Nope, they're all pretty much awful! :) I'm having Huel currently, it's ok.. that's about it. I add bananas and stuff to it so it doesn't make me want to slit my throat. :)

I usually mix it in with yoghurt or add it to recipes, but I can detect it in yoghurt if it tastes gross!

Anyone got any recommendations for a decent vanilla protein powder that does not taste like wet towels, is not extremely overloaded with sugar and for a reasonable price?

Why are so many IT people fatties?

You dont understand how a job that primarily involves sitting at a desk for long hours researching may result in weight gain????

I don't think they necessarily are any fatter but it might be because the nature of the beast has them sat down staring into a computer all day at work and then all night playing fallout4 or whatever.

I spent most of my day sat in a chair fixing issues so have put some weight on I accept that, in my last job I had 2 sites so was walking around campus which was 3/4 mile long from top to bottom of the main site due to the hill and tehn across the road to the lower site etc... In my current job jumping on planes to fix issues miles away isn't cost effective and teleporters haven't been invented yet for me so I have to sit at a desk on a phone explaining how to do something to someone 1000 miles away or controlling the screen remotely for them to do it....

I would suspect something similar could be said for PAs and other roles that involve sitting in a chair in one place for most of the day but this is a forum of IT people so risk is quite high.... however you get amazing people like @Joanne who's a body builder who does crazy things when not sat in a chair all day!

I started running this week. The last time I ran was when I was playing football 20 years ago but had to stop after a sking injury. Taking it slowly to start with, 1.2 miles on Monday and 1.5 last night.

I'm using my fitness pal to track my eating. It is actually making me think about portion size - eg/ ikea meatballs, when I scanned them in it said 1 portion was 5 meat-a-balls so I had 5. Normally I'd have more like... 10.

I lost 4lbs over the holidays, but I think that might be more due to muscle loss

For as many years as I can care to remember my food intake during a working day consisted of a bag of crisps and a chocolate bar around 11/11.20 and then a pastie at lunchtime with a piece of fruit.

I decided this year I need to change my bad habits somewhat....

I no longer bring crisps or a chocolate bar to work with me!

I still have a snack at 11, but it's a cereal bar.

For lunch this week I've had 3-4 pieces of fruit plus either, Monday a chicken pasta dish from Sainsburies, Tuesday - cheese roll made at home in the morning, Wednesday - left over chilli from the night before reheated in the microwave in my office and today I have some soup.

On days when I don't go football training (Wednesday and Fridays) or have a Sunday (vets) match I do between 10 & 25k on a cheapo exercise bike I've purchased.

I'm 46 years old, 6 feet 1 and probably not considered over-weight, I don't drink or smoke but I am hoping these few subtle changes might just make me feel more healthy....as long as I can keep it going....

I lost weight over the holidays, seriously annoyed about it. Anyone who lifts and trains will tell you weight loss like that is muscles loss. >:(

Wanted to take a fight this year but i'm doubting myself if i'm ready or not.

sounds good but be careful about eating too much fruit - it can be quite calorific. A handful of nuts would be better than a cereal bar as most of them have a lot of sugar and fat and aren't much different to eating a chocolate bar.

Decided to start weighing myself this year (Will weight in on a sat morning). A worry I have is that it will become a focus - my brother and I joined the gym 2 months back with the aim of getting in better shape for a weeks mountain walking up in Skye. Do you lot find weighing in each week becomes addictive? I've dropped 1 belt hole since we started (and at that awkward point where I'm now between the next one!) and I can do my top buttons up on a couple of shirts I couldn't before, however none of this was done to monitor progress, just a side effect as such.

I will weigh myself every 2 weeks on a sunday morning (gotta do it at the same time). I will measure waist every week. I find weight doesn't matter, but inches do!

I was pleasantly surprised when weighing myself in the new year. Injury has prevented me going to the gym, but I went out for a walk for a minimum of 35 minutes every day without fail throughout the period.

Ate heartily, drank more than usual. Weight gain 1lb :) And that's gone now :)

Hopefully back in the gym in the next week.

I was hoping to get back to the gym and ballet this week, after two weeks basking in the Aussie sun :) but the day I got back, my body decided it didn't like the Pommie weather and I've gone down with a case of the runs :( I hope to get back to it all next week. It will be interesting to see how many pull ups I can do, or can't - I was doing 8 sets of 8 before I left but I imagine they've dropped off a lot.

Yeah i struggle with pull ups, as my weight has gone up from training my ability to do pull ups has gone down, as i'm moving more weight.

Never could do pull-ups

I was shocked at how much fitness I had lost over the 2 weeks of Christmas. I never weigh myself so I don't know whether I have put on anything and my weights work was fine, but the cardio! I couldn't even finish the 10mins warmup on the bike or the 1 min fast row between sets :(

Decided to give up drinking fizzy pop... been tired the past few days because of it though i think aha, though i do have some dilute at work now :)

Thought it would be better now at 19 than later down the line :)
