    Its seems our supported teachers and students like to eat SMART board pens… The pens for our SMART boards are always going missing! We have a mix of 6000 series and MX boards. The replacement pens from SMART are quite pricey! Anyone out there using any functional cheaper alternatives with their SMART boards?

    Hi Everyone, Have an issue where I am unable to send Profile Manager commands over the internet. For example, I can send Profile Manager commands over the LAN normally. I can enable lost mode, update device info etc.. But when it comes to doing it to a managed device that's been taken off site or tethered to my iPhone, when sending a command from the profile manage console it just sticks in the job queue and nothing happens. When I check the php.log I can see the jobs I requested when the iPad was on the LAN but I am not able to see the jobs that I requested when the iPad was taken off site or tethered to my iPhone. I've spoken to our ISP who manages the ports and they have assured me that all necessary ones for Profile Manager have been opened up. I've tried my best to troubleshoot why this may not be working but i'm at a loose end. Anyone out there who is able to lend a hand?

    Hi Guys, Have a weird issue, I've got three users at a school with Windows 10 LTSB 2016 laptops and SB480's SMART Boards. SMART Notebook 17.1 gets installed via GPO. For some reason, the drivers for the SB480 boards keep uninstalling/corrupting on these laptops. Re-installing the drivers from the SMART website fixes the issue but within a week, the users boards interactivity has ceased working again. When the board becomes un-interactive, looking in device manager I can see a "Touchscreen" device with a yellow windows bang on it. I am presuming this is where the SB480 driver has uninstalled/corrupted? Has anybody else had this issue? Has anyone found a fix?

    Fixed this! After a lot of head scratching... Decided just to download the .msi again for the .admx files and try reinstalling it on the server. This worked! Now able to see this. Hope this helps someone!

    Hi Guys, I've done some 1709 Windows 10 images that I would like to stop upgrading to the latest feature update released by MS. I've looked online and found that admins have done this via the "Defer Windows Updates" found under Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update. I've updated the GPO central store to the latest Windows 10 1709 .admx and .adml files but I am unable to see this option! The server GP is running from is Windows Server 2012 R2. Please find the attached picture of what I am seeing in gpmc.msc. Anyone out there know why this is or knows how I can fix this?

    Sorry for not replying sooner! You may have figured this out already... To resolve this I just turned this setting off via the policy control on the BitDefender console and the policies then applied. I didn't have chance to properly look into it but I am sure there will be a way to whitelist local network addresses via the policy control!

    Thanks for your reply. Can you confirm if the fonts you create using the websites you suggested join up in SMART Notebook 17.1?

    Hello, I am looking for a working cursive writing font that will join up in SMART Notebook 17.1. The school I support uses LetterJoin, which works on SMART Notebook 11.4 but will not join up in 17.1. I've contacted SMART and they said that they don't support the font. LetterJoin say that they keep asking SMART to support it, SMART say they will in the next update but then they don't add the support for it in said update. Is anyone out there using a cursive writing font that works in SMART Notebook 17.1?

    Is the policy applied to the computer configuration or to the user configuration? If it's printer mapping I always apply it to the user configuration.

    I've really enjoyed using MDT so far, it seems quite dynamic although it does require a bit of troubleshooting to get going!

    How long have you had them for? I've noticed they've got a 5 year warranty so they must be pretty reliable?

    I had this issue with a school we took on with Lenovo Flex 10 machines. I've started to use MDT to create custom offline installation (USB) media. I'd advise looking into this as you can created base images from HyperV VMs to apply to multiple machines and all you need to do is change the selection profile driver packs!

    Are you having issues getting the printers mapped or just managing print settings? If its mapping them id say look at your print drivers and make sure that they match the machine OS that you are applying it to. If its managing them might want to check your antivirus\windows firewall settings? I had it before where after Bitdefender installed it stopped all GPOs being applied from the DC.
