mavhc Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 Episode 11 of Mr Robot S4. I had to check there were still two more episodes to go as I think they could have ended it there quite successfully! I just found out in the Mr Robot universe their weekdays are offset by 1, when it's Sun on 1st Jan here, it's Monday in Mr Robot. That's an insane level of production detail for something 99% of people don't even notice
garethEds Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 Things I am watching at the moment and enjoying.. The Mandalorian New Amsterdam The Morning Show Gareth

mavhc Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 How on Earth did you notice that?! Inconsistencies with the details at the end of 4x11 (it keeps being 11:16, but it's not) led me to people who'd already noticed it
LeMarchand Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 New Amsterdam Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as an immortal cop or Ryan Eggold as a surgeon? The former was rather good, but hard to track down now.
Patrick Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 I'm on episode 2 of The Expanse and it's great. So happy Amazon took it on.

Rob_D Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 Started watching The Witcher today. Loved the music\score and Henry Cavill makes a great Geralt.
mikeprice Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 Started watching The Witcher today. Loved the music\score and Henry Cavill makes a great Geralt. Just seen a clip on the Graham Norton show Really did NOT make me want to pay money to get a subscription to watch it!!

ICTDirect_Dave Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Witcher Episode 1 was a sold start. Brutal in places gorgeous in others. That single-shot fight scene towards the end was a thing of beauty!

mikeprice Posted December 26, 2019 Posted December 26, 2019 Just been watching Paddington 2 (wofe's choice - she seems to have a thing for kids films at the moment????) awesome British cast overacting for all they are worth - Hugh Grant was amazingly over the top perfect!!

That's not a tv show though. I learned there's a tv movie for Invader Zim that was out 6 months ago and no one told me.
witch Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 In the interests of PC and equal rights, I am not allowed to drool over Geralt in The Witcher So I won't......
mikeprice Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 (edited) In the interests of PC and equal rights, I am not allowed to drool over Geralt in The Witcher So I won't...... This is a professional forum so blatant untruths are not allowed!!! although if you can find a way to stop Mrs mikeprice drooling over whathisname on Peaky Blinders that would be good just stopping her using the phrase "sex on legs" would be nice Edited December 28, 2019 by mikeprice 1
mavhc Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 Just finished The Expanse S4, I'd call it the start of part 2 of the story
CHiLL Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 The Witcher I really enjoyed it. Sure, some of the effects were off and the eyes weren't consistent (they used CGI for Yennifer's eyes, but seemed to use contacts for Henry Cavill, which has the usual issue pupil dialation...or lack thereof!). I can see Cavill has mouled his portrayal around The Witcher 3's version of Geralt, mainly with the voice. I don't think it'll be the new GoT that Netflix hopes it is, but I liked it and I'm looking forward to Season 2. Draclula I like the other Gaitis/Moffat shows, Doctor Who and Sherlock and I also liked this. Claes Bang was really good, though I couldn't get over his likeness to a mix of Piers Brosnan/Timothy Dalton!
witch Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 Dracula Loved the first two episodes - but last one was a mess. I never did get what was going on - so Dracula was afraid of death but wanted to die then? What?? As for The Witcher being a new GoT - I hope not - never could get in to GoT but I love The Witcher
LeMarchand Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 Enjoying The Witcher. My only real problem is that I'm not feeling Cavill as Geralt. His acting is fine, but that wig... The scene where he's in that "tornado" in the castle (Ep 4) and holding his head had us all questioning as to whether he was making sure the wig didn't blow off. Nitpicking: The "regional" accents are bit off-putting. I can understand wanting a "name" for Geralt, but it doesn't feel very "Polish" with so many British accents. Also some of the dialogue feels anachronistic, and the lady playing Triss seemed to be pulling very "Noughties" facial expressions. Otherwise, it's great.
ICTDirect_Dave Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 Triss seemed to be pulling very "Noughties" facial expressions. Otherwise, it's great. That'll be because she cut her acting teeth in the cauldron of talent that is Hollyoaks!
CHiLL Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 (edited) The "regional" accents are bit off-putting. I can understand wanting a "name" for Geralt, but it doesn't feel very "Polish" with so many British accents. I haven't read the books or played the first two games, so I can't comment on those - but regional accents are a big thing in The Witcher 3 as each area has it's own accents to distinguish the people. I just remember going to one area and they were all brummies! Edited January 8, 2020 by CHiLL
