Im having some trouble with a MySQL database that I've been using with an online application form i developed a few weeks back. I thought I had finished the form as i didn't have any errors until we have come to test it over the past few days. The problem is When 2 different users use the form, or the same user closes the browser and starts a new session, the newest data will overwrite all other data in each field across all tables. Also if one person is filling out the form and a second users then starts a few moments after, the first person is then referred to the beginning when they move forward a page as the data base has lost all previous information. you can see the form at www.moorpark.lancs.sch.uk/teachapp/ the pages go as follows with each step page running an included 'process' page default.asp step-2.asp -process-1.asp step-3.asp -process-2.asp step-4.asp -process-3.asp step-final.asp -process-4.asp if needed i can sort out some paste bins of the full page code. Thanks! I have just noticed i have missed a 'where' statment off the end of my sql syntax.

Bit of a weird one but one of my central/North London independent school clients requires a developer to build a page in firefly that displays results from a SIMS Assessment Manager marksheet, filtered to only show results from pupils that the logged-in user teaches. So would need to know firefly (or be able to develop software or scripts in asp.net and/or sql) In addition to this they need to create online forms that have some fields that are pre-populated from SIMS, specific to the logged on users. In more detail, these are holiday consent forms that they are asking parents to complete, of which we have most of the data already held in SIMS, however the parent must confirm all of these details on the holiday consent form. Is anyone interested in this consultancy work? Not sure on a suitable rate but open to offers

Hi I am looking at getting rid of Winsick (aka Winsuite) once and for all. I'd like to display the User details on the screen using Active Desktop. Does anyone have an ASP script I can modify that will do this? Kind regards James

I'm trying to use innova editor on a web application form for the school i work at, and everything so far is good however, for the application form we have a small section where an applicant is required to fill in a a section on experience and achievements, so do to this i thought using text to html would be a good idea as it would include all the line breaks and formatting when i later recall everything from the database. My problem lies when a new application is started and it gets to step 3 which has my textarea (code below) it returns with the error 'Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a005e' Invalid use of Null: 'Replace'. The text area will work fine when i remove the 'function enclodeHTML' but I'm a little worried that it then wont save my text as it should? The field on the MySQL database is using a LONGTEXT just for safe measure, and i would revert back to to a plain textarea but id lose all formatting. You can view the form at http://www.moorpark.lancs.sch.uk/supportapp/ but in order to get to step 3 you'll have to fill it out will dummy data to get through the first step (i can clear it all out later) and here is a snippet of the code for the textarea with the innova editor. If anything else is needed just let me know, I'd really like to solve this today and hopefully the form should be finished. Thanks <% function encodeHTML(sHTML) sHTML=replace(sHTML,"&","&") sHTML=replace(sHTML,"<","<") sHTML=replace(sHTML,">",">") encodeHTML=sHTML end function Response.Write encodeHTML(RS("sTHREEexperience")) %> <br /> var oEdit1 = new InnovaEditor("oEdit1");<br /> oEdit1.cmdAssetManager = "modalDialogShow('../assetmanager/assetmanager.asp',640,445);";<br /> oEdit1.mode = "XHTMLBody";<br /> oEdit1.width = "100%";<br /> oEdit1.height = "450px";<br /> oEdit1.css = "admin.css";<br /> oEdit1.useDIV = "false";<br /> oEdit1.useBR = "false";<br /> <br /> <br /> oEdit1.features = [<br /> <br /> <br /> "Cut", "Copy", "Paste", "PasteWord", "PasteText", "|",<br /> "Undo", "Redo", "|",<br /> "RemoveFormat", "XHTMLSource", "BRK",<br /> <br /> <br /> "StyleAndFormatting", "TextFormatting", "ListFormatting", "BoxFormatting",<br /> "ParagraphFormatting", "CssText", "Styles", "|",<br /> "Paragraph", "FontName", "FontSize", "|",<br /> "Bold", "Italic", "Underline", "Strikethrough", "|",<br /> "JustifyLeft", "JustifyCenter", "JustifyRight", "JustifyFull", "|",<br /> "Numbering", "Bullets", "|", "Indent", "Outdent"<br /> <br /> <br /> ];<br /> <br /> <br /> oEdit1.REPLACE("experience");<br />

Hello Everyone! We are still having problems with the MyFiles part of HAP. We are wanting to make this live ready for September and would like to use the MyFiles part as it looks quite good. However, the error that we are getting is this: Server Error in '/HAP' Application. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code. Hi Getting up-to-date (ish) with Dreamweaver. Want to use a SQL Server 2005 as the source but when I try and configure a ODBC DSN, I get Error 404. The ISS service is running on the remote server and I have configured the correct port. Does anyone know the correct syntax of a MMHTTPDB.asp connection string? The string works fine from external VB (eg Provider= etc etc) but I can't seem to get the script right in VBS with ASP. Please note the server has to addressed with an ip address.

Given the limited budgets in schools it can be difficult to get funds for certain things like print logging. Thankfully the people at PaperCut have for a while had a free version of their print logging software that can be aquired here: PaperCut - Print Logger - a free print job logger for Windows. This is quite useful to gather data but requires a lot of manual labour to convert this raw data into usable 'evidence' to justify the full product in order to keep a check on paper mad teachers and students. To make this process more easy I created a small and very rough ASP page which will take the raw monthly CSV logs and convert them into a table showing how much each user has printed to each printer for a time period that you specify. It is a simple ASP page and just needs to be put in an IIS site on the server which houses the Papercut software. It is controlled by editing four simple constants at the top of the ASP file. Const SiteFolder = "C:\Inetpub\Admin" 'Folder where the summary csv file is stored Const PrintLogsFolder = "c:\Program Files\PaperCut Print Logger\logs\csv\monthly" 'Folder where the papercut print logger csv files are stored Const SummaryCSVName = "dest.csv" 'name of the CSV file that will hold the concatinated logs Const MaxSummaryCsvAge = 30 'The maximum age in minutes of the Summary file before it is recreated Each time the page is run it will check to see if the summary is older than the timeout in minutes and if it is it will recreate it with the updated logs from the PaperCut folder. When you first load the page it will create a list will all of the avalible log data and the earliest and latest dates will be shown in the filter boxes at the top. To limit the summary to the dates that you want simply enter the dates that you want into the filter boxes and click filter. This code is rough but has been very helpful in proving a point to some of the staff and hopefully it can help others. It works best in Internet Explorer as that is the only one that allows for the rotation of the printer names to save width on the top row. CSS has been used so that it looks alright and is easy to change the appearance of it.
