  1. Am I missing something here? Once the Fusion 360 software is installed, it asks for a Autodesk login. If the student creates their own with their school email address, it then says that they are an expired or inactive subscription in the software. I'm registered as an educator on Autodesk, but where do I add students? Their website is a maze and I find myself going in circles when navigating it.
  2. Thanks for the replies both. Does anyone else have any recommendations (can be ongoing license fee), just seeing what options are out there. Cheers
  3. Hi, Does anyone have any recommendations for internet filtering for student laptops/devices that are off-site? Ideally I'd like something that doesn't have an ongoing cost (perpetual). Thanks in advance.
  4. I recently upgraded our DC's from Server 2008 R2 to Server 2019. Went relatively smooth. Not seen any performance issues with 2019 whatsoever and I've not given them particularly high specs. If you're on Server 2016 and don't have any real need to upgrade to Server 2019 at this point then I'd say leave it for now as the benefits would be less.
  5. Hi all, I wondered if anyone has prepared a report for SLT to review the transfer of sensitive information over email? I am currently investigating tightening our policies and procedures and intend to present to our SLT in the next few months with what our various options are. As far as I see it we have three options: Force Secure Transmission of Email within Office 365 + No cost + Using a system staff are currently familiar with + Can be setup to automatically secure connection to a number of known services (Child Protection Agencies etc.) - Does not guarantee secure access the other side (could pop up on a computer for example) - No control over data retention - Long wait for NDR if message has been rejected Secure Email Service (such as Egress) + Data always within schools control + Retention can be managed + More secure the other end as the message will not just open if email is left open - Cost. Could be minimal, depends how many staff are required to send. - Training for staff to use the new system (minimal) - Could be a bottleneck for communication if we are relying Encrypting documents before sending - Longwinded and cumbersome - Requires staff to communicate password over telephone - Email filters could reject the encrypted document If anyone has anything they have prepared, conclusions they have made etc. I would really appreciate your thoughts.
  6. Would be interested in the fix. We have users with smart notebook and without smart notebook experiencing the issue. We are running the latest adobe reader dc but are seeing the issue with previous versions too
  7. Hi, Is anyone else experiencing freezing issues when using Adobe Reader DC on Windows 10 1903? We have several users reporting it. It's difficult to replicate but we have many users reporting it. Adobe Reader DC just locks up, and crashes. Event Viewer isn't particularly helpful.
  8. Hi all, Can anyone using Exa please try and download a file from dropbox.com? We just get 'unable to download the file'. Wondering if it's just us.
  9. Worth trying to disable this google chrome GPO?: 'Always open PDF files externally'
  10. Another shout for SCCM for OS & application deployments etc.
  11. SMART replied to my query of whether the patch fixes the issues or not, this is their response: I understand you noticed a recent update to SMART Product Drivers and Ink, and you would like to confirm if this update addresses the crashes you have been experiencing. I will confirm this for you. I can confirm that the crashes you have experienced are actually the main reason for this patch, and this should resolve the issues for you. Now rolled it out here via SCCM to all teacher workstations. Will let you know if any staff report that they've had the freezing/crash issue.
  12. Isn't this a security risk though?
  13. After reading the patch notes I'd say it isn't a fix for the chrome issue. I'll still try it though but as they told me just 3 days ago earliest it will be fixed is November I won't hold my breath.
  14. From SMART: The patch is expected to be released this November at the earliest with the new SMART Driver pack. My best thought would be to downgrade to 12.11 and 5.4 package as both these issues you mention should go away and then wait till the new package is released later this year.
  15. Thanks, will give this a try!
