What's to stop another kid going to any pc in the room without logging in and then vandalising it?

Assistant scout leader at a local group... assist with assorting scouting events as part of a small support unit too! Reading, walking (usually to a pub...) with mates - sometimes we go away for a long weekend to the peaks / lakes etc. Model railway up in the loft, and currently finishing decorating the house!

Hi all, Having an issue with one of our servers thats primarily used for our cashless catering. It's a Win 2008 physical server - yesterday finance pointed out they couldn't connect to their catering program. Cashless is still working downstairs however! I attempted to RDP to it and I'm met with "Access Denied". However if I RDP via run > mstsc /admin /v:servername it allows me to connect. Not really sure where to start looking for this one! Any pointers would be greatly received! Edit: In Eventvwr under Security it looks like there are 4 events - 3 logon/1logon but no error in with it J

Our Premises team are pretty good for this... their manager usually makes up some bug/virus that's been going around which is always an anagram of April Fools Day. Sometimes it's a bit more subtle - last half term he was using quite a few acronyms and threw in the TMU.... (totally made up)

"All my other schools gave us the administrator passwords"
eyetea replied to eyetea's topic in General Chat
The statement was made when I needed to pop in to install something on their PC which then prompted for UAC. Half a mind to show her the results of this poll! -
Had a member of staff grumbling today - several bits as per usual but then they went on to state that in all the other schools they've worked in that they (and some other staff like ICT teachers) were given the administrator passwords... My answer was a firm they may have done that but unfortunately we don't. Out of interest how many of you lot give ICT teachers / teachers admin passwords... J
