just recently downloaded windows 7 64bit, tried installing it on to a 64bit machine and was recieving error messages asking for the drivers for my CD drive. Because of this i had to install vista 64bit then do an upgrade. Now that i have windows 7 i would like to make an image from it. So i run my sysprep as normal and then i recieve a message of you cannot sysprep a machine thats had an upgrade, as sysprep requires a clean install. So my questions are:- 1. How can i get my 64bit to install from scratch? 2. How can i get the sysprep to work?

Given the usual lack of quality support of any kind from many educational software vendors I thought that this experience, being so different deserved to be highlighted. Having moved most stations at one school to 64 bit Windows 7 at one of the schools I got a helpdesk not saying that a certain application "PM Red" would not work and it said it was incompatible. Further investigation reveiled that it did not even show the icon and complained about Win32/64 bit compatibility. Horrified I looked into it further and found that the software was designed to run on Windows 3.1 back in 1997. I was certain that all hope was lost but decided to check the vendors website for some contact details just incase. I found this page: Windows 7 Compatibility leading to this: PM Storybooks Upgrade for Windows 7 Long story short, after 15 years the software has still been updated to work on the latest version of Windows, they even handle UNC paths without a hassle. I am totally impressed and only wish that more software developers were anywhere near as responsive.

Hi all, I have a job logged about this already, but I am just scouring the web for more info. Has anyone deployed Adobe Creative Suite 4 (ours is production premium) on an RM CC4 network? Specifically to win 7 64-Bit machines? We have the package (imported from CC3) which is working for XP machines, and standard windows 7 machines. However when you deploy it to a 64Bit 7 client photoshop is missing. I cannot get photoshop 64Bit to package, using the payloads from the discs, or a direct download from Adobe (as it wouldn't accept our serial no) and without RM App Wizard I am at a loss as to how to move forward. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Just a quickie, I have been passed a cd of testbase 2004/5 to put on a laptop windows 7 home premium 64bit. When I goto install it is comes up with "The program featured cannot start or run due to incompatibility with 64-bit version of windows" Is there anyway of getting round this? TIA

Just wandering if anyone else has issues accessing ePortal on 64bit machines. We are using the 32bit version of IE but cannot seem to access it properly. The bitlets just seem to hang on the loading screen. We've tried it on both Windows 7 64bit and Server 2008r2 64bit Terminal Servers. Anyone else got this problem?

I wanted to upgrade exchange to 2010 but it'll need a better OS. What are the upgrade paths from here? can I go to 2008r2? (as it's 64bit only) I'm on 2003r2 64bit already so am I ok todo an in place upgrade. Should exchange be of a certain version before the upgrade? I'm running sp2 exchange (I think) cheers

We have a complete existence of 32bit PC's and all Staff & Students have roaming profiles. We are wanting to start introducing 64bit OS's for our Computing & Engineering suites but realise that there is an issue with the roaming profiles being shared between to 2 different architectures. There is no-way of keeping Students that use 64bit PC's away form the 32bit PC's, and due to the number of users, there is no-way of using separate accounts. Please can someone with the experience of migrating from 32bit to 64bit OS's across a school/campus suggest how they approached this and their final solution. Many thanks in advance.
