Apologies if there is a more appropriate forum section for this. I work for a company that has recently started a trial of CentraStage which we intend to use to boost our capability to support schools remotely. I am on the small team that has been charged with doing R&D into CentraStage to find out everything we can possibly do within the realms of the service we provide. It is certainly possible to run an audit of the hardware you have the CentraStage client installed on. Is it possible to do an 'audit' of Active Directory so that you can export a list of all your users within one or two clicks to something like a .csv file. Excuse my ignorance if there are solutions out there for this, please let me know if you know of a tool that will do this for me!

I am hoping someone can help to clarify the following... We are running Outlook 2010, running off an Exchange 2003 server (not that I think this matters). Every year we carry out a CSV export of our main school calendar, which is in turn given to the company that manage our website to import into an online calendar. They haven't, up till now, had a facility to automatically sync between the two. However we noticed that there is a problem with calendar events that are marked as an "all day event". The event displays correctly in Outlook, but when exported to CSV, the start date and end dates are different. For example: OUTLOOK Bank Holiday, All day event, 27/05/13 CSV EXPORT Start Date - 27/05/13 Subject - Bank Holiday Start Time - 00:00:00 End Time - 00:00:00 End Date - 28/05/13 All day event - TRUE Am I right in assuming that the exported data is correct, and that actually there is no problem with the way Outlook/Exchange is handling the export? Interestingly I notice that when sending an appointment request via Outlook, the email contains similar information regarding the start date and end date (although once accepted, it appears correctly in the Outlook calendar). Is it therefore a problem with the way the website company is interpreting the data their end, when importing it into their own calendar system. Thanks!!

I have multiple registry keys I like to export and append to one .reg file, instead of several .reg files that can be imported back into the registry. This is my newbie "multiple into one.reg.cmd" example project: reg export "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Environment" .\dump_Environment.reg reg export "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SessionInformation" .\dump_SessionInformation.reg reg export "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Volatile Environment" .\dump_Volatile_Environment.reg reg export "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices" .\dump_MountedDevices.reg reg export "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Select" .\dump_Select.reg reg export "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup" .\dump_Setup.reg It's a bit similar to a problem I found here, but the script is no good/faulty to me: VBS script to export multiple registry keys and append to one .reg file : Microsoft, Windows XP Professional, Microsoft Registry Editor v5.1, VB S Anyone have knowledge on how to merge/append my example into a better "multiple into one.reg.cmd" that fully automates the outcome to one .reg file? thanx multiple into one.reg.cmd.txt

Can anybody tell me if there is a way to transfer only labelled emails from one gmail account to another? I currently have mail work and personal emails feeding into one account but now we have Google Apps Education I would like to seperate and transfer my existing work emails into my new account. Thanks

Guys, We're part of a development team creating a new room booking and issue tracking solution. We could do with having someone who is from a SIMS based school to trial our software and the export function from SIMS - specifically timetable data. The solution is based on a subscription model so we'd gladly give you some free usage for a couple of months, please PM us if you might be interested. Cheers Dan

Wonder if anybody can help me with this. I'm trying to export assessment templates from SIMS.net. I've gone through the "Routines > Data Out > Assessment > Export" and successfully exported that way, however all that is in the created XML file are the gradesets used on the template, there is nothing in there to do with the layout of the template itself. Anybody have any idea how you get the actual template in to an XML file that can then be imported back in to SIMS? (if that's possible) I want to study the XML structure so I can automate the creation of templates with a bit of code, it'll save me going in to each individual template to add the same column over and over again each time the decision is made to alter them in some way. EDIT: Seems to have been a glitch the first time I tried it, just tried again and this worked perfectly. Sorry for the pointless post, Mods feel free to delete or lock this thread as you see fit.

Is there anyway of exporting a 2 week timetable from sims and put it into outlook ???? (csv?) thanks SimsStuff

We are running SIMS commandreporter successfully to generate csv data out of SIMS. However, we are aware that it would be better to export the data in XML (not least as a spurious comma in some student data recently caused a minor hiccup). XML is a [relatively] new venture for us for this kind of thing (CSV has worked till now so we have not fixed it), but it seems that Python is adept at handling it and so progress drags us forward (another spinning plate). A [test] report has been created to list the classes of students. (see attached pdf, slide 1) Commandreporter generates the xml shown in slide 2 - note the attribute 'multiple IDs' and the 'x0020' in the middle of the attribute labels (hex for the space in the field name in SIMS?) When run manually from SIMS it generates the XML shown in slide 3. No multiple IDs and no 'x0020' in the middle of attribute names. However in the schema the attributes have a 'caption' of the field name. The question is a)why the difference? and b) is the x0020 consistent or might it change (if it is derived from something other than my guess) [would be better/simpler for coding if we can get commandreporter to generate the simpler 'manual' xml] OK that was 2 questions. [No one expects the Spanish Inquisition.] Any constructive help/advice gratefully received, even if only to confirm this is expected behaviour and we have to live with it (should others have come across this also). We did try to generate a paramdef file in case that is relevant, but it did not make much sense to us (other than date fields referred to in other posts). If it helps our cmd file for comandreporter is as follows: "\\server\c$\Program Files (x86)\SIMS\SIMS .net\commandreporter.exe" /USER:username /PASSWORD:**** /SERVER:server /DATABASE:dbase /REPORT:"_xxxx_StudentClassesx(xx)" /OUTPUT:"\\server2\m$\xxxx\xxxxx\StudentClassesx.xml" (comparable syntax works fine for CSV files and when run from CLI) Have not found specific reference to this question in other posts here. Hi All I'm new to RM Integris and struggling to get my point across to RM support, so I wondered if anybody could answer me this query. When it comes to the primary side of things, is there a facility/function where you can export say termly summative assessments and/or test scores into a spreadsheet or doc, allow staff to add their assessments/scores and then import this doc back in to update the MIS? Where in the system would you go to do this export and then subsequent import? Thanks Mojo

Got a school that wants to bulk export documents stored in iSAMS, ideally out to a folder by student, but even if it was manual per student, to do all docs in bulk would be handy. Does anyone know if this is possible? Is there an accessible document store which could be downloaded and some way to match them to students? Documents required are mainly assessment reports, but also anything else that may have been uploaded, e.g. comms, letters, SEN docs would be useful too. I'm guessing it's all cloud - nobody self hosts right? - so it's not so easy.

Just cuz I can't find this ANYWHERE on the reporting section on SIMS.net... Does anyone know a quick way of exporting Staff Codes from SIMS.net? preferably along with surname, forename... Thanks :-) Laura

I am not really looking for the usual user management features that exist in some / many pieces of software that tap into MS AD. What I want to do is be able to produce reports detailing the user account information, namely username and password. In the past I have used an excel file and merged it to word to produce a little wallet sized card with all the appropriate network and email account information on it. The teachers have found this very useful as I can quickly produce a class set and when thirty kids walk in the ICT we can get them logged in as quick as possible. I kept on top of for a couple of schools (only visiting 1 day a week) and worked well when you used this as the central account db and just exported to the various system for instance, AD and bgfl email and some school software applications. Now I am looking for something that will query AD and produce the same soft of reports (8 wallet sized network accounts) and something that will be as flexible as excel / mail merge and allow me to add other bits of info!! Has anyone used anything like this before? Thanks in advance - not long now!!
