Thank you for the update! We are currently trialling changing the power management settings for the dock in device manager, to see if that makes any difference. We found it on a thread here: Thinkbook-15-G2-ITL-Flickering-Dual-Screens-with-ThinkPad-USB-C-Dock-Gen-2 - English Community - LENOVO COMMUNITY

Glad to hear we're not the only ones experiencing issues with the Lenovo USB-C gen2 docks (and our Lenovo Yoga laptops)! We have over a hundred of these, and they've been a pain in the wotsit since the moment we purchased them almost a year ago. The main issue we have is in office scenarios when the user has two external monitors plugged into the dock. The screens will flicker black every now and then, and occasionally just lose connection altogether until the dock/laptop is rebooted. We've tried various dock firmware upgrades / lenovo yoga GPU driver updates / different monitor brands / different monitor connections / making sure nothing else is plugged into the dock drawing power. Sometimes it seems to fix itself for a while, and then the issue comes back again. We have a lot of very, very unhappy bunnies here. For laptops and docks that cost so much to purchase, we've been distinctly unimpressed - both with the performance of the dock and the reliability of the laptops.

Sharepoint for Staff drive and Iamcloud Drive mapper
Network_Boy replied to maxrebo's topic in Cloud Services
We use CDM and have been for about 2 years. We found the native Onedrive sync to be completely unreliable, and PCs would run like a dog when trying to sync every change made across the whole school Sharepoint drives. CDM is much better. We have had a few issues with it. 1. We use 2FA for the Microsoft authentication with CDM, which sometimes goes awry - requiring the stored credentials to be removed from credential manager locally. Once done, it usually signs back in fine. 2. Any software that relies on the 'My Documents' folders being locally stored will bork out. We don't see to be able to get Adobe CC programs working, and IAM Cloud and Adobe both sorted of ended up saying it was each other's fault. Not assigning any blame to either party, but the long and short of it is - we can't get Adobe apps working with CDM running. 3. Sometimes CDM won't pick up the license key. We use Intune and push the key out via a Powershell script which runs on login, but this doesn't always seem to work. I imagine this is an Intune failing rather than CDM, though. 4. Some files don't appear in File Explorer CDM drives - but they are there when you look at the location from Sharepoint in a browser. As mentioned previously in this thread - it seems to be to do with the file path character length limitation (250 characters I think) in File Explorer. However - this will not always manifest itself uniformly/expectedly. For instance, we had a user report this exact problem, but there were files with names longer than the one that was missing in the same folder, and the longer file names WERE appearing in File Explorer. It's a head-scratcher. -
Well stone the crows - the company we purchased from replied and kindly sent over a custom MSI they had made for us, with the serial and unlock codes built in. Working like a charm through Intune. If anyone would like the contact details of the chap who sent it over, PM me.

I just used regshot to record the registry changes after Circuit Wizard installation. Just the 30,629 registry keys added....

Unfortunately copying the installed files from C:\Program Files (x86) to another client didn't work. When the program is launched, a pop-up appears saying that it hasn't been installed correctly. Oh well! I've emailed the company who make/sell this, but judging from the previous posts on this thread, I'm not expecting a helpful answer (if any).

Good idea. I shall try that tomorrow and report back.

*MASSIVE BUMP APOLOGIES* One of our members of staff has just purchased this software and asked us to deploy to student machines. As stated earlier in this thread - the silent switches do not work, there is no way to enter the serial and unlock codes as part of a silent install, and the installation instructions provided are still the same and ask end users to create their own MSI. Nice!... I have tried extracting the MSI from the windows temp folder during a manual exe install, but when the extracted MSI is run, I just get the error “1: This installation can not be run by directly launching the MIS package; you must run the setup.exe.” I really don't fancy having to run around and install this manually.

Our users are having a problem where when they forward/reply an email thread to an external email recipient, the recipient can't see the previous thread - only the body of the email they have just been sent. When the same email thread is forwarded to an internal recipient, they can see the previous thread just fine. I have tested this myself and when I check my sent items, those emails sent to external recipients DO NOT show the previous email thread, whereas those sent to internal recipients do. When you are composing the email, the thread shows and looks as though it will be sent. This behaviour is the same whether sent from Outlook desktop or OWA. The settings in local Outlook itself look fine, in that if you go to File > Options > Mail > Replies and forwards - the settings in here are set to "Include original message text". Which is leading me to think it might be a setting in Exchange/Security Admin Center. Is anyone having the same issue / know the fix? TIA.

Sorry to bump an old thread. We also have the Lenovo Gen 2 docks in all of our teaching rooms and offices, and they're proving a nightmare. In the offices, which generally have two external monitors connected to the dock, one or both of the monitors will intermittently go black and come back on during use, or just turn off completely - resulting in a restart of the dock and laptop to get it working again. We have the latest dock firmware on the docks, and the latest dock driver installed on the laptops. It doesn't seem to matter whether monitors are connected via HDMI or DisplayPort. Has anyone managed to find a solution?

[1903, au] A number of my Win10 devices are restarting after a BUG CHECK!

Tried the overinstall of driver 5.18.16 method again today on a different HP PC, and this didn't work. On this PC you can see the board in device manager, but the Activ driver config panel can't see any board connected. Also, the firmware upgrade utility for the board couldn't see any board connected. Tearing my hair out with this! -

UPDATE: Tried again on another Dell Optiplex 9020 today. Managed to get it to finally recognise the board by first installing Activ driver 5.7.23 (the last version with serial support), restarting, then installing Activ driver 5.18.16 (the special no BSOD driver) over the top, with no uninstall of 5.7.23. For some reason this has worked. Will try and test on some more machines and see if I get the same result. -

We're still struggling with getting our old gen2 serial port activ boards to be recognized. We've installed the 5.18.16 driver as per the instructions (disabling secure boot/driver enforcement). This has worked on a couple of PCs, but doesn't work more often than not. I've also tried updating the board firmware to 2.87, but this had no effect. We're on Win10 build 2004, on dell optiplex 7040 and 9020 PCs. Does anyone have any tips / tricks? We're all pulling our hair out at this point. TIA.
