  1. Hi all, Hoping someone has a solution for this. Apologies also if this post appears twice, I thought I'd posted it already but lost it in the forums somewhere. So if doing for anything in Google, video results that are on YouTube can be played by pressing the expand button on the thumbnail. Is there a way of turning this off without turning off video search results entirely? In an isolation room, YouTube is blocked but students have figured out this way round it as the URL for the video is a Google one rather than a YouTube one. I haven't found a GPO or setting that can disable this feature and I don't think blocking Google would go down very well. We use Impero here if anybody has a method of blocking using this. Thanks
  2. Hi @Protec. I think you get Broadband Shield as part of your Sky Broadband package. Forgive me if you've already done this but have you logged into that as I think you can block individual sites on there when you log in to their web interface?
  3. Alas, the teachers lost patience with it so we've changed the board before I could work through any more steps. I'll keep an eye out and refer back to this if our other older boards have the issue but they are end of life so c'est la vie :-(
  4. Thanks for the tips. I'll check the firmware and get a laptop rigged up to it if I can without getting in the way of the teachers. We've recently gone to 20H2 but the BSoD was occurring from 1909 onwards throughout the site and we ended up installing the unofficial driver referenced here - AC1, AC2, ActivHub, ActivSlate, ActivExpressions BSoD Windows 10 1903 – Promethean Community (prometheanworld.com) I can't rule out this PC in particular but worth noting that our teacher desktops (HP all in ones) are the same model in every room and we have other 1st/2nd gen boards dotted around that are working without issue. Worst case scenario is that I have a newer board we can put up which wouldn't be the end of the world as this one is EoL.
  5. It's currently running V3.17 build 3
  6. I'll get this shortly for your reference. However, on revisiting the room, the USB cable was very taut and looked like it was only forming a partial connection on the back of the board. After letting some cable out, it seems to have settled down but we're keeping an eye on it.
  7. I've received reports that it's still occurring. Bit of a head scratcher!
  8. Drivers had been done (it's the unofficial driver with it being a 2nd gen board - needed following some Windows updates causing a blue screen). I've reinstalled Activ Inspire today although the department this room belongs to only use Powerpoint. I've given the board a once over and there's no obvious damage/rogue tinsel from Christmas. The proof will be in the pudding!
  9. Hi, We have a classroom with a 2nd gen Activboard. We have an issue where activ calibrate keeps popping up repeatedly every 10-15 mins. This occurs if teacher completes the calibration or cancels it off. Any suggestions? Thanks
  10. Sorted this. It seems that the teachers tried a few times to install the certificate. There appeared to be multiple instances of the same certificate in the 'User Certificates' section. I cleared them out and started from scratch, as soon as I installed it onto a clean slate, so to speak, it just worked.
  11. Cool. Thanks @JOrdan01070 I'll give them a ring (seeing as they haven't called me back yet!).
  12. It's a long term one. I believe it expires in 2036. I tried removing and readding the certificate also as per their advice. It can connect enough to download and install it but no joy when it comes to accessing the internet after that. Definitely to do with these devices though. They've a couple ipads that use the same cert which work without issue.
  13. Hi all, Does anyone know if an Android device needs to be up to a particular version number in order to accept a certificate from Exa in order to access the internet? I'm supporting a primary with several Samsung Galaxy A01 tablets running on Android version 8.1. I've installed Exa's certificate from a link they provided. No proxy settings are entered as per their instructions but still get the 'Connected - No internet' message on each tablet. For posterity, they connect to the internet fine on a non-Exa internet connection. Currently awaiting a reply from their support team, hence the post here. Thanks
  14. Have you tried CD Keys? Availability can be a bit poor but you can usually get some of the older games in particular for a decent price. Prices change regularly so I usually visit every few weeks to see if anything catches my eye.
  15. Hi all, Looking to get more hands on experience and training in what in the more advanced duties of a technician's role. I've stumbled across Udemy. Has anybody else taken any courses on there? Any other recommendations on labs, training sites etc? I've done CompTIA A+ and book learning for the Network+ but I find it more valuable in the real world and I find I learn better by doing.
  16. On top of the other comments re: dehumidifiers, the better ones (although not all that cheap to buy~£130 from Amazon) you can get ones where you set a % humidity so that it just clicks on when needed. They also have a 'laundry' setting if you need to dry clothes inside. If you can place it on a landing it should make a difference to upstairs although, we get a lot at home too and I tend to move it room to room. If you get one, just don't leave it running while you're in bed unless you want a severe case of cotton mouth!
  17. Just watched this beautiful video. It's a good thing I'm alone in the office at the moment!

Agreed on the trusted-client model. They're allegedly going to change it so that you're more likely to get better loot in the PvE areas and there's a new tier system for players to take a look at. It might end up just making the DZ more of a no go area if there's little point going in there for loot and they don't get a grip on the cheats. Full vid below explaining all.

Anybody still playing? It's become my go to game when I have a spare 30 mins. Blast through the daily challenges to save Phoenix credits for a rainy day. I'm looking forward to 1.4. If it does what it says on the tin, the game will be a bit more fun again.
  20. Nothing like an early start

I can has apps! It's the little things after having a phone with 8GB internal storage.
  22. Our office is usually pretty unbearable and it doesn't take a lot for it to warm up what with all the kit in here. Nice, gentle breeze coming in through the window at the moment though. If that drops, I'll find some jobs to do in the rooms with A/C.

Completed another play through of Deus Ex: Human Revolution before the new one comes out in August. Unlocked the Pacifist and Foxiest of Hounds achievements too

I have considered making the switch to GiffGaff but I have been scare mongered by them using O2's network and the 4G coverage isn't as good as EE's. I shall ask around some friends in my neck o' the woods to see what there's is like for those 2 networks methinks.

I'll be running it into the ground over the next few days, I'm sure! Good time to get it, last day of the school year tomorrow (and I'm term time only) so there'll be plenty of photo opps to try it out with over the next few weeks! Currently got all my apps and a system update queued until I get home. Pesky 2GB data limit.
