    Hello! We recently had our 2008 R2 server migrated to 2016 and it's brought over a few issues I need help with if possible, in relation to folder permissions for home shares. Users have lost access to their Home shares. I've had a look and the security permissions don't show their name anywhere in the properties of the home share folders on the server. The name of the folder is the same as their username. In AD I have put in \\server\userdata$\users\%USERNAME% on an individual user in properties and it grants them full permission as needed following a dialogue if i would like to grant them access. What I want to know is - how do I do that for multiple users at once? I've done it in AD and it comes back saying folder already exists but doesn't ask about granting permissions, so the path changes to their username in properties fine but doesn't set permissions on the folder. Is there a new way on 2016 that just works? All help massively appreciated!

    RESULT! SOLVED! Using that tool - thankyou - I found a rogue. Turned out to be a bridged network adapter. Lesson - never dridge a wireless and wired adapter ever again.

    It looks like I might but how do I track them down? I'm not sure what I'm looking at with the results. I can see our normal DHCP server saying it's giving out IP's and I can see another IP that i've never seen before dishing out IP's, so there could well be a rogue.

    Hello. We are suddenly getting a load of BAD_ADDRESS in our DHCP leases, one of which is also our OSX Server (which isn't dishing out IP's so we can rule that one out) and also printing problems and intermittent internet. There are also the odd machines getting the yellow exclamation mark on the network connection with 'no internet available'. Any advice guys? It seems to have started happening since updating the server but I'm not 100% it's related and just one of those annoying coincidences.

    Hi. I have two windows 8.1 machines suddenly not accepting group policy or mapping shares. I can ping external websites and ping the server. I'm at my wits end. Everything was fine until yesterday and now this. Any help available? So far I have removed and rejoined domain, deleted dns and dhcp records and uninstalled and reinstalled network adapter. Gpupdate brings back failed due to lack of network connectivity to a domain controller.

    Hello! We have a PC that won't play audio clips when they are clicked. The Activ player comes up but it doesn't do anything. Any ideas? The flipchart in question works on other machines.

    Hello. We are a primary school in Nelson, Lancashire and with the budget cuts we are looking for information or even direct help, on how to gain sponsorship to provide 18 PC's for our ICT Suite that are capable of running Minecraft. Our budget won't allow for us to buy the machines. The machines we have in our ICT suite don't have the ability to be upgraded with better graphics cards due to their age and form factor otherwise we may have been able to do that. Sponsorship or donations are MOST welcome! Please help any way you can.

    So sorry about the lack of reply here's the solution! Copy the web link to the desktop, see if you can open it. If it doesn't open, they believe you have lost the file association with that file. Right click on the file and select "Open with", pick the web browser and this should fix the issue. ******************

    This looks spot on but it's still connecting to their servers. Any ideas?

    Yeah I've been trying to give this a go but it isn't working - just fails to connect to the YouTube streaming server. Could it be a firewall issue do you think?
