1 i think, but yeah i would buy the 16, check that you can change as needed and maybee inform the powers that be you may need xyz but are trying no to overbuy as the licence whilst not breaking the bank in cost is a decent saving month by month from what i remember. once its in you should be able to see the info you need to make these desicions! when we got our 16 i expected it to be near capacity as we likewise couldnt see our live usage, could have got away with an 8 in all likelyhood

we run 3cx hosted, just over 100 extensions in 6 schools + our head office with 16SC - our peak concurrent calls is usually about 6 at most and we have plans to move another 3 schools over to it this year once some leased lines are installed. our monthly rental is averaging out £2.40 per extention at the minute and comes down as we add more schools. but we bought all our hardware upfront. Our provider said we can prorata our licence at any time if we need the upgrade - id assume thats standard for all 3cx customers

Wireless sollutions reccomendations to replace cisco Meraki setup.
DGardiner replied to Sonic007's topic in Wireless Networks
How good are they in high density deployments. ive been toying with unifi and really like it.... were starting to have teething pains in one of our schools where they are 121. Block with about 240 devices spread across 8 or so aruba IAP 115s if i remember right. our air play receivers are starting to be abit flakey - though i intend to cable them in over half term as the ipads so i am told work fine! -
you need to setup an MDM server in ASM - this connects mosyle to ASM/DEP and assign the devices to that DEP server. once it syncs, factory reset the ipad and it should auto enroll into mosyle https://manager.mosyle.com/get-started/integrate-asm-with-mosyle-manager

I cant remember if it was certain commands or any bulk proccess but yeah - its an annoyance when you dont have it - not that you need it often, but when you want to force a refresh instead of waiting for daily checkin its a killer
-
the only limitation i noticed was no bulk commands - that was enough to pay for premium. https://manager.mosyle.com/pricing

Wonde SSO on Chromebooks/Updata/Netsweeper/certificates
DGardiner replied to richmackie's topic in Cloud Services
you need to not inspect or authenticate the accounts.google.com and accounts.youtube.com urls - theres a long list of stuff i had to add to our smoothwall. id assume the wonde sso page may also need some exceptions -

Get them provisioned in google so you have the control of the device config. (~15-20 a device) then deploy something like securly/cisco umbrella/etc so theyre filtered offsite -
really? we have them in a couple of our schools and ive never seen anything so confusing/convoluted in my life

Google Chrome appdata files - best location
DGardiner replied to timbo343's topic in How do you do....it?
Should work! do some testing though, i cant remember if this allows the use of chrome at multiple computers at the same time or not - if that matters for you -
pepflashplayer.dll ? assuming its not loading flash?
-
have you tried inspecting the page - its likely the flash file is being pulled from an offsite cdn? so the allowed rules wouldnt apply?
-
ive always found "ask" to never work, always needs changed to allow
-
im fairly sure it wont, its a user setting. you need to load the chrome gpos and enable the settings required there. https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/187202?hl=en heres the flash info https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/7084871?hl=en

DGardiner replied to Norphy's topic in Educational Software
i usually just change the port on the switch to the wifi vlan in these cases. our aruba wifi can rebroadcast the bonour/etc to the other subnets but if found it to be a bit flakey -

Weve just moved one of our schools from a Mitel onsite system/isdn lines with about 20 handsets to our hosted 3cx, monthly bill went from £130 + ~£50in calls to £16 + Calls(not had an active month to see the changes but our other schools average about £20pm) some people just take schools for a ride Our 3cx licence is for 16sim calls and we top out at about 6-8 calls max at peak times running 6 sites... so we still have plenty space to keep adding more sites as their broadband becomes reliable enough and everyones portion of the hosting gets smaller and smaller were currently at about £2.20 per extension per month Could probably make decent further savings by self hosting in gcp/aws and getting rid of some/all of the support but i like that fallback and they've been really good to work with
-
this stops you from able to MITM the traffic and inspect it?

Virtualbox will do the job for free, but wont be as seamless Id just take the hit on parallels personally, its only a matter of time before he notices he doesn't have publisher or something else! it can be setup to open stuff directly from osx and auto start the vm as needed - have a go of the trial
