Hello, I need a script that a user can run from the desktop that will remove or disconnect them from a network drive and then use the same letter and map to a different/new location. From searching the Internet I was able to create these two commands: Set objNetwork = CreateObject("WScript.Network")objNetwork.RemoveNetworkDrive "O:" , True Set objNetwork = CreateObject("WScript.Network")objNetwork.MapNetworkDrive "O:" , "\\servername\foldername" Each command works on it's own. My problem is not know what syntax needs to be added to make this one fluid script. Thanks, Scott

I need to search a share for desktop.ini and for each desktop.ini I find and need to change the ntfs permissions to remove the read attribute from this file. I am fine with the xcalcs part, its the script to search with the share eg \\server\users$ for desktop.ini. Any ideas or help would be much appreciated!

After having some rather nasty dental work done (four rather complex wisdom teeth removed) I have been left unable to speak for a while. Finding this to be annoying I thought to myself that I have a Windows laptop that has TTS (text to speech) built in. A few lines of VBS later and I have a magic speaking machine which has proved very helpful: c:\scripts\Say.vbs set s = CreateObject("SAPI.SpVoice") do While 1 Voice = inputbox("what to say") wscript.echo "> " & Voice s.Speak Voice loop With a nice little shortcut running it in cscript C:\Windows\System32\cscript.exe /NoLogo c:\scripts\say.vbs Not pretty at all but it says what you type when you hit enter and outputs a log to the command window in case the TT version is indecipherable. I changed the font size in the command window up to 16 and it seems to work really well for the simple hack that it is. I might make it better but I don't think I'd be mute for long so it serves my current needs. Just thought it might help someone some day.

Is a script around to list network share permissions ? This script can add permissions to a folder but not add permissions to the sub folder: Anyone know how to teak it to set permissions to the folder and sub folders and files. PSexec will not run a bat file that is set to silently install programs. Here is what im ruining for psexec to launch the bat file on the computers. The computers are not logged in they are at the CTRL alt del screen and awake. when ran it shows connecting them that goes away and it just sits there. I have been tasked to write some VB scripts for the kids taking the ICT functional skills exam in January that will do the following: When the user logs on it will assign the correct printers to that machine and set the default printer accordingly. Delete any installed printers that are for a different room. This needs to work for laptops (we do not know which rooms these will be in beforehand so the user will have to select which room they are in.) For example: If they log onto a laptop in room 107 and select that room it will add the correct printer and delete any previously assigned printers.. I found one on here but am not sure how useful it will be: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/scripts/22475-printing-location.html Could anyone point me in the right direction or suggest a script I could modify? (Lazy I know but if the resources are already available why not) I'll continue looking on the interwebs in the mean time. Thanks guys

Hi Got a problem where our darling students keep creating bat and vbs files and saving them to their home directory. Is there a way bat and vbs files could get automatically deleted on some sort of scheduled scan. Or some other way to prevent these files from being saved in the first place?

I have a script and a .txt file that has a list of computers. Below is the batch file i run to copy the SD folder to the listed computers. for /f %%i in (c:\SD\Computers.txt) do robocopy C:\SD\ \\%%i\C$\ /E Pause. Right now the batch file copy's all contents of the SD folder to each computer one at a time. What could i do to make to copy to all the computers at the same time? Also i don't care its is VBS or any other language even powershell. Thanks for any advice.

Hello. I want to be able to automatically print new PDF's that are added to a folder. I'm using Watch 4 Folder to monitor the newly added files but I need a script to run so that when the file is added it prints and then moves the file to a 'completed' folder. Does anyone have the knowledge or experience of doing this?

Hi, I often have to copy folders to multiple PCs in labs and have created a script to read the name of the PC from a txt file, read the name of the folder from a txt file and copy out to the machines as bellow. Problem is I need it to copy out to the PCs in the txt file simultaneously. I’m copying VM’s that can be up to 25Gb in size so it’s not viable to copy out to just one machine at a time or it’ll be running all day! Is this possible?? Hi Getting up-to-date (ish) with Dreamweaver. Want to use a SQL Server 2005 as the source but when I try and configure a ODBC DSN, I get Error 404. The ISS service is running on the remote server and I have configured the correct port. Does anyone know the correct syntax of a MMHTTPDB.asp connection string? The string works fine from external VB (eg Provider= etc etc) but I can't seem to get the script right in VBS with ASP. Please note the server has to addressed with an ip address.
