So I have made a little mistake and accidentally deleted the whole testing folder from my build share in Deployment workbench. All the wim images are still in the build$ share in the operating Systems folder. Do I have to delete all the wim files, re create the testing folder and re add the wim images back in? Thanks

Is anyone using Windows Take a Test app for state testing? In florida we have two testing platforms, Air and TestNav. So our plan was the create a landing page in HTML and configure the take a test profile in Intune to direct users from to the landing page.( This part is working) From here the student would select Testnav or Air Test from the portal and in the background ms-edu-secureassessment:"https://fl.testnav.com or the Air test url would launch. We are having a hard time getting the code for ms-edu-secureassessment: to launch the take a test app correctly. Has anyone else tried this? Adam

Hi all We're currently in the process of doing some testing of Moodle 2.0 RC1 for use on our student VLE (currently using 1.9) and was just wondering if any you have done any testing too and what roadmaps you have for deployment? From a lecturer point of view I think that Moodle 2 would be great as it has API access to Google Docs & Youtube. We've not used it extensively enough to comment from an Admins point of view, and until we can easily import / export courses from 1.9 to 2.0 (a feature roadmapped for 2.1) then we're hesitant about developing on the 2.0 platform. Any thoughts? thanks Paul Kelly Dumfries & Galloway College

Hi all, We are in the process of testing VDI In-A-Box, we have just gotten some test Thin Clients from 10Zig which are pretty nice (1 Linux, 1 WES). Since receiving them I have been trying to get Kiosk Mode working, I believe I have done the correct thing by enabling the template we want to use for the IP Address *? Everything I try I keep getting the Citrix VDI In-A-Box Client Java login window, is there any other setting that I have to change? We are running Version 5.0.2 of VDI In-A-Box. Thanks.

Just stumbled over this info about the launch of a new Validator tool... the Validator-Pro and Validator-Pro-NT. The Validator and Validator-NT have been cost effective alternatives to Fluke testers for years... hopefully this will be the case with the new kit which promises to do fiber, wifi and PoE testing! Unsure if this is the correct location for this, and may not be the correct forum to ask: My company is about to become a Prometric test centre (for MS certs), and have found out all but the following key details: How much does each test cost? How much can/do we make out of each test (I know the tests are standard prices, but how much do we, if anything, get per test)? Does the admin course (annually) cost us anything? All help appreciated!

Hi I have a question regarding my school network. I have a private 10.x.x.x address with 254 IP Address, as with most schools in the LEA. but I'm wanting to create my own test network away from address range, but still have access to the internet. I want to be able to create a test domain in a test environment! I have a spare 10 port switch knocking about I can use for this project is this possible? BTW networks isn't my strong point, guidance would be most appreciated! Thanks

Hi fellow edugeeks I'm trying to set up a brand new server with SIMS. Initally this is just for testing the process alongside our current SIMS server, but will eventually replace the old server. I've seen a few threads on here with details of using DBAttach to detach the SQL database, copy the SQL files to the new server then re-attach. However, if possible I'd like to use the .bak file created as part of our nightly backup to restore the DB on the new server. I can do this using dbattach with the /restoreui switch but it doesn't copy the user logins. Detaching, then reattaching the DB doesn't help Has anyone successfully copied an entire SIMS DB, including logins? If so how did you do it? Is a db detach/reattach the only way? The reason I want to use the .bak file is it doesn't affect the current system Cheers

We use CAT4 tests for Y7 setting. We use the online version provided by GL Assessment. Generally we are happy, but do any other organisations offer the same or something equivalent.

Good Afternoon Edugeekers! There appears to be an increasing trend in a lot of the clients I maintain reporting "slow networks". On deeper questioning I think its really the schools broadband connection (supposedly 10mb) thats at fault. Almost all of the networks are running with Gigabit switches (there may be the rare 100 speed switch as a n/w extender dotted about), and all are on Win 7, Server2012R2. Wifi on a couple of sites is provided by Ruckus but the majority are powered by Unifi (love it). What I had in mind was to go from room to room with a laptop and running a PING to the DC as well as Google for example as well as running an online Speedtest - but not sure though if that would really help as technically thats between the router and an external server(s). I'd also check the NICs are indeed connecting at 1000mbps from the wall socket as they aught to be. I want to run tests that will prove that the internal network is running at full speed and that it is definitely the broadband thats the fault. What I'd like to ask to ask you is what other software or tools would you have to hand for thorough top-down infrastructure testing. For example is there a more advanced Ping software that can delve deeper into the cabling for example? I look forward to your suggestions and learning some new tools, Many thanks in advance Canaan

Just wondering if anybody still get emails notifying them of upgrades the ESM server and Admin client for this as we only find out now when we go to log students into tests. Not brilliant for a timed exam as first the invigilator/ exams officer has to find one of us IT Techs, then we have to do the upgrade on the server and then on the workstations before the test can start. If you are getting notifications who are they coming from, currently i'm being past from post to post, Thanks in advance Iain

Is it up? Ran across this today and though it could be usefull for checking if a specific site was down for everyone or just you. Very simple operation, type in the address and it will see if it is contactable from that server allowing you to eliminate your net connection as the cause. It just gives you a can or can't answer along with how long the site took to respond so could be used to test sites that are blocked locally and make sure that they are up and running.
