I recently mentioned that we are more at risk of a cyber attack during the night and that we should turn off all equipment during those times, most adhere to that now. Not even sure if most attacks ahppen during the night but got a good response, and also the benfit that they now restart every day Worth a punt?

Visually impaired student coming in September

We use Splashtop Streamer, was recommended from the people who supported the child in another school etc. it works well, and yes I guess the staff member needs to be careful with what is on the screen etc, but that is the same for the IWB as a whole. They have got used to sharing the screen at the appropriate times and so on, the teacher can halt the stream to the ipad easily. There are sometimes issues with connectivity but not very often and the app on the desktop needs to be restarted, about once a term i reckon, as the child moves between year groups I just move the app. Its inexpensive and helps the individual too, we also got them the biggest screen Ipad we could, which helps too. -
Infotone here for the last at least 15 years, brilliant service, fill the form in, they send a date and a label, box em up, they collect job done all at no cost. We buy all our toners from them, no one has ever beaten the pricing, get freebies in every box to keep the sugar levels going also

Can't see any drives to install Windows Server

As above, my server earlier this year, set the RAID up first then had to login to Dell with the asset tag to find some of the drivers to allow my OS to install. -
Contacting and Updating RM Safety Net
paulellam replied to JonnyAlpha's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
We use RM SafetyNet for our filtering, but use Smoothwall Monitor for the reporting, works perfectly for us. Smoothwall monitor will report far quicker than Safetynet, but SafetyNet does a great filtering job. -
Happy Birthday Dave! Have a fab day!

Action1 - RMM tool recommendation
paulellam replied to nikaso's topic in Network and Classroom Management
Action 1 works well for me, takes no real learning to use, and can control updates to OS and apps really well, the 100 free licences are a bonus. -
HELP - Network issues and outside help
paulellam replied to ITGuyNW's topic in Learning Network Manager
Happened to me when an AP went bonkers, happened during the day etc. I did as someone else suggested worked from the core outwards. Disconnected all links to remote cabs, and slowly added them back in, once it went bonkers again, disconnected that link, the went to the cab where the issue seemed to be, un patched everything, plugged in one by one till the system started to play up again and bingo. The AP was an older one, so just replaced it. -

We use Splashtop Classroom we have a few licences for the specific mirroring for our VI children, screen mirrored form teacher direct to the ipad pro, works great, not expensive either. Somewhere I have a list of apps to achieve this that the specialist provided who deals with VI and classroom tech, I,ll post when I dig it out.
