  1. Running mine on a i7 920 OC'd to 3.5GHz with 6GB RAM and a Samsung F3 HD - Haven't seen any of the lagging problems. Though I'm probably just lucky by the sounds of it. Single player is good, though think I prefer MW2... it's growing on me though...
  2. "You are tapped in" You got 17 of 20 correct. Your score: 85%
  3. You can do this from within MDT - You need to add the FinishAction variable to the Deployment Share. If you open Deployment Workbench, right click on the MDT Deployment Share, then click on the Rules tab, under the [Default] section, you need to add the following line: FinishAction=RESTART SHUTDOWN and LOGOFF are also valid actions. Click OK then right click the Deployment Share again and click Update Deployment Share & follow it through. What we use here, hope it helps.
  4. A few things that are on mine off the top of my head: PuTTY xplorer2 KeePass 7-Zip AD Explorer DriverBackup Xinorbis
  5. We're having exactly the same issues - "Gets to the point where a class of kids using 15 laptops take 10-30 minutes just to log in, and then its virtually impossible to save to network drives etc." - We could have written that ourselves, word for word. Glad it's not just us suffering in a way...
  6. This should help: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows/1357-prodesktop-install-2.html#post24504
  7. Totally agree that people whine far to much and need to get over it. However, Ants, Sparrows & Ladybirds don't tend to fly at you and sting you, so perhaps a slight difference in this case, not to mention those who are anaphylactic.
  8. Don Jone's book Powershell: TFM - SAPIEN Press - scripting books, VBScript books, PowerShell books, and more Excellent.
  9. Vanilla is the finest of the flavours - anything else dilutes the experience!

  13. Problem is you still can't get rid of that ridiculous box unless you hack the relevant DLL I believe. We have a customised background, but still have that frame!

    North West News Today

Teachers just hear the "brand new building and shiny things" line, they don't actually see what it means in reality.
  15. The problem with BSF has never been building purpose built schools (apart from the money wasted on style over substance), the issue has been the insanity of shoehorning IT into the program, locked in building maintenance contracts, etc. Basically sweetners for industry. If BSF was just about handing over a brand new building to a school, it would be fine, and not so over budget!
  16. Probably Tory - though might change my mind and go UKIP. I'd vote English Democrat, but they don't have a candidate here!
  17. Not sure about refurbished - but considering your price bracket I'd take a look at the Nikon D5000. Lower down the spectrum, look at the D3000 or the Canon EOS 1000D.
  18. Welcome to the LabourGeek Forums...
  19. Happy birthday Ric - Have a good one... Here's hoping this birthday you get decent taste in beer....!
  20. I'd guess that a profile issue, not a FR one. How are your profiles set up for the effected user?
  21. I have one - got from eBuyer. Love it - good for not having to have the PC on in the living room when wanting to watch something!
  22. Yup... you'd have thought they'd have learnt from Apple's mistake...
  23. Else "Reset all zones to default level" in IE should do it - looks like they've been changed to block all software downloads.
  24. "Delete cached copies of roaming profiles" here - Computer --> Admin Templates --> System --> User Profiles. Doesn't affect local account.
  25. We've gone down the MDT route ourselves, and found it does what we want. See here for a guide to basic setup: Installing Windows 7 ? MDT 2010 Part 1 - ICT for Education - Learning Gateway User Group
