  1. My list this year: OH: Coat (of her choosing!), standard stocking gifts consisting of choccy, shower/bath stuff, one of those microwaveable plush toys + some grown up colouring books (Sherlock/Harry Potter) - any other small odd bits and bobs I see that I think she'll like get thrown in too! Brother: Super lightweight KFS set for lightweight hiking, something else I dunno of yet! Dad: Going in with brother to get him an impact driver - he's usually mega hard to buy for so we jump when he says he wants/needs something! Mum: Replacement wicker laundry basket as she really liked her old one that broke! Going to put some smellies etc in it too mind! I've asked Father Christmas for some power tools this year... If you want an awesome event based present and around this part of the country (recommend it personally!)... a murder mystery evening... with a 3 course meal... on a steam train!
  2. Whenever we get one of these at home the Mrs manages to pick it up and refuses to hand it to me to let me play
  3. My brother uses one (not sure what model) and he swears by it. He hates having to use his phone if he ever stops over / is on holiday etc
  4. Joined the gym with my brother! Already go swimming 3x a week - however I'm thinking 2 x gym 2x swim a week!
  5. Whacked an SSD into my old laptop that was slow to the point of being unusable. It's obviously not a super speedy machine now but it is perfectly usable, I no longer wish to throw it out the window!
  6. Will send you a PM! I managed to get the drivers + instructions from them.

    Board games!

First few games of Carcassone (we played without doing farms to start) - Mrs really enjoyed it too so good result! Now to wait until pay day!

    Board games!

Ordered Carcasonne! Thinking of ordering Saboteur too (3P min). Popped Ticket to ride Europe on the chrimbo list! Will see how we get on with these, then will look at some more!

    Board games!

Hi all, After some recommendations for board games! Loose criteria: - 2+ players - some need to be 2 player so me and the Mrs can play, but I'd like some that if we have some friends over they can play too! - Relatively easy to grasp - I've played a few games with some friends, but I wouldn't put us down as experienced players! - Needs to fit on our (reasonably) large coffee table! Ones that I'm considering at the mo are: Ticket to Ride (Europe), Carcassone and Rummicub! Ta all! J
  10. Thought I was a big spender taking my mate to top golf (10 quid as he already had a card) and a few pints afterwards! Chrimbo for the Mrs is a bit different - I usually do one largish pressie (this year she want's a winter coat...) and a stocking of stuff like chocs / smelly stuff. Tend to buy the smellies in advance, then tend to get chocs after last payday before Christmas so it's all spread out a bit. Trying to save for a new car so that's where most of my money gets bottled up! (Well disposable income after house stuff!)
  11. Woohoo! Can't wait for the new mug, after days like this, need all the hot char I can get!!!
  12. Sorry for the necro... Emailed sales@ but no reply! Is anyone able to email me the 64 bit driver for the A2+? Cheers! J

    Exams day

Normal holiday start time here as no one has asked anything! (8:30)
  14. Pretty sure I did this with my home PC about 2 years ago as you've said via the registry - certainly didn't re-build it!
  15. We're still hanging on here!
  16. 4 days off over the summer here! (Unless you count going on a training course then it adds another 5 on!)
  17. That's not what the pie shop next to a barbers said!
  18. Normal morning - 3/4 mins on the loo, 5 mins shave(15 mins if I want a decent shave), 10 mins shower. Any tips for starting with a cut throat? Currently use a DE and enjoy it - enjoy going to the barbers every now and then for a proper wet shave! Want to give it a go but I'm a bit nervous!
  19. We fitted downlights in our hallway and spare bedroom and chucked the halogen GU10s out and replaced them with Screwfix's warm whites. Spare room is approx 4x3m and we have 6 in there. Just worth being aware that with downlights sometimes you won't be able to get them in the perfect place! Joists always seem to be in exactly the wrong place!
  20. Slight necro sorry... Thinking about getting one myself - are any of these suitable to "hide" behind my rear view mirror? I'm not fussed about running hard wired power up to it, I'd just like to have it hidden from my sight when I'm driving!
  21. 2.5" HDD Shooting down at the range? PULL!
  22. Picked up one of these as a test unit with the idea that the master would be the teacher's desktop PC, and the slaves would be monitor, amp + printer if they had one. We came across the issue that our PCs weren't drawing enough power to keep the slave sockets on. If I connected an extension to the master and ran the screen + PC it was fine - however it defeated the point of getting the screen to power off rather than stand-by. I've ordered one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/OneClick-DSK105-Intelliplug-Desktop-Version/dp/B000MPJSL0/ref=sr_1_2?s=diy&ie=UTF8&qid=1435137193&sr=1-2&keywords=OneClick which supposedly is meant to work with a desktop. Anyone have any other good energy saving tips? Bursar / Premises manager on a bit of a vendetta at the mo as they recently attended an eco conference.
  23. I have a box on a shelf... it's contents are: Micropore tape Several blunt pencils (no sharpener) Bag of rubber bands (old enough so they've mostly perished and won't stretch) What looks like a table height adjusting handle, though I haven't seen any height adjustable tables here... Box of staples, no stapler Sellotape dispenser, no sellotape Box of permanent markers (these actually work!)

Thanks for the useful replies - will pass some notes back to bursar / site manager

    Air con

Is there an ideal temperature for Air Con in server rooms / edge cab cupboards? Our Bursar / Site Manager went to an eco meeting yesterday evening and are wondering if we can get away with turning any of it off / down (temp up!) If you have air con, what is yours set to? Cheers, J
