doesnt stop you putting the ipad into recovery mode, connecting it to itunes and moonwalking off with your new untraceable ipad. DEP is the best thing to happen to ipads in education, you can even register old orders to DEP at the discretion of your reseller as long as they were bought after DEP went into service iirc.

exactly this. contextual blocking relies on ssl interception to work, if i wasnt going to use it id have got a much cheaper product! end of the day we have to protect the users from themselves, your average teacher will just type a statement into google and click the first thing in the list and believe it as gospel

GSuite Shared Mailboxes / Delegate Access and Sent on Behalf of

Our offices are usually 2 person teams and they manage it between themselves. we have found delegated mailboxes to be too clunky, this way they only have one thing to keep on top of -

we have ours delivered via google groups to the persons responsible for them with a [PREFIX] and if anyone wishes to send as the mailing list they can just add send as addresses - google authenticates you have access to the address before you can use it so no harm -
this is a pain in the backside just had everyone complain about it in the staffroom - has anyone actually managed to get it working?

just put all your service accounts into another OU and apply the settings localy for them to allow it and cut access in the rest of the domain. we have disabled pop3/imap and everything. the only way to use our services is through the official google apps, i have disabled high risk API scopes without prior whitelisting so we can still use oauth and the like for logins to services but stop third party apps being used that could be a security issue.

this kills smtp access mind - i found out the hard way when our finance system stopped sending emails...

we have ours set to only allow online storage to file upload/retreival is done on demand and ive never noticed an issues with regards to computer resources at all though if you get them to surrender usb pens and stuff the initial upload can be a nice wait for the end user depending on your internet

same as ours, i use cardpresso to make the badges though saves alot of time

change permissions on the shared printers so only pupils can print on the pupils and staff on the staff?

do you have any idea what the proccess for migrating from one MDM Solution to another is? id hate to have to reinstall 300+ ipads again - even with dep they need 14gb of apps each and the cache server can be a bit of a pain!

SW-0351-2764-2719 Diablo 3 is my thing at the minute! managed to get myself upto about torment 6 at the weekend so if anyone wants to play or get power leveled hit me up! note: Dont open treasures in a group game, if someone decides to leave while your stuff is on the floor you lose it rip 2 set pieces from my season reward box
-
consumables on these printers also cost a fortune - especially at the rate a teacher printing marking statements would eat them and would probably end up matching your copier bills in sticker rolls!
-
out of curiosity.... do you need any special drive caddys or anything to do this? i always assumed non hp/compat disks wouldnt work
-
oh also, youre going to have to rebuy all your licences as managed tokens - free stuff is still free, gotta buy the managed tokens still but anything paid you will need to pick up/pay for again as apple won't convert you old stuff - nice discounts though on most stuff once you go 20+
-
you need to be using an MDM solution that supports device deployment also. id assume most do now however, and yes it makes life much easier!

ive got an IDP SMART 51s and use cardpresso to make the cards
