We currently have all of our students, teachers and classes set up in Teams. I'm interested in the weekly digest parent/guardian email. I'd like to test it with one student first, before I start figuring out how to import all of the parents. Is it possible just to add one parent account and link it to a student to test, so we can see how it looks and what info you get? I can't see any option for setting up parent accounts/email addresses manually.

Hi guys, Has anyone managed to successfully archive Teams in bulk? Our SMT have decided that they'd like to archive all Teams (around 600) however on Microsoft's documentation I can only find a GUI option (one by one). If so, I'd be very grateful for some tips Thank you! A

Hello all, I'm new to using Teams. Previously, Teams were setup with a Powershell script but I can't get it working properly so have setup the free Salamander utility and have it creating CSV files which Upload to SDS. This is updating Team memberships ok. My question is, what will happen on the first day I run it for the new school year? I know SDS no longer creates the classes automatically and the Teachers need to do this now but what is the exact process for the creation of those classes? For example, if we currently have a class called ComSci-10-1, will that automatically be renamed to 2019/2020 ComSci-10-1 then a new class called ComSci-10-1 be available or do I manually need to archive the class? Any help would be much appreciated. Gary

Hi guys, I've been scraping by with PowerShell and Teams however I can't seem to find a reference for the PowerShell Policy types. Here's what I know so far: -PolicyType TeamsMeetingPolicy -PolicyName Education_SecondaryStudent -PolicyType TeamsMessagingPolicy -PolicyName Education_SecondaryStudent -PolicyType TeamsAppPermissionPolicy -PolicyName Education_SecondaryStudent -PolicyType TeamsAppSetupPolicy -PolicyName Education_SecondaryStudent -PolicyType TeamsCallingPolicy -PolicyName Education_SecondaryStudent I just wondered if anyone knew the full list of names for Policy Types in Teams PowerShell? Thanks! A

Is there a way to stop Teachers mobile numbers from displaying in the contact pop up when you hover over their name? We don't want students seeing them. We can't delete their mobile from Active Directory as we use it for 2FA.

Hi, Some of our Class Teams seem to have had the 'Class Materials' read-only folder deleted. So when you go into Files the folder is no longer there. When going in via Sharepoint, I can still access the folder and it's contents in the left hand menu. Any idea how to reinstate the folder into the Files section so Staff/Students can access it again through Teams?

Hi all I have a laptop with a single screen. I want to do a presentation via Teams where I share the Powerpoint presentation window with my colleagues. However I need to see the Presentation notes at the same time. Any ideas on how I can do this? I can share the presentation "window" (actually full screen view) with Teams, which allows me to use the edit window of Powerpoint, but that means that I need to space to the next slide, click on the next slide in edit view, then read the notes. It doesn't show the notes suitable for the slide being shown at the time. Any suggestions? O

Does anybody know how to turn 'All attendees to unmute' OFF by default. The option can be manually turned off in 'Meeting Options' but I have turned 'Who can bypass the lobby' to off using Powershell and 'Who can present' to off. Thanks in advance for help.

Afternoon all, I have seen many pages about disabling pupils from messaging a team, however only one for disabling chat privately which was to turn off private chat for the tenant. Is it possible to stop pupils from using the Chat to send private messages, but leave their ability to message a team? However leave the private chat on so that teachers can send 1 to 1 direct messages? Many thanks

Hi, Has anyone else noticed that the "This user added That User to the team" notification has stopped working? Is this causing issues for anyone else with regards to tracking who was added to a team?

The digital activity is an hour slow, any idea how to fix this? Outlook 365 calendar is set to UTC - London. Local PC time zone is the same.

Hi, does anyone know if it’s possible to move folders in Teams, as it only seems possible to move the individual contents of folders? It just seems daft if folders cannot be moved, as the teaching staff want to move/copy entire folders. Thanks

Ok, this is happening to a few pupils now where the audio settings (in teams via Edge) is correct but the pupils can't hear anything? The pupils do not have access to the volume mixer but it would "seem" that the audio level for teams meetings is zero. The PCs play sound from other websites fine, (youtube) the meeting has audio as other pupils are fine. The device settings within teams is correct. is there a volume control within teams on the web?

Has anyone used Temas live events https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/teams-live-events/what-are-teams-live-events We have been using a private group on Periscope to strema our assemblies around the school but the video quality has been poor and setup is a bit hard for teachers to tune in. I was thinking of using Teams Live events instead. Was looking at Skype Meeting Broadcast but that requires a $2 /user / year licence. Aparantly the Teams version is free if you have teams licenced in O365. Not usre if I will need to install the full windows client to view the stream and also want to use an iPad as the camera (this works on Periscope obviously). Are there any alternatives that are preferably free and stream can be made private.

Good morning all, Is anybody else experiencing a problem where users in Microsoft Teams have suddenly lost access to the Class Notebook tab in their class Teams? It looks like the One Note is still available and if I copy and paste the url from a working user and then try and access that url as the broken user, it opens up asolutetly fine. Nothing appears to have changed in terms of Teams permissions and at first Microsoft said lots of school had started to report it. Now i'm getting emails asking me to run packet captures at my end which either makes me think it's not a wider issue as first discussed or are they just using me to help them troubleshoot a bigger problem.. Cheers, Jonny

Hi all, Microsoft Teams has been very useful to everyone for the past few years. Recently though (not sure if it is due to a new Windows 11 update) the Microsoft store version of Teams has been installing on the IT Suite computers. I am trying to work out if it is per user or not but regardless it is a pain. Worst thing is that it installs the home/small business which is useless as we need the work or school version. Just wanted to ask if anyone has any ideas of how to disable the Microsoft Store Teams app from Windows 11. Thanks,

I have staff moving their shared folders to their departmental team groups. How do users verify everything made it? I can't just find the file count?! puckered bum frustration... ..

Under the DLP for teams... ergh!

Hi All, I'm working with a very large academy trust who have recently rebranded. I wondered if any of you have renamed your SharePoint URL per the guidance here: Change your SharePoint domain name - SharePoint in Microsoft 365 | Microsoft Learn and have any real-world stories to tell following completion of this? We're concerned that renaming the SharePoint domain will break certain aspects of class teams. Look forward to hearing from you Thanks a lot
