Hi Everyone, I have had to take on SCCM. Its set up. Can some one please give me a few steps on how to create a package and deploy java 64 bit I am a beginner with SCCM

Another update! Java SE 8 Update 40 (expires 14 April 2015) Download (Windows: 32-bit, 64-bit / OS X: 64-bit) / Release Notes / Bug Fixes http://a.pomf.se/katlbx.jpg

Website / Download (Direct Link) / Release Notes To obtain a copy of the MSI, install Java using the EXE installer but do not click the Close button at the end of the setup process. Go to this folder... %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Oracle\Java\jre9_x64 ... find jre9full64.msi and copy it somewhere else, then close the dialog box pictured in the step 1.

So the Java 8 I have on a server (for Unifi) says that on Java.com version 8 is the latest version?!? Ubiquity is telling me to use version 11 of Java (and not 12) the Oracle website has version 11..... What don't I know about Java?!??!

Hi geekers, Please, as a last resort, I am appealing to you for help. having spectacularly failed to deploy Java 5.0.52 2 weeks ago for a controlled assessment for AQA, I had to do the suite manually with less than an hour to sort it! i have read and read over the last 6 months and have yet to have a definitive way to sort Java, (flash+reader too), but mainly java gives me the stress. Last time I tried this, The offline installer msi that i grabbed from the %appdata%locallow folder appeared to deploy on computerstartup as I have verbose mode enable and could see it installing. However, when going into control panel to check the version, Java is completely destroyed saying that there is no version at all; Java icon is replaced with the unknown file icon... the really annoying thing is that this damned online test (the same one that worked with .52 three weeks ago was now demanding v.55!!!! Please could someone give me a good guide? Everyone goes on about simply deploying Java as the msi but why EVERYTIME I try this, it NEVER works? DO I need to uninstall every java on every machine to deploy this way and if so, how can i easily do it? I have spent enough hours on this and am sure there must be many ways you guys never have to worry about it like this. Please help me over this once and for all........ If it the last thing I do, I want it done and done right :-/

So here I am thinking now would be a good time to move to Java 8 - only things appear to have changed! I downloaded the EXE, extracted the MSI as I usually did with Java 7 Next I tried to create an MSI in Orca, only to find that this too is now different - and all the usual properties (EULA, UPDATES, etc) are missing So, how the blinking 'eck do I deploy Java 8 silently and suppress the Start Menu, etc, etc

I keep getting this message every time I try to install Java. Can someone help. I've attached a pix of the error message.

when staff accounts goto wordle.net/create and then press "create" this then loads java and works fine. however when a student account goes to wordle.net/create and then presses create nothing happens!. im guessing its a problem with java but im unsure where to start with it. any advice or soltuons would be great we are using IE8 thanks, ITHelp.

I have been trying to successfully deploy Java 6 Update 23 using a GPO to an active directory group with two computer in it for testing, they are both running Windows XP. I have followed the guide located at Windows IT Pro -- Search "Use Group Policy to Distribute JRE With Its Automatic Update Feature Disabled" , however whenever I reach the end of Step 4 when the software should be installed upon restart, instead I receive 5 Events under 'Application' in the Event Viewer upon restart. I have checked the article at 404TechSupport -- Search "Deploying Java through Group Policy and Java RE Improvements" and it suggests that I need the Data1.cab file to be in the same location as the .MSI and the .MST that was created with Orca by me. After adding the Data1.cab file along with another .MST (Sp1033.MST) that was in the directory with the .MSI to a shared network drive that is available to all users, I am still given the same Events through the viewer. I have double-checked permissions @ the GPO along with permissions @ the networked folder and everything seems in order; the directory along with the files are able to be reached through Windows Explorer by all users. Does anyone have any advice for me? I am putting the GPO together under Windows Server 2008 if that comes into play also. PS--Sorry about lack of links, couldn't get to post with the urls in post. Below I will include the information from the five Events: Event Type: Information Event Source: Application Management Event Category: None Event ID: 301 Date: 2/10/2011 Time: 12:02:46 PM User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Computer: PORTABLE2 Description: The assignment of application Java™ 6 Update 23 from policy JAVAtest@@2 succeeded. Hi all, We are in the process of testing VDI In-A-Box, we have just gotten some test Thin Clients from 10Zig which are pretty nice (1 Linux, 1 WES). Since receiving them I have been trying to get Kiosk Mode working, I believe I have done the correct thing by enabling the template we want to use for the IP Address *? Everything I try I keep getting the Citrix VDI In-A-Box Client Java login window, is there any other setting that I have to change? We are running Version 5.0.2 of VDI In-A-Box. Thanks.

Hi, Due to staff sickness, Southborough High School, Surbiton KT6 5AS is in urgent need of someone to assist the Yr13 students with their programming module. Specific experience with Java would be beneficial. Short term contract/consultancy terms, subject to being DBS cleared, with possibility of leading to longer term options for the future. If you could help, and are interested in working with a small, dedicated group of A Level students, please contact me here, or at the school directly: [email protected] ...or respond directly to the Head Teacher's tweet! https://twitter.com/niallsmith1970/status/1062292414986141701 Thanks, Alex Sanger IT Manager.

I have a specific time-period in which I need to download and update Java on Windows machines. The machines will then be re-frozen by DeepFreeze. The machines wake up via a BIOS feature at a set time on Sundays, so this will need to be done completely automatically. The Java client (GUI) has a feature to download updates, but it asks before updating. The script will be run by a feature of DeepFreeze, but it must be DOS batch, or at least something started by DOS batch. I need a way of doing this completely automatically, from a command line. can this be done?

Let's get critical, critical! Java SE 7 Update 51 (expires 15th April 2014) Download (Windows: 32-bit, 64-bit / OS X: 64-bit) / Release Notes / Risk Matrix

Morning all, Been asked by an IT teacher about good sites that the kids can use to learn Java. Something they can do in class and at home in their own time if possible. We are currently using codeacademy.com for javascript and html/css which is fantastic, and a site I would recommend. Has anyone come across anything similar to this? Thanks

Yet another update! Java SE 8 Update 25 (expires 20 January 2015) (Recommended) Download (Windows: 32-bit, 64-bit / OS X: 64-bit) / Release Notes / Bug Fixes Java SE 7 Update 72 (expires 20 January 2015) Download / Release Notes / Bug Fixes / Risk Matrix

I haven't installed Java for an age due to the licensing change. Planning on re-imaging the suite over the hols with the new "thin" image, but still need to run the old Java version of MinecraftEDU. On investigation, it looks like Oracle walked back the lockdown and it seems that certain implementations of 17 (updates to 2024) and 18 (updates to September) are OK if they work, or sticking with 8u 221 and risking potential security problems. Am I on the right track?

The new RM Java Blueprint that allows you to create a package for all future Java versions (Article: 4147643) doesn't seem to install Java for our Internet Explorer (Ver. 9). It works for Chrome but not IE? I have double checked that i'm not downloading the Chrome specific version, it definitely does install Java as the Java control panel etc shows up.... but only Chrome seems to be able to see it! Anyone have any ideas?
