I definitely have the login info right... the users are all set up, I mean really, it should just work and it isn't. PLEASE help. [DEBUG] Preparing email for new or changed booking ... We use iSAMS - Cloud based. When iSAMS sends messages it pretends to originate from our domain. When using the Gmail app we get warnings: Be careful with this message . This message has a 'from' address in but has failed 's required tests for authentication. The sending IP address has been whitelisted. Any solutions? Thank you, Wouter

Hi all, Back in the day I setup our 3 trust schools as separate G Suite's, more fool me! They wanted to all be kept seperate at the time but as time has gone on I see little sense in keeping it this way, how easy is it to merge all these in to a single G Suite? As it stands we have Secondary (Trust domain name is setup as a secondary), Primary 1 and Primary 2. Ideally i should have Trust Domain G Suite and all others set as secondary domains? Is this going to be a complete and utter pain in the rear? Thanks all

Hi, We are currently having issues sending messages from our domain to all Google addresses. We have checked our SPF, DKIM & DMARC records are setup correctly. We get a bounce back message that says : host gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com [2607:f8b0:4004:c06::1b] SMTP error from remote mail server after end of data: 550-5.7.1 [2001:978:2a01:0:6:0:1089:1091 7] Our system has detected that 550-5.7.1 this message is likely unsolicited mail. To reduce the amount of spam 550-5.7.1 sent to Gmail, this message has been blocked. Does anyone know a solution to this or how we can contact someone useful at Google to help?

Hi,During February half-term 2014 we changed the MX records associated with xxxxxxxxx.xxxxx.sch.uk to be those of gmail in order to bring the domain fully under the control of our Gapps primary domain. Our Bursar has continued to keep an eye on the LA exchange mailbox and noticed an email that didn't go into our gmail mailbox but went to the LA exchange mailbox. Could anyone shed any light on why this might have happened? Is it a case of studying the message headers?

We have set up a Google Apps account for our school, and are planning on making use of the email app. Historically, all external email is blocked on our firewall and by the Local Authority. However we will need to loosen these restrictions to allow https://mail.google.com However we would like the ability to still block non-school related Gmail accounts. Is this possible? You can specify a custom URL for users to access the Google Apps email - e.g. https://mail.domain.com However when users browse to this URL, they are redirected to the URL https://mail.google.com/mail/?shva=1#inbox which doesn't include any references to the domain. I have tried logging in with a standard gmail account, and it also redirects you to the same URL. Any advice would be appreciated!

I am a bit confused here. We have Exchange 2007 on site and it has generally run alright for the years I've been here (it was in place when I arrived), and every now and then when we have a planned power outage, something seems to go wrong with it when it's powered down. This time round, TLS has apaprently stopped working. When I try and email in from my gmail account I get told that "The error that the other server returned was: 454 454 TLS currently unavailable (state 8)." and it takes 24 hours for the message to arrive. This seems to be by design with regards to gmail, to alert to problems, although it was never a problem before. When powering back up this time I removed the old domain controllers that had been demoted last week, so that may be relevant. I also deleted an expired Web Server certificate from the email server that had been issued by an enterprise CA that I destroyed a couple of weeks ago (it was easier than moving it from 2003 x86 to 2008R2 x64 given that no valid certificates were out). Initially, after power up, Exchange wasn't accepting external emails - I could email around the organisation, I could email out, but nothing was coming in. I had to allow all permission groups on the Default and Client receive connectors to get that working again; no idea how it had worked in the past but this is a common theme with this Exchange server and power outages. I've tried running Enable-ExchangeCertificate -service:smtp for the certificate the server currently uses (GoDaddy, for the OWA etc.) and Exchange tells me it is using that certificate for SIP.W (i.e. everything) but the TLS is still not doing anything. Can anyone who actually knows something about Exchange shed any light on this? I'm just very confused that it worked before the power outage and doesn't anymore (and yes, I am considering Office 365 in the new academic year, funny you should ask)

Good afternoon, I'm sysadmin at a primary school, which primarily uses the Google suite. We have generic emails (info@, etc) for parents to email, these then get forwarded to certain members of staff, so as not to release the email structure to parents, allowing parents to email specific teachers etc directly. We're having an issue, where sometimes, parents emails get marked as spam by Gmail, and eventually get archived at the generic inbox, meaning they never make it to the members of staff that need to be seeing them. Has anyone experienced this kind of problem before, and how did you resolve it please? TIA Paul

Is there anyway to change the display name in G Suite, i.e. the name that appears when a G Suite user emails someone? I see we have the option to make it either 'First, Last' or 'Last, First' but nothing else like First initial followed by surname. I suppose we could change the users first names to just their first initial but that seems a little hacky. Has anyone found a way of doing this, so emails come from JSmith rather than Joan Smith? If not, has the fact that Teacher's first names are visible to students caused any issues?

We would like to give students access to Gmail, however, some staff are worried that Students will send emails to the distribution groups (i.e. All_Teachers, All_Staff), is there a way of hiding these email groups so that it will not appear in the students Global Directory but will still appear for everyone else?

Has anyone got any suggestions for blocking pupils from emailing groups? I know you can setup message restrictions but this would involve maintaining a list of approved people pupils can send to. Group posting permissions aren't helpful either. The only thing I can think of is to use content compliance in the admin console and setup expressions so that the Pupil OU has a rule applied which says that any emails going to a particular address are blocked. Thanks Simon

Hello all! I'm new here and also new to supporting a school district. I'm hoping someone here can help me with this. It seems like it should be pretty simple to do, I just don't know how. All of our staff use Gmail for email. And everyone uses it through their browser. However, when someone clicks on an email, it defaults to opening Outlook. How can I set GPO to make Gmail the default email program for everyone? The trick is that some people use Internet Explorer, some use Chrome and some use Firefox. Yeah, I know, I don't like that either, but it's what I have to work with. Any suggestions out there? Anyone had to do this themselves and know how? Thanks in advance for the help!

Can I lock down the ability to login with personal emails and only allow Google Education logins? I'm guessing its a GPO I've overlooked. Thanks PS- excuse the education spelling mistake

Hi all, We're in the process of migrating our email services from Exchange to GMail after moving forward with Google Apps for Education. The one sticking point is how we backup or archive our sent and received mail. I'm aware of Google's Postini service but am having no joy in even getting a quote back from their team. Has anyone else moved down a similar path and if so how are you archiving email? Any assistance in this area would be fantastic.

Can anybody tell me if there is a way to transfer only labelled emails from one gmail account to another? I currently have mail work and personal emails feeding into one account but now we have Google Apps Education I would like to seperate and transfer my existing work emails into my new account. Thanks
