  1. Decided to start weighing myself this year (Will weight in on a sat morning). A worry I have is that it will become a focus - my brother and I joined the gym 2 months back with the aim of getting in better shape for a weeks mountain walking up in Skye. Do you lot find weighing in each week becomes addictive? I've dropped 1 belt hole since we started (and at that awkward point where I'm now between the next one!) and I can do my top buttons up on a couple of shirts I couldn't before, however none of this was done to monitor progress, just a side effect as such.
  2. Keep it, even if it's just for people like myself who can only grow a patchy ginger beard!!!
  3. Hi all, We've got a stubborn behaviour point in SIMS - if you navigate to the students behaviour management, delete the behaviour point and click save, it just reappears! Any ideas for removing it? J
  4. Hi Nick, Sent you a drive link via PM. I know it's not a full fix, but I've just performed a find and replace on the html file, replacing 157982 with 525456 - all works through SIMS now as it should. J
  5. We have our documentation folder full of old PDFs - however we have our index file in there too! Albeit one pointing to the older documentation...
  6. Hi Nick, We're having the same issue at the moment - our links point to the summer 2014 documentation which has been removed (Assuming you get the same issue as here, click on documentation and it appears okay, click on any links and it 404s) Summer release 2015 documentation can be found here - Home , obviously not a fix but if someone needs to view it urgently can be used. J
  7. Do you have to return it with the cable... mines been permanently... filed.
  8. I've used laptopsdirect before for just the odd charger, they seem alright
  9. Any recommendations for wall mounted (standmount?) speakers + an amp for this? Only req for amp is that is has a remote!
  10. We're on a subset of Janet and are also affected
  11. We used to take note on a spreadsheet which just had the room number, toner code and date on it. Since we moved over to Papercut we've stopped making said log. As much as we're not using it to it's full potential, staff are grouped in to departments and automated reports at the end of each month go up to finance, which are done per page rather than per cartridge. Students just have a generic pot.
  12. Mrs' coat order has now been refunded. No idea who "Emma" was who signed for it at mum and dads house...
  13. Ordered the Mrs' pressie (only thing I brought on black friday weekend - it's what she wanted with £30 off!)... pleased with that. "You're parcel will be delived by Yodel" - heart sank! True to their form, it was delivered yesterday at 15:30, signed for by "Emma". My brother was in all of yesterday so unless he has a secret girlfriend who's name is Emma and she decided she wanted the coat, we're still waiting for it to turn up...
  14. Teach me your ways! What did you moan about to get all that thrown in for free!
  15. We pay around £40 at home for Virgin Interwebs (50MB) and land line, no other packages! Waiting for our letter now
  16. I use UK Laser Supplies - we went through about a month of 10+ companies telling us they're the most competitive with their toner... got fed up so I emailed them a list of what we use and told them to give me their best price. UKLS came up trumps by quite a whack.
  17. Dealt with this on Monday after receiving several emails on Friday saying the screens were flashing, handily I had Friday off..! Initial thought was 1-2 screens capacitors could have gone (old screens here tend to do this, used to repair them before we replaced an ICT suite, now we just recirculate screens from said suite), then suspected but couldn't know for definite at the time that it could be a joyful update.
  18. 1 IPTV Screen on BBC News, 1x Clock, 4x House Screens, 1x Misc screen - used to advertise events and such
  19. Rather carry a gopro up a hill than a dslr!
  20. Ta for all the suggestions, I will now duly hang my head in shame for the rest of the day!
  21. Would this be more acceptable...
  22. Before I type out the S word... A small group of friends and I went up walking in Wales this weekend (Moel Siabod!) and enjoyed the lovely weather... including rain that felt like someone was using a catapult to fling sand in your face! We often like to take a group photo of us at the summit - in the summer this isn't usually a problem for us as there are often other people about! However on some of the quieter mountains there may not always be people around... I have a lovely photo of all of us on the cantilever rock (this one isn't us) but it is missing my brother as he had to take the photo I know the cantilever rock is a bit different, do you think it would be an acceptable use of a selfie stick (for a Go Pro, not a smart phone!!!) to enable us to get a whole group photo, or should I delete my account before my name is dirt and I am shunned in to oblivion for even suggesting such a thing? J
  23. Hi all, Some of our PCs are taking a reasonable amount of time to boot up from cold in the mornings (sitting at Please Wait) While I believe there is a reasonable amount to answer for with some of the kit getting on for 7 years, I was wondering if consolidating GPO's would help speed the process along a bit? The majority of policies were created before I started here, and whilst I've created a several that were needed I haven't sorted through a lot of the existing ones (unless I've needed to edit them such as updating share locations etc). Just for use as an example - our Staff science devices OU has 5 GPOs to install 5 separate pieces of software. As all of these devices require all 5 pieces of software, and the software isn't required anywhere else, would it be best practice to consolidate these into a single GPO? If so, I think I would create a new GPO and recreate all the settings, apply it to a test OU/device to make sure all is still well, and go from there? Thoughts / opinions greatly appreciated as ever, J
  24. Just had a look in to this - there is one in the main large park near us! Mentioned it to my friend who said early next year would be a good start, so still gives me time to train up a bit and to be able to run further!
  25. Ran constantly for 1.2KM for the first time ever last night! Seem to be getting the hang of breathing a little better too..! Aiming to book myself on a 5km run at some point around April, want to find a friend to do it with as I'm scared to do it just on my own!
