Has anyone successfully deployed Adobe Creative Cloud packages, and if so how did you do it? I was initially hoping to create a package for Adobe DC only, one for Photoshop only and one for the whole suite to be deployed in different areas of the school using Group Policy. It quickly became apparent due to the size that we are just going to habve to instal the whole lot on our base image and reimage everything instead though. The problem is that we can't get a package created that works. Using the Adobe packager, Adobe DC looked to work, but fails to install with nothing in the Windows event logs or any of the Adobe logs inC:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Adobe. The Photoshop package worked but took 5 hours to create and 8 hours to install on my trial computer (Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 at 2.93 Ghx with 4GB RAM). I was installing it from a folder on the local disk. That's the point I gave up with individual packages and thought I'd just install everything on my base image. So far, creating a package that includes the whole suite has taken 34 hours and it's only 56% complete. I still have to install it and hope it actually works. Our computers all have 1GB connectivity from the edge to the core switches, so no issues there, and the internet speed is 100mbps. We do go through a proxy though, could this be the issue? Has anyone had more luck than us? Or can any point me in the direction of any useful logs? This seems like a massive step backwards from a good old DVD or ISO with the software on.

Hi all, We are using Photoshop CS5 on Windows 7 via VDI in a box on thin clients. When we open an image in Photoshop, we get a purple "layer" over the image. The layer will vanish where the cursor is waved over the image leaving a trail behind it of correct colour. When you resize the window the "layer" comes back. I would like to explicitly say this is NOT a Photoshop layer! The image contains the one single layer. I use the work layer as I cannot think of what else to call it. Hope someone out there will be able to help. Ben.

I have deployed the Adobe CS6 series throughout my school environment. All appeared to deploy correctly. Photoshop works beautifully for normal users (Teachers / Staff). we seem to run into dramas when a restricted user (Students) uses photoshop. i am assuming it is a file/folder permission issue, but as to folder i do not know. - The student has full permissions to their local user profile folder. - Although the student has full permissions Photoshop doesn't seem to create any folders / files in the Appdata/Local/Temp folder. I believe it should be creating a save for web folder. Any thoughts, feelings, suggestions from my IT friends? I am having a similar problem with the Autodesk series.

I wish I was this good in Photoshop.

I'm sure I've seen on Edugeek schools saying that they use some sort of online solution for creating portfolios of work. Currently our GCSE Photography pupils create large powerpoints with 4+ screen shots (using the Snipping Tool) per page and text details. These are unweildy and use a lot of space just creating the things. We'd really like to find a neater solution. Online sounds great as it will save jumping through hoops giving moderators access. Thanks

Hello all! I was recommended to try edugeek to sort out general issues by my Network Manager, having only just joined the education industry I knew not of it's existance before hand, but it does have a wealth of knowledge! I am encountering an issue with photoshop. If you have a networked printer set as your default printer then photoshop will stall and crash. However if you do not, it will load up fine. After talking to no less than three representatives from HP (HP Color LaserJet CP3505n) and they cannot think of anything in the line of a patch. We at MCS are looking to upgrade to CS5 in the summer, however, we would love to have a temporary work around solution. We do not encounter this with our RICOHs. Has anyone else encountered this? If so, can anyone lend a helping hand? Many Thanks! Calum.

Hi All, First of many I hope as this is my first thread. With the below links I am looking for some information on anyone who has installed Adobe Creative Cloud Photoshop on any of the CPUs via a laptop and if it was still working efficiently, software is for a secondary school year 10 and 11 so nothing too extreme with usage. https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i5-10210U-vs-AMD-Athlon-Silver-3050U-Graphics/m819403vsm1113849 https://www.cpu-monkey.com/en/compare_cpu-amd_athlon_silver_3050u-1241-vs-intel_core_i5_10210u-941 Any help would be grateful. Thanks Ridz

We have Adobe 2019 deployed on Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC machines. Recently students have started receiving this message when trying to reopen a previously saved .PSD file. "Could not complete your request because it is not a valid Photoshop document" The files do not seem corrupt. Any ideas? Thanks, Luke

Hi all, I have a job logged about this already, but I am just scouring the web for more info. Has anyone deployed Adobe Creative Suite 4 (ours is production premium) on an RM CC4 network? Specifically to win 7 64-Bit machines? We have the package (imported from CC3) which is working for XP machines, and standard windows 7 machines. However when you deploy it to a 64Bit 7 client photoshop is missing. I cannot get photoshop 64Bit to package, using the payloads from the discs, or a direct download from Adobe (as it wouldn't accept our serial no) and without RM App Wizard I am at a loss as to how to move forward. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I think that this is the right place for this, as its a bit of a Photoshop problem and a bit of a windows problem as well as a server problem. The problem we are having is that when a user tried to open an image in Photoshop that is stored in the users home drive, they are receiving the following message. "Could not complete your request as it is not the right type of document" This error appears when using the file > open menu, when dragging the image into Photoshop and when using open with in windows explorer. This error does not appear when using the file > open as menu in Photoshop and the file opens without an issue. I have attempted various methods of fixing this issue and very few seem to have any effect. I have recreated the users profiles and work areas and tried without any policies applied and get the same issue. There are a few things that seem to work intermittently. When opening from a shared area (eg, student shared) the file works fine, no issues ever. When opening from a completely new home area, the file works for 1 or 2 users but no others (new home area is in the same location, just deleted old one and created new!). When opening form local C drive, the file works fine for everyone. I have also tried creating a completely new share and path and this seems to fix the problem, but is unfortunately not the best option when you have 750 students all with work in their areas. Copying it all over and redoing all of the permissions would take some time. The current share is, where work is the share: \\server\work\year\username (Path on Server: \\server\e$\students\work) The new share is, where work2 is the share: \\server\work2\year\username (Path on Server: \\server\e$\students\work2) Both have the exact same permissions and setup, the only difference is the 2 in the share name. Yet the net share works and the old does not. To test this I have copied a students area from the old share into the new one, re-linked the share to the user in AD and all works perfectly. This leads me to believe that somewhere along the \work\year\username path something is wrong. I have checked permissions, effective permissions for users share permissions, hidden files and for anything else that appears to be different between the new share and old and have found nothing, they are both the exact same, apart from one having a 2 in the name! The operating system we use is Windows 7 and Server 2008R2. The home area is setup as \\server\work\year\username\(this is the my documents folder, not library, my pictures ect has been remapped to the my documents using folder redirection.) If anyone has any ideas what could be causing this, any help would be greatly appriciated as I seem to be unable to find a fix to this apart from recreating the share. Thanks for any help! Joe
