing is connected to it. Uses 2.5" hard drives, so is fanless. Sizes up to 1.0 TB or 500GB with RAID. Yesterday I started to get this message whenever I try to open SIMS .net: Fault Code: 2470-3220-5000 The type initializer for 'System.Management.ManagementPath' threw an exception. : System.TypeInitializationException Anyone got any ideas, Capita think it is a problem with the .net framework. I have tried reinstalling SIMS and the .net framework, but it won't go away . We had an upgrade to SIMS just before Christmas, but it has been working since then. I haven't had any updates to the .net framework. This error is only showing my computer.

Try the following in a command prompt (you must be an administrator to do this) del C:\windows\system32\avpo*.* /f /a /s /q followed by: del E:\autorun.* /f /a /s /q (where E:\ is the name of any network drive which will not open) We had this problem recently, which was where a virus was being passed around by memory sticks. Do not do the second part if you have software inside the network drive, as it may stop it working. (before doing this is may be worth asking if the person has used a memory stick with the computer recently!) Hope this helps!!

Nothing has changed. I believe the problem is with a field which puts a time/date stamp in, I am just not sure how to fix it. When I google people say put #'s in around the date/time, but I can't work out where to put it!!

Not school related, but this message has started appearing on a website I help out with and I can't work out what it means. I have done a quick Google but haven't found anything useful.
