  1. I'm a The Whisky Exchange : Online Whisky Shop - Buy Single Malt Scotch Whisky, Whiskies of the World, Rare Whisky man myself. Nice collection of bourbons, and do lots of the JD special editions.
  2. ...isn't it nice to be back... Has anyone had any luck with getting the "Connect to a Network Projector" feature working in Windows 7? We've got lots of XU83s in the school, which work fine via the NetworkModule software... it would be nce to have them working using W7's builtin ability though... Any thought?!?! Thanks
  3. Well, I have a 43-folders filing cabinet in the office... that stopped being used properly a year ago... and used to use one of the daily planning sheets... both of which I've got totally lax with. So a fan, yes, but a lapsed one! Alas Outlook has returned to being organisation tool of choice, though perhaps one day I'll GTD-it-up again!
  4. New teacher being given laptop by one of the techs the other day. Teacher: “So, is this one of those battery operated laptops then?” Tech: “...yes” Teacher: “So it never plugs into the mains then?” Tech: “...yes, to charge the battery" Teacher: “O, I see” ...Me: *hiding behind screen so he can't see my laughing!
  5. True - should consider moving it to 64bit at some point. We used to find clearing the audit trail helped, also consider shrinking the DB if it's got a lot of free space.
  6. We use it here and it works fine - It only needs the Java client for some of the more advanced functionality like web redirects. Had it working in an afternoon as memory serves. We're thinking of looking at Ulteo in the future though.
  7. Anyone have a recommendation for an external hard drive with eSATA that'll work on Windows 7 x64 please? Was looking at the Iomega Professional series, but they have issues with x64 drivers apparently. Looking for a 1TB ideally. Cheers
  8. Have you taken a look at OpenVPN-ALS? Known to most as Adito as it used to be called. OpenVPN ALS | Get OpenVPN ALS at SourceForge.net
  9. Great news! Congratulations to the both of you
  10. Windows 7 RSAT is here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=7D2F6AD7-656B-4313-A005-4E344E43997D&displaylang=en You then can create GPOs for Windows 7 on a Windows 7 client with RSAT installed using GPMC. Worth looking at upgrading to Server 2008 R2 though - makes everything easier & introduces some nice new features.
  11. Planning our migration from XP to 7 at the moment, will probably go out March/April time when Capita officially support 7 for SIMS (why they won't support 64-bit though is ridiculous). We took a look at Vista, but were never going to subject our network to it! Windows 7 on the other hand, is superb!
  12. Office solely as an installed application suite, quite probably in the next few years - Office webapps are a different story, I think they have a future as a corporate alternative to the Googleverse.
  13. Yup - a spate of spamming going on at the moment. It's being dealt with

    Firefox 3.6

If you mean the first webpage that appears - that's just because they haven't updated the webpage on their server yet.
  15. Looks like the final version of FireFox 3.6 is up on the FTP - though they haven't updated the site yet. Don't think there have been any changes since RC2 anyway. ftp://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/3.6/win32/en-GB/Firefox%20Setup%203.6.exe
  16. The best of wishes to all three of you! That's great news Every moment is a treasure you'll keep with you for life
  17. Going blind - Where does it say that?
  18. Played with it a bit at BETT today, and defiantly worth giving a try... great for teaching control & as an after-school activity.
  19. Darn! Stone was the one stand I forgot to visit as well!
  20. Transport willing, my Senior Tech & I should be there tomorrow. Looking forward to catching up with people!
  21. Think most people were surprised Cyrus agreed to do a 4th season, but she didn't want to leave the Hannah Montana story hanging - think Billy Ray did an interview stating that. It's definitely time to move on though - her performance of Party in the USA caused trouble because people thought she was "pole dancing", the Vanity Fair pictures caused an uproar, her choice of boyfriends has been questionable, she's moving into adulthood, and can't keep up the squeaky-clean image needed for Hannah Montana any more. The trailer for The Last Song looks good, and some of her later music sounds OK, the Tennessee drawl is actually not to bad. Same goes for the rest of the cast, Emily Osment is releasing an album soon I think as well.
  22. Ditto! Like gold dust those! Got a nice selection of equipment there DB! Should be there on Thursday, all things permitting. Looking forward to it.
  23. My deputy has and swears by it. Got the Cyclone Micro myself, and for a little device, it's superb. Their stuff just seems to work brilliantly.
  24. It's against their Terms of Service - we have this argument with staff frequently. "Why won't you download it for me? Everyone else is doing it!". The difference is at work we're doing it as a representative of the school, and no matter how daft we may think it is, however much we may do it as an individual, we have to follow the letter of the law. "You agree not to access User Videos (as defined below) for any reason other than your personal, non-commercial use solely as intended through and permitted by the normal functionality of the Services, and solely for Streaming. "Streaming" means a contemporaneous digital transmission of the material by YouTube via the Internet to a user operated Internet enabled device in such a manner that the data is intended for real-time viewing and not intended to be downloaded (either permanently or temporarily), copied, stored, or redistributed by the user." YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.
