https://www.amazon.co.uk/Apple-iPad-11-inch-Display-All-Day/dp/B0DZ77X9FQ £329 inc VAT seems a way better deal than I can find through normal channels, but how to get them added to ASM? How does the warranty situation work? I'm assuming you can get MDM licenses without buying kit.

We're deploying iPad devices to teachers and we're using wireless casting to Promethean TVs, CTOUCH TVs etc. One issue I have ran into is that on the i3Connect devices, Miracast and wireless sharing options don't show up properly. I know this is a wireless issue, as when I change the wireless on the tablet and TV to my hotspot, they recognise each other straight away and I can connect. If I swap back to the onsite WiFi, it can't find it again. Does anyone know or had experience with an issue like this? And how we can go about unblocking this connection through Sophos so it works on the standard WiFi?

Anyone got any ideas why one of my profiles only seems to properly apply when a new device is erased? On first setup it shows all the same profiles as a "correct" device, but I have to erase the device to get them all to properly stick; just reinstalling the profiles doesn't seem to help. Also, where the heck to you set the time zone? Getting tired of having to set the pads to London manually.

Hi All, We have a music teacher who uses iPads to record her videos and shares them via iCloud to her other iPads so she can play them & record ect...On 1 specific iPad the videos will not play at all. Have tried basics...reset disconnected from wifi logged in again ect ect..no avail any ideas? Thanks

Hey hey, We have a bit of an issue with the ipad setup. In March all was working on, but for the last month we have had no luck with distributing apps to ipads in addition to buying new apps and getting them to appear in the profile manager. Nothing has been changed to my knowledge and all the settings look ok The ipads do talk somewhat to the profile manager as the enrolling and pushing apps that are already installed go into the completed tasks log and appear ok. The apps when being pushed to the ipads if they are new to the ipad will say ‘No Copies Available’ With apps that have been associated with that ipad before will with go through ok or get stuck on ‘In Progress’ Our ipads are on various IOS levels some are on 9.1 to the latest. I thought I would mention this as I know there was an issue with 9.2. I have also replaced the VPP token When buying from the educational store, the item is purchased ok and all e-mail notifications are done as usual. But sadly the item never appears on the server to distribute later. I think that this is the main issue and the part will hopefully fix the other issues we are having distributing to ipads Has anyone had this issue before or got any ideas?

Apple newbie here - never owned or managed any Apple device of any description and know nothing about them at all We purchased a bunch of 2nd hand iPads from a local school that had purchased more than they needed so although they were 2nd hand they were unused although registered with Apple. The school 'de-registered' them before handing them over and it appears that somebody (not me) then created an AppleID and signed into all of the iPads using it. We've now purchased a further batch, this time new/boxed and through a reseller and have also purchased a MacBook Pro to manage them as I was told that's what we needed. What's the simplest way to manage them in terms of locking them down so people cannot install Candy-Crush on them, automatically setting WiFi networks, setting wallpapers and so on and so forth - can I do that using Apple Configurator on the MacBook or do I need a better solution? Some will be used by senior managers exclusively and others by departments - these will be used by a number of people. I need whoever is logged in at the time to be able to access their email and mapped network drives, is that possible? I've read plenty of horror stories about iPads being personal devices not meant to be used n a network and VPP not working or having to apply to Apple to register more than x number of devices without being blacklisted, Bonjour traffic killing networks etc. so I am a little apprehensive about this - 1 MacBook, 40 iPads and zero experience of any of them! MDM software is a mystery to me as we've never had mobile devices of any description beyond Windows laptops and they are easy to manage as they can be domain joined. We are in the process of purchasing a Meraki WiFi solution and that offers a MDM solution - is that better than using Apple Configurator or is there a better (and ideally free/cheap) solution than either?

Mornin' all... Have deployed a load of managed IPads and forgotten to turn on Location Services on a lot of them. Anyone know how to turn it on remotely ??? Cheers in advance

How do you do it?? We only have 10 iPads for music and they use Garageband for composing music. All iPads are on one apple ID in order for the compositions to be uploaded to iCloud and then the teacher can mark these at home. Obviously using one ID means that the more pupils that save with Garageband, the messier it becomes. Also there is no real backup of the files and other pupils can edit or delete other pupil files. What do you guys do?

