This terrible software is just a pain. From anyone who's had to install it and create shortcuts to the public profile user area, to the old version that needed a portable sql client and .net3.5 with it. The software today had 4 errors in an exam, this is in a room of 8 candidates. It takes over 20 seconds before any feedback is provided when you run the program, (so many pupils ended up loading it twice) This is especially nice as one instatnce will eventually load full screen so you can't clear the other. We had the software say that the pupils code was invalid only to accept it if you tried accept again. (no new inputs, verified myself) (this on two clients) We had 4 clients load with no progress bar for over 4 minutes with 2 coming back with an 815 error "index was out of bounds of the array" The other 2 we moved to other PCs as it wouldn't clear. (wasn't sure if the session was started or not)

http://c0373252.cdn.cloudfiles.rackspacecloud.com/product-images/cyber-clean/cyber-clean_alt2.jpg Whilst at BETT 2010, I had a chat with a guy about Cyber Clean. Basically, this anti-bacterial putty can be used for cleaning keboards, mice, kepads, etc... anything you touch with your fingers (except touch-screens). After a chat about how it comes in various sizes of container at various prices and about the benefits of using it over regular cleaning materials (e.g. foam cleaner or cleaning wipes), the guy offered me a sachet worth approx. £6. This sachet is meant to be good for cleaning about 50 keyboards so my immediate thought was it wasn't cheap stuff! Paul (my apprentice) and I have just evaluated the product and were quite disappointed! Although the putty-like substance does indeed work its way between keys and into crevices, it doesn't actually clean the surfaces! We even followed the two-stage instructions on the back of the packet... 'Just press & pull!" Even trying to de-dust equipment resulted in disappointment - blowing over the surfaces removed more dust!!! Next I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and clean the keyboard with AF Maxiclene first, using the Cyber Clean as an antibacterial cleaner afterwards. To be honest, I don't think it was worth the effort! To sum up, the product seemed like a brilliant idea but its execution was poor. As a material for disinfecting keyboards after they have been cleaned, maybe it's OK but it's a lot of money for cleaning clean things!

Hi all I have just been trying to install a piece of software on the Application Server and i was assured that the software would run from the network. Failing that the software would come with an MSI for each disc. Guess what!! Neither of the above 2 statements are true! The software in question is Cambridge Hitachi's Mult-e-Maths Software and it stinks. The only one that comes with an MSI is the teachers side of things. One of the discs uses a java!? installation routine and the third automatically installs to wherever it finds a copy of the software. On top of this the software requires that you install an activex control on the pc it is running on. Again no MSI for this. Once you install the Activex control as part of the main installation routine you are asked to install it again when you run the software. Secondly if you run it from the network after forcing it to install to a mapped network share you are told you need to add the files into the trusted files settings within Flash Player's Global Settings. This is again a per PC setting and when you have 30 PC's in the ICT Suite and at least 3 machines per classroom this is going to get rather tedious! If anyone hass any suggestions as to how this software can be installed so that it can run from the network without the activex prompts and flash player prompts then pleeaaassseee let me know. I have had the school on my case about this software for months and this New FrameWork Edition that Cambridge Hitachi sent me was supposed to fix all the issues.

Ok in a different thread I was, am having trouble with my Vcentre server so I gave up and now want technical support from VMware... Yay! After logging in and trying to discern what magical combo of clicks will elicit a helpdesk button or number. I get to a page support page that shows nothing but has an KB article telling me how to troubleshoot the reasons why you have no supportable products listed. (rather than showing your product and saying unsupported next to it, it shows no products, clear thanks.) Ok now I'm KBing my way through the technical support guide to why technical support doesn't work..... 1 I do have support, I'm looking at t he receipt till next year, 2 I'm the super user and the account numbers are the same. 3 buy more technical support??!?! Great now I can't remediate VMware technical support is there a technical support for the technical support of course not. I can BUY technical support....So I can buy a technical support query to fix my technical support issues I've paid for... This is fantastic, great job VMware, just Great.

I'm really just grumbling but in 2021 I bought 32 Acer NITRO XV2 monitors. In the last 2 months I've had (so 18 months old) 6 fail on me some are developing black lines others are outright loosing their picture and will not display. The return process is via a form on the Acer website is buggy and sometimes the turn around is 2 months to get a repair, now they claim they are out of warranty. Just annoyed at myself for not sticking to form and buying a business class monitor. btw stock for monitors and prices in 2021 were weird at the time and more basic VA or IPS monitors (with height adjust) were quite expensive. So the cost (£133 ea) and time availability of these justified the purchase.

Trying to install "AVerTouch Win v1.3.2097.0 (msi)" for an avervision F17+ that the English Dept. purchased without consultation. Anyhow above having to download the drivers at 300kb/s (so 20 minute download) the bloody software keeps faulting out saying I have to be an administrator! Well I am an admin so I suspect another issue.. anyone running this software? (I've tried compatibility and Run AS)
