  1. Definitely agree, you have to start from somewhere!
  2. Had fish and chips for tea last night as rushed with life at the moment. Nice big signage saying they've moved over to biodegradable boxes which is great, but they still have plastic forks!
  3. Put myself on the list for the allotments 100m down from our house. Watch this space in several years time... (then a year or so on from that!)
  4. Still got a couple of weeks left of my current bar, heading to town on Thursday for a haircut so will get another lump of it. It does work out a bit more expensive but I'm happy with the difference as it's not huge! Excellent news from a smaller coffee chain
  5. Does anyone find that you can run a route and feel you have more in you one day and then run it again another day and really struggle with it?
  6. 6.3k yesterday! Ready for Park run
  7. Went out with a friend in the rain yesterday and down an old disused railway track near us. Loads of puddles, wet feet about 5 mins in. Pushed the distance a bit and did 4.15km in just over 30 minutes which I'm happy with! Couple of weeks and I'll think about going along to the local park run, have a few friends that would be happy to go. Find it reasonably humbling that 2 of the people I go out with have done marathons (one's done an iron man) but are more than happy to sit at my pace and listen to me groan about doing short runs with them!
  8. Happily recommend Xerox devices alongside Papercut
  9. I found it a huge help to find people to do stuff with - climbing with my 2 best friends is great. I run with a few friends who I was initially scared to ask as they've done marathons (one's done an iron man!) but they've been brilliant and are happy to run at my pace and push me that bit further than I did with just myself. Swimming was good once I got into it once a week, took a little bit of time to over come self confidence with it (often try to run in the dark for this reason too!). Whatever the activity, when you've said to a friend yeah I'll do this with you it's then a lot harder to just think "nah, I'll do this another night" as someone else is relying on you!
  10. Went out in the snow on Tuesday which was a bit of fun. I didn't struggle, managed to pace myself and lungs/legs seemed just about okay (I needed to encourage myself towards the end, anyone else talk to themself?!) Was planning on going out tonight but don't think conditions will allow!
  11. It was quite pricey, will see how long it lasts!
  12. Picked up a bar of Aromaco and so far so good! Used it Saturday morning and it lasted through a reasonably heavy day of DIY, I know it's early days but I'd recommend it already! Also picked up Lush's yellow solid shower gel which I'm not overly impressed with, it doesn't seem to create any lather at all (and it made me look like a Simpons character for the duration of the shower!) Don't feel it provides any benefit over a nice smelling solid bar of soap.
  13. Our list of things so far are: - Reusable drinks containers. The Mrs takes a water bottle to work and has a travel mug that she'll either fill up or take to a coffee house to be filled. I've got a glass here at school for water to stop using the plastic disposable cups provided. - Reusable freezer bags for when we divide meat up - Solid bath products - I've gone back to solid soap and also picked up some solid shampoo. Trialling a deodorant bar this weekend... - Been on the phone to the milkman and hopefully our delivery woes are sorted now so hopefully we will be getting glass bottled milk - Buying loose fruit and veg where we can at the supermarket I'd love to buy from a grocer / butcher but neither are local and concerned about pricing as we're quite tight at the moment with saving up for our wedding next year. We're also looking into ordering some beeswax cotton sheets to use instead of cling film.
  14. Also after this if anyone has a copy!
  15. After watching Blue Planet 2 we've decided to take some small steps to reduce our plastic waste at home. We were (still are) reasonably religious about recycling as much as we can too. It gets a little bit annoying sometimes where you order a product to replace something plastic and then it comes wrapped in plastic! We ordered some reusable freezer bags (buy large trays of chicken etc and portion it into the bags) which were all individually wrapped in plastic! Currently fighting with the milkman as ordered 3 pints of milk this week but haven't had anything delivered to the dismay of the Mrs who needs to ingest large amounts of coffee to survive waking up! Interested if anyone else is trying to do similar and what tips / things have you swapped out?
  16. First run in ages last Fri, only 2.5k and as before struggled to pace myself. Completed in 20 mins so reasonably happy! Want to push it back to 5km running for the duration. Next aim after that is to push up to 10k! Off for another tonight!
  17. Clucking hell what am I going to do for dinner!
  18. Not passively on, site manager or myself respond to requests dependent on issue (site manager for generic requests, I deal with potential safeguarding issue cctv requests as on the safeguarding team as a DDSL)
  19. Used to have one per classroom and then some more in offices etc! We now have 1 desktop MFP per dept which works out about 8, 3 large MPF with stapler (staffroom in each building + a "dead" area of the building with no real printer etc in it apart from this one) and 1 120PPM mono in the print room
  20. What jmak said. Parents fitted a water hammer absorber / suppressor as the water hammer noise from the kitchen taps was dreadful. It hasn't cured it 100% but it's made it a lot better.
  21. Usually do this if I have up to 600 steps left. Usually go out after work but had to go to a residents association meeting so no time for a proper walk. Drove the Mrs crazy getting 2.5k steps in a smallish house!
  22. Down 2.3KG since the start of the year. Aside from trying to eat healthily I've also picked up a FitBit and ensure I hit a minimum of 10k steps a day every day. Sometimes I need to head out for a walk after work which is muddy but fine... however the weather well and truly turned last night and finished my last 2k steps in a torrential downpour!
  23. FTFY!!
  24. Apologies - did read that this morning! Pre-caffeinated brain!
  25. Could you restrict senders to a specific list / group? Or do you need external / unknown emails to email the distro list?
