Hi guys, Has anyone managed to successfully archive Teams in bulk? Our SMT have decided that they'd like to archive all Teams (around 600) however on Microsoft's documentation I can only find a GUI option (one by one). If so, I'd be very grateful for some tips Thank you! A

I think I know the answer here, but I can't be the only one who has come up against this. I want to close off all the old Year 13 accounts (bit overdue, tbh). We always disable accounts because it costs us nothing to keep them on hand. Files have been taken off the file server onto BluRay, and now I need to reclaim their Office 365 licences. Before I do that, and their mailboxes get deleted, I'd like to grab the PST to archive them, just in case. Storage is cheap and I'd rather have the data than not. Is there any way in Office 365 of doing this in bulk, or do I really have to add each mailbox to my Outlook and PST them one by one? New-MailboxExportRequest looks to be Exchange 2013 only, and whilst MessageOps can apparently do it it costs $1500pa for 1001-5000 mailboxes, and their free offer ("set us as your partner") doesn't apply to free education plans. So (a) does anyone else know how to do this without spending silly money? If I have to spend a few quid I'll live with it, but the pricing above is madness. (b) does anyone else even bother? Am I just being paranoid/overprepared?

I pressed the start a new term button thinking it'd look like my instructions to start an archive. it didn't look like my instructions at all, so I cancelled. This was a mistake as it is now archiving the profile and I've set no options on how I want this done. Just an FYI I guess, I'll have to see what happens next..

Hi all, We're in the process of migrating our email services from Exchange to GMail after moving forward with Google Apps for Education. The one sticking point is how we backup or archive our sent and received mail. I'm aware of Google's Postini service but am having no joy in even getting a quote back from their team. Has anyone else moved down a similar path and if so how are you archiving email? Any assistance in this area would be fantastic.

Hi all, We need to edit marks for up to three years worth of data on our previous MIS as much of it is still on paper. We could use Lesson Monitor > Edit marks, but for 4 year groups and 100+ weeks each this would take time we don't have. I've found the SIMS tool that archives attendance data, but I stopped the process when the wizard advised that historic data couldn't then be edited in SIMS. It doesn't mention the format that SIMS outputs, if its .XLS or .csv we're fine but need something we can easily amend. I didn't want to use SIMS Support as we've changed MIS and stopped paying for their help, which was never that great in the first place! Any solutions on this greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone, We are looking at archiving all data in both user's home directories as well as our shared drives that is over 5 years old since it was last modified. The question is, what software could be used to archive the data or could RoboCopy suit our requirements. We want to archive the "old" data off onto another server that has a 2TB DAS. Any hints/ideas would be greatly received. Regards, J.Worth

Here is my current situation Exchange email hosting staff email. Google apps hosting student email. Baracuda mail archiver Baracudaspam firewall. I need to capture all email with the Baracuda. Staff to student, student to student, and staff to staff (currently already occurring). Possible? I'm hearing mixed responses, but the negatives seem to have not even tried it before saying it won't. I heard from one school district where it worked, and Cuba themselves say it should work. Thoughts?

We've all been there, we need to verify the status of an issue, is it hardware or software? Perhaps we want to test a new image, but we don't want to mess with an existing install. Here's what I do. I developed this at one of my previous retail jobs as the sales people would constantly sign in a customers unit for backup & reload but never gave me external media to save the files to. Our IT Policy forbid us from using store owned media for the purpose of customer backups. I created a WinPE based off Windows 8.1 that included Explorer shell among other things. You can also do this using commandline from a typical WinRE. Create a folder called "Archive" at the root of the HDD. Move these folders plus any others you may have as part of your image: Note: If you have an EFI based system, you can safely move all folders except system folders such as Recycle Bin etc. If you have an MBR system, be carefull not to move Boot, BOOTMGR etc., as you want to re-use those entries. Windows Users ProgramData Config.msi Recovery Program Files Program Files (x86) hiberfil.sys pagefile.sys Now, apply the new image using DISM from your flash/hdd or from the recovery partition. Reboot and Voila you are in a fresh install that took less than 20 minutes and retained all data. If you want to go back to your original install, simply create another folder called Archive2 and move the new install to that folder, and move the old install back to the root of C:\ and when you reboot your old install will boot again. This little trick has saved me hours of messing with backups and narrowing down issues by simply reloading while maintaining data. If you are on a domain and store data using re-directed folders or roaming profiles this may not appeal to you per say, but for those who don't use domains or who run small labs, this could be a neat trick to use for those cases when you want to try something with the option to "roll back". I found manually applying images with DISM is faster than using Windows Setup and allows me greater control.