Good afternoon everybody, Is there a way to prevent app movements on the home screen without jailbreaking it? In my public school I manage a cart of 30 iPads manually using Apple Configurator 2 and I am trying to figure out how to prevent students from accidentally rearranging the home screen icons. From several google searches I found one ehow video ( ) which suggests a jailbreaking but I don't like jailbreaking for various reasons. Is there something I am overlooking? Thank you in advance!

I have just handed 6 iPads to our PE dept. They are about 2-3 years old, but have just been factory reset and updated to the latest IOS. 4 of our PE department have set them up and walked them through wifi setup (joining wifi, adding proxy settings, installing certificate, trusting certificate even though its already trusted). 1 seems to be working fine, 1 wasn't really tested, but 2 will hang on google while searching for certain sites, eg BBC returns results, but BBC Sport will show the loading bar getting stuck about a third of the way across the screen. Gary Barlow works fine, but searching for our PE teacher called Gary also hangs. I have tried killing safari, rebooted, cleared browsing data and cleared an error about changing the pin code. To carry out the last one required me to tether to my phone as our proxy seemed to interfere with the processes of sending the info to iCloud. When tethered just after this, safari seemed to work pretty fine, but on linking back to the wifi it again would freeze on the same searches. Then the person that it worked fine for said his started playing up. The AP was tucked in a cupboard in the office and signal was full bars. our internet is 300MB/S and this was when all the students were off site (it was around 4pm, long after the standard 3pm finish). We have a ruckus wireless system (APs and zonedirector), a sophos UTM acting as a firewall, a Sophos proxy server for filtering, and Securus for recording any inappropriate web surfing. Anybody ever have this happen to them before? Thanks.

Hi All Were looking at managing a suite of 50 imacs and 20 ipads. Do we need to invest in Jamf to dish out settings, apps and updates or can Intune handle these things? We already have Intune as part of our campus agreement but wondered if it was an good with Apple products. Most of the places i've looked mention Jamf as the way to go but at a considerable cost. Any comments greatly appreciated. S

General question regardless of the MIS system you happen to be using... Any schools out there using classroom based iPADS for the capture of attendance through the day? If so, could you outline how you set them up to be optimised for ease of use and speed of taking the register? Also, how did you secure them in the classroom to ensure they didnt go walkabouts Do you use any particular software to manage them? Are they multiuser in that multiple teachers can use the same device depending on who is using the classroom? Many thanks. Answers to any or all of the above would be great

Hi all, We have a bank of around 120 iPads ranging from iPad Air 2 up to iPad (8th gen) - all controlled through JAMF For those iPads that are assigned to one user (class teachers) a fair few of them are losing Wi-Fi connection after a few minutes or each time the device is locked/restarted, we have not had this issue on any shared device. Wi-Fi works for all other devices in the school with no issues. Solutions tested: Updating to the latest IOS - X Wiping the device completely and reinstalling user profiles - X Pushing profiles containing Wi-Fi credentials back out to the device - X Manually inputting Wi-Fi credentials to each iPad - X Testing a different Wi-Fi - X Each of these allows connection for a few minutes but then experiences the same issue of it completely dropping out as before, any other suggestions are welcome as this is getting difficult for class teachers to use their devices on a daily basis.

Hello, I'm currently having an issue whereby some iPads in school are force closing internet shortcuts created by LightspeedMDM. I dont actually have access to our MDM system it is managed by someone else who is only in school around 6 hours a week. My thoughts are that this may be a caching issue in Safari. Has anyone else had this issue before? Would it just be a case of reinstalling safari through lightspeed? as I have been told that app caches cannot be cleared through lightspeed. Thanks in advance.

Hi, Just wondering if anyone has come across an app that can open activinspire flipcharts. Thanks Nathan

Hi all, I am attempting to deploy a new profile on my shared iPads on Meraki by removing the current one. I removed the old profile on the DEP setting, but later on found out that no action occurred on the iPads. Now I am in a position where I am unable to access the devices on Meraki, meaning I am not able to push commands etc. Does anyone know how to reset these devices when they are in this position? I am unable to reset on the devices themselves and Meraki Any suggestions would be great. Many thanks

Hi all, We currently use Meraki MDM for our classrooms iPads, not sure if this is related. The issue is when recording videos or using the iMovie app a pop-up message appears 'iPad storage full - you do not have enough storage to record video' Having received this message, every iPad has approximately 15GB free storage. So not sure why this is happening any suggestions would be amazing. I have removed and reinstalled the app, used different accounts and i've had no luck. Many thanks
