  1. A bit out of price range perhaps, but I've just got myself the new Dell XPS 13 - glorious piece of kit.
  2. We've just had a trial and had it happen to us during it as well...
  3. I'd highly recommend System Professional - only have experience of their virtualisation work, but it was very professional (no pun intended) and they certainly know what they're doing. Concerns with EIS as above - very pushy for wanting to put their own solutions in, KLZ etc., and not convinced about their skills set. ADM - Opinion seems to vary, have spoken to people who sing their praises, but have had experience of them doing 3 projects in different schools, and each one has been horrendous.
  4. Apart from PowerAmp... MediaMonkey (with added brilliance if you use the desktop version (iTunes without the carp), with syncing)... M8 here with Lollipop... runs great... iPhone does have a niche for those that want simplicity, but flexibility of Android will always win out for me. Personally I'd wait and see what the M9 comes out as has been suggested.
  5. If I'm in law enforcement, I'm going to put my trust in a police dog during an altercation, rather than anything "faith based"!
  6. 8.1 and Start8 here on my desktop and all our staff laptops as well. Never use Metro at all!
  7. Have you seen the document here? Might be of help... http://www.edugeek.net/forums/wireless-networks/108877-ruckus-guest-access-3.html#post1138295
  8. What are your clients on VLAN30 using as their Default Gateway? If you want your clients to communicate outside of their subnet - both within your site and on the Internet, you're going to need to setup your core switch to handle the routing.
  9. Evernote for organisation/knowledge base, PSPad for code, BluMind for project planning, Excel for scripting, ConEmu for command line work.
  10. We have a Sahara Lectern with Audio (Sahara Lectern with Audio | Sahara Presentation Systems PLC) which comes with a detachable lamp module. Alas the lamp module has been vandalised and a replacement is needed - preferably without having to replace the whole lectern! We've called around a few companies, but have not had any success. Does anyone have a particularly good Sahara reseller they use they could recommend please? Thanks.
  11. Yes please mate
  12. Yes, we got it as well. They're basically saying that VL customers (inc. EES) that had purchased FEP were being inadvertently given FOPE as well without having paid for it.
  13. InstEd has row reference tracking which is quite useful - IIRC Orca doesn't.
  14. Sky LLU - Flawless (touch wood)
  15. Gif here too... if it was meant to be pronounced Jif then they'd have made the extension .jif!!!
  16. Yup... got one too... fairly amusing, but awkward to use as a proper notepad! Although the letter and book reference our AM who left the company a few weeks ago!
  17. Nagios & Cacti - All free and fairly easy to set up if you have a tiny bit of Linux knowledge.
  18. Ta - sounds worth a watch when I get home.
  19. Going? I think it's already gone.
  20. Read all the books, watch the Swedish movies... pretend they never did an American version... all is right with the world...
  21. Happy birthday
  22. Very clever - the video is definately worth a watch. I've been agonising over a Kindle for a while now. I buy a lot of books and find myself needing a new bookshelf every 6 months at the moment! Having all my books on one device is very tempting, but then as has been said, I like the feel of books, the fun of going into a bookshop... plus the incidences of Amazon making books disappear off peoples Kindles a few years ago causes me a little bit of a concern. Now... if they could come up with packages where you get both the Kindle and the physical book... AND (next-gen thinking here!) some electrical bookmark in the physical book to tell you what page you're up to on the Kindle so I could read the physical book at home and the Kindle on the train... now that's an idea...
  23. Ooooow! I'm loving these promos lol! I'll take a pizza please! Thank you
  24. RBC's can be a right pain for this - I'd be tempted to ask the Head to write a letter to the Head of the RBC clearing stating what is required, and the deadline when it will be done by, and that if this cannot be done, access should be provided to the school forthwith. Some RBC's get it in their heads that they're somehow doing US a favour... they forget we're paying for a service and we expect it to support what the SCHOOL requires, not them.
  25. I've talked with them in the past - they seem on the level.
