I just remember going to one area and they were all brummies! Ahh, the Bloody Baron in Velen...

I just remember going to one area and they were all brummies! They could've gone for different European accents in the show. German, Polish, Russian, "Scandinavian" etc.

I just remember going to one area and they were all brummies! In final fantasy 14 there's a region full of people with yorkshire accents. I liked "Messiah" on netflix . It's more investigative than spiritual. if it was the other way round I don't think I'd like it.

But no, not only is the Doctor a bit of a wuss, but she has now worked out that she can go back in time to put things in place to make things happen/rescue people in the future. Well - duh That's always been possible but sort of ignored as it makes the whole program concept pointless... And once again with the PC history lesson, Ada Lovelace et al

And once again with the PC history lesson, Ada Lovelace et al I didn't mind Ada and Noor, but felt that the "moral" of Ep 3 was about as subtle as a brick in the face. Not to mention that when The Doctor used the Vulcan Mind Meld on the Dreg, the team must have realised that "Climate Change" wasn't easy to depict and threw a bunch of explosions in. Admittedly, this was slightly covered by "...leading to war", but the visuals didn't convey CC as the main factor. Also, what's this "alternate timelines" malarkey? I always thought that there was only one timeline, albeit full of contradictions?

The 13th Doctor has next to no character, and the epic scale, interesting, unsettling and even downright scary stories that DW had before are no more.

I have no issue with moral episodes, but when it's shoving it right in your face it's breaking the fourth wall in the worst way possible.

I watched all of last season, and after Ep1 of this season I don't really find myself inclined to continue. I remember seeing a post on Reddit that summarised quite well, but I'm rewriting from memory and expanding from my own personal bias.. Take Matt Smith for example. In the very first episode we learned that: He's a bit quirky (fish fingers and custard) He's very good at probing questions and figuring out situations, even if it appears he's sidetracked (box falls out of sky, man falls out of box, man eats fish custard, and just look at you.. so it must be a really scary crack in your wall) He's good at breaking down situations, figuring out what's 'wrong' and investigating why it's wrong (figuring out the perception filter in the house, noticing Rory videoing the old man rather than the sun going dark) He sets himself up as a bit of a 'joker' (chiding the laptop guy about his browsing habits) But also immediately conveys he is the authority in the room (providing the equation for light-speed travel(I think?)) Before immediately going back to being a 'joker' by sending a joke. He then shows his intelligence again by programming a virus that lures the Atraxi to Prisoner Zero, as well as displaying his selflessness by putting himself in harms way to do so. Finally, he displays his darker side by using his authority of being a Time Lord to threaten the Atraxi and send them packing, never to return. And what do we learn about the companion, Amy? We learn she's afraid of getting married and settling down, she dreams for more, she's ready to charge head-first into adventure, she's resourceful and smart (using the police kiss-a-gram outfit). In comparison? After an entire season of Jodie and friends, what do we know about them? The Doctor is toothless, constantly confused, and doesn't really know all that much. She's constantly flapping about and whilst she admittedly does have a few brilliant notes, it's mostly much of nothing. She made the screwdriver, which is awesome since usually they're provided by the TARDIS, but then she never really used those ghetto-jury-rigging skills again? Oh, and letting a bunch of mutant spiders starve to death in a panic room is better than finding a way to take them to another planet to live. There's that? Graham's grieving the loss of his wife. So is his step-grandson. They eventually share a bit of a bond, which is a really heartwarming piece of character development, but that's kind of it. Ryan dispatches the space-racist to no consequence. Okay, Bradley Walsh's performance in the mirror universe episode was absolutely phenomenal, and his willingness to kill Tim Shaw was believable, but that's kind of it. And he's the best companion out of the three. Ryan doesn't like him, then slowly does. But that's about it? Okay he's funny sometimes (We don't serve Mexicans.. Well that's OK, 'cause I don't eat them) but he doesn't really display much of the 'urban youth' he's obviously portrayed as. And his dyspraxia that was shown in Ep1? Where's that gone? It was set up like a large plot point and then... nothing. And Yaz? Er.. She's a cop? But she doesn't really do much cop-things like investigating? And that's kind of it? Oh, and she implied she was Muslim in one episode, so there's that. So that's basically my beef with Jodie so far. I really like Jodie as The Doctor. The style is right, and she's shown she really could do it 'properly' if she had the writing to back it up. But she doesn't. So I blame the writers, through-and-through. (Ooops, this ended up being a significantly larger rant than expected...) 3

If this writer and doctor combo continue to sink i can see the Beeb cancelling Dr Who for another 20 odd years. 1st 2 episodes i loved, the 3rd was ok, not great. If you have Netflix and haven't seen it yet then I can highly recommend it. IIRC, it was @ZeroHour who flagged it up for me. Essentially it's about a group of net sleuths who, disgusted at the behaviour of a man who killed cats then published himeself doing it online, set out to find him, then discover his beaviour is headed for something far, far worse. Oh, and this is a true story!!

It doesn't show the actual killings, but everything up until then, and then later on it shows what he did to two of them. Then later on it gets quite....well, I wouldn't watch this if you are of a sensative disposition. Even I was swearing at the screen at this guys behaviour and having to look away at times. This isn't done for shock value I think, but rather so you can get a feel for the state of mind of the perpatrator. 1

TBF, they are easily skipped and plenty of notice is given and they take up no more than a ferw mins total from the three hours run time. The main bulk of the staory is the hunt for the person, and this is what makes it so compelling.
