Joanne Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 @Joanne I have my eggs poached on wholemeal toast. That fills you up and avoids the lactose. You don't need spread on the toast either as the yolk moistens the toast Didn't really have a choice as it was a buffet breakfast! @ZeroHour I was a bit wary of taking it with me too, but I'm sure it would be fine! 1
cherd84 Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Morning all. Thought this was the most relevant place to post the following question. Does anybody know roughly how much it is to buy sprung flooring, similar to sports halls, etc? I've found a couple of companies via Google that sell it, inc. reclaimed flooring but I'd just like a rough idea how much per sq metre/ft it is. Attempting to kit out at least a section of my garage which is currently concrete floor and make it a bit more easy for high impact movements like in Insanity, for example.
Arreks Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 I'm glad you're both enjoying Huel @ZeroHour et @Joanne, most people who I speak to who also have used it said how much they hated it I should've used their referral thing.. 2

cherd84 Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Thanks @unixman_again I'll have a look at Harlequin. Considered the interlocking mats, etc but even the best of them I've seen seem to separate and/or slide a bit during the faster lateral movements.
MrMat Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 (edited) No updates in here for quite a while now! Over the past few months I've been focusing on losing a bit of weight while trying to maintain/gain strength. So lots and lots of compound lifts for me! Training schedule has become: Monday - Heavy Bench (sets of 3), usual auxilary chest work Tuesday - Heavy squat (alternating weeks - either sets of 3 or sets of singles), light deadlift and leg press Thursday - Heavy overhead press, usual other shoulder stuff Friday - Deadlift (same as heavy squat), light squat. Saturday - Arms There's cardio thrown in their sporadically too. My Diet has changed quite a bit too. Overall calories are down, less carbs per meal etc. I don't really figure out my macros, just try and be sensible with what i eat. So far, it's working well. I'm down from 16 stone 3 lbs to 15 stone 5 lbs and all my lifts have gone up (slightly!). Deadlift = 190kg Squat = 175Kg (180 is coming!!!) Bench = 125kg Overhead press (strict) = 80kg How's everyone else getting on? Progress? Edited May 27, 2016 by MrMat
Joanne Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 That's impressive! My 9 hole round of golf has gone from 85 down to 71.... (golf is exercise... right?!?!)

Patrick Posted May 27, 2016 Author Posted May 27, 2016 I'm supposed to be having my first cage fight next weekend. Hurt my lower back on Tuesday, praying I don't have to pull out.

The most I have deadlifted is 100kg 7 reps, I only do dumbell bench which my current best is with two 32kg dumbells 10 reps, overhead dumbell press two 22kg dumbells 13 reps (find it hard to lift up any heavier into position) and never Squat. 5 foot 7 in inches and just over 11 stone. Cant do anything about my height unfortunately! Form does concern me with Deadlifting but I think I have it ok. Its currently my favourite excercise. Edited May 27, 2016 by aarono

Ahaha I wouldn't go that far but thanks man You should squat! Squats are great once you get used to them and can have a real knock-on effect on your other lifts. Try recording yourself if you're worried about your Deadlift. If you're anything like me you'll feel like a bit of a pleb filming yourself but honestly, seeing yourself from the side really helps to spot any poor technique etc. I didn't realise how much my hips shot up until i recorded myself and then made effort to correct. 1

Whats your body weight? Edit: Obviously i can't read. nvm. 1
Seb1780 Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 5 foot 7 in inches and just over 11 stone. Cant do anything about my height unfortunately! Precious McKenzie was only 4'9" - he was multiple times Commonwealth Champion (and a seemingly permanent feature of Blue Peter in my youth)

I might try recording myself when its a bit quiet just to be sure. As for the squat, I cant see where I would fit it into my weekly routine. I would have to drop a couple of excercises to fit in it in. My routine from 6.20 - 7.10am... Monday: Deadlift, other back bits, little biceps Tuesday: Bench Press, other chest bits, little triceps Wednesday: Say in bed! Thursday: Shoulders Press, other shoulder bits Friday: ARMS!
Haptic Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Personally, I've found the youtube channel - Athlean X - To be a hugely useful source of advice and tips on effective workout methods. Jeff Cavaliere FTW Joe
unixman_again Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Personally, I've found the youtube channel - Athlean X - To be a hugely useful source of advice and tips on effective workout methods. I find the shouty bloke really annoying. Form does concern me with Deadlifting but I think I have it ok. Its currently my favourite excercise. Form should be top of the agenda no matter what exercise your doing. My favourite exercise is pullups - I usually stop at 8 sets of 8, through boredom. I could keep going all day, since nobody ever wants to use the chinup bar! There were two at my last gym - one was on the front of the squat rack which was a bit inconvenient. Where I go now, there is a functional rig with lots of bars for chinups. It's pretty much mine.

Jeff Cavaliere FTW Joe I'm more of a fan of Supertraining; 'Supertraining DOT TV, the strongest gym in the west'. It's Mark Bell from Bigger, Stronger, Faster fame. It's a great channel with lots of good information, and they don't take themselves to seriously. They also get some ace guests who really know their stuff (Ed Coen, Pete Rubish, Brian Shaw etc). It's been my 'go-to' channel for improving technique on Bench, Squat and Deads. My favourite exercise is pullups - I usually stop at 8 sets of 8, through boredom. Patrick Posted June 6, 2016 Author Posted June 6, 2016 Well i lost my MMA fight. Bit gutted and down in the dumps about it today.
MrMat Posted June 6, 2016 Posted June 6, 2016 Well i lost my MMA fight. Bit gutted and down in the dumps about it today. Ahh dude that sucks! On the plus side though, with first loss out of the way the first victory will taste even sweeter! 1
Patrick Posted June 6, 2016 Author Posted June 6, 2016 I know what i need to improve, my ground game and take down defense just wasn't good enough. On the feet i was winning, then i got taken down. I'll train even harder this time.
Tesla Posted June 6, 2016 Posted June 6, 2016 Anyone on here a dab hand at badminton? Used to play years ago, with coaching etc, haven't touched it for ages (mainly due to shin splints), played with the old man last week while off work (and lost :[ ), and think i have caught the bug again.
Tesla Posted June 6, 2016 Posted June 6, 2016 Well i lost my MMA fight. Bit gutted and down in the dumps about it today. Unlucky, there's always going to be one loser. As long as you've learned(?) something from it, you haven't truly lost... ( Just call me Gandhi.)
