Hi all, Microsoft Teams has been very useful to everyone for the past few years. Recently though (not sure if it is due to a new Windows 11 update) the Microsoft store version of Teams has been installing on the IT Suite computers. I am trying to work out if it is per user or not but regardless it is a pain. Worst thing is that it installs the home/small business which is useless as we need the work or school version. Just wanted to ask if anyone has any ideas of how to disable the Microsoft Store Teams app from Windows 11. Thanks,

Hey everyone, Since the Microsoft Store updated recently - slightly new icon and a different look and feel I'm having a problem with my "Store for Education" deployment (Private store only restriction is pushed to devices via InTune). When a user opened the old style store it automatically logged them into their 365 account in via our tenancy and they would see the "Collections" I'd assigned to the school and it stripped out all the other rubbish. After this update giving them the new and fancy looking store all the end user sees is a "Try that again" message. (They are still being logged into the store - I checked). I understand the Store will be getting replaced in just over a year, but for now I've still been finding it really useful as a "Self Service" App deployment tool for the school and don't want to deal with losing/replacing it just yet. I've checked a few articles on MS and other sites with no useful things to try and I've reached the limit of my patience for googling it... I could log a ticket at MS but I figured someone here might know what's going on and be able to point me to a quick fix. TIA

Hi there, Without my knowledge the music teacher has decided to buy a surface pro 3 so they can use some fancy music writing software which is only available on the windows store. I was just wondering if the app was brought via the windows store is it locked to the account of the person who brought it? Ideally I would like it available to everyone who uses the computer. Also for buying the app would it be better to create a new email for example [email protected] or something a long those lines or just use mine/another email address? Thanks in advance for your reply! P.S Already not a fan of windows 8!

Hi All, We've started to roll out Windows 11 and we've noticed an issue with our students accounts. We add them to the domain guests group in AD so that the profile is deleted when the machine reboots (in order to reduce used space on the SSDs). However we have noticed that apps like the Snipping tool, paint, calc, etc do not work on student accounts because they are a member of the domain guests (we have tested it without that group membership and the apps work). Mainly because from Windows 11 applications like these are now "app" rather than applications (the install place is different as well, instead of System32 it's now in the WindowsApp folder). Anyway, has anyone else come across this? What did you do to resolve this? We do have options, eg install 3rd party tools or take the students out of the domain guests but neither one's an option we want to go down at the moment.

Is anyone else have problems with MS Store Apps failing to update? I keep noticing a load of updates ready, but they fail to update without jumping through all sorts of hoops. I normally have to wsreset, uninstall/reinstall it or re-register all apps. This is happening on various W10 and 11 machines I use both at work and at home.

Hi, Like many in these forums we are slowly managing to beat our Windows 10 deployment into something manageable, with a few bumps along the way. The latest issue is the way Microsoft Store apps behave when a user first logs into a device. Specifically, if user1 logs into a device, they must visit the Microsoft Store and download our organisation owned apps. Equally, user2 on the same device must follow the same steps. The apps are installed but not available to users. Details as follows: - We use MDT to collect a sysprepped, prebuilt image in which the Store apps we want are installed (OneNote, Whiteboard, IPEVO etc.). The file-bundles for each of the apps are correctly located in C:\Program Files\WindowsApps as expected. - These apps are part of our xml start menu as described in other threads. - When a user first logs into a device, the apps tiles are dumb placeholders that have no effect at all. - Visiting the store to install the app works correctly, and the app tiles then display their correct icon and name. The issue is that for our 200 staff and 1800 students this process is not sustainable, particularly as users roam around multiple devices all week. Question Is it possible to develop a runonce script that will install/make available the list of apps that we need when a user first logs in? Please bear in mind that my scripting knowledge is limited... Hope you can help. Thanks in advance.

I work at a school and we're having issues installing OneNote app onto our machines. Is there a way to do a full install across multiple machines via the network, or do we need to do it one by one via the Microsoft Store?
