Postcards from Pripyat, Chernobyl on Vimeo I know some of the photos around are set up like dolls / gas masks in rooms etc, but it's still so eerie!

Our office has a numlock on the door, Site team, Director of ICT for learning, line manager and us have the code! Termtime: Always open if one of us is in the room, closed/locked when no one is in here (Only exception for door being open is in the case of if we're discussing sensitive info / really need to focus on something critical) Holiday: Always open, no one really around apart from us!

It's times like this when I get on my phone... "Daaaaaad" (Or sometimes the "in law" but I don't call him Dad! ) We had a reasonably bad leak under the sink when we moved in to our place this summer that we only found as there was a not quite as bad leak on the hot pipe! Rung up the Mrs' Dad and he was over within the hour, and sorted it within 30mins!

I blame my hammer-struck finger (admittedly I can now use it to press keys again without wincing!!!)

I like to celebrate Christmas even though I don't think I'm religious (idk what I believe in if anything). However Christmas for me has always been a very family / friends orientated time where we all come together, like exchanging gifts to see the recipients reaction etc etc

I find it impossible to believe if they do start snooping it will be 100% for legitimate purposes and as witch has said where will it end? How long before it's in pubs etc? Was it 1984 where they couldn't turn the TV off and it had a camera / microphone in it?

Sure it's not just teachers saying they've turned the PC's off? That's what happens here!

I quite getting the Mrs some jewellery from Etsy, often try to find some nice hand made stuff on there! Downside is a lot of it comes from the US/Canada so delivery times can be longer, and I usually have to pay a bit for customs!

I agree with this, I think if you get a person in a car the service seems a lot worse than a if you get a person in a company van Haven't heard of that one before! Did it get recycled or were you lucky!!!

Do you have a notice / slip saying it was left in the porch? Take pics of said "porch" and send them to the vendor, explaining that it's the entrance to 12 flats and completely unsecure and that you never received your package. Surely they will then obliged to send another one - I'm sure they can recoup the cost from Yodel as they left it in an unsecure location?

Another courier story... Parcelforce this time! Attempted delivery, card through door. Nearest depot +40mins away, option to delivery to local post office for a quid. I ring up go through automated system, doesn't list any post offices but still tells me to choose one! I start mashing buttons and finally I get through to a lady, an actual living human being! Talk to her, she arranges it to be delivered to the nearest post office, so I'm happy and expecting to pop there in the next 2 days. Get home the next day, my neighbour dings on the bell and lo and behold they've delivered it to him.. after speaking to an actual person that's told me it's going to the post office!

Backs up to SAN, the hosts seem to have enough space! Tried to access one VM's restore points today and was able to.. Have logged a ticket with Veeam now our support contract has been renewed, will update as and when.

Obviously not for this Christmas but... Do what my mum tends to do - in January when all the Christmas stuff gets knocked down she goes and buys "expensive" crackers when they're cheap!

Another VM has joined the above list!

Seen a house with lights and decs up near ours..! Will be a little strange this Christmas - my partner and I have moved in together the latter part of this year (both of use were living with our respective parents before). My parents are retiring next year, and currently their job comes with a live in house which has been my family home for the best part of a decade. I think my partner and I are spending up until about 10:30 - 11ish together in our house, then this year we're going to our respective parents, then starting next year we'll take turns at my parents one year, hers next!

I've enjoyed replaying Plants Vs Zombies recently! With casual games like that I'd recommend getting 4-5 of them as they get repetitive for me! -
Hi all, Another thing I've never had any real experience with! We use Veeam as our backup solution here, and up until now I have only used it to restore kids work, any probs my old boss would sort it out! Unfortunately for me he's gone and I'm probably on my own till at least the new year now Within the last week, Veeam has failed to back 3 of our VM's up, each of these 3 failing with the message Error: Client Error: Incorrect Function. Failed to read data from the file [PATH]. I'm also now unable to restore anything from these 3 VM's, including a backup points that I knew was working last week when I had to use it to get some work back! Gives the error MountRestorePoint failed, mountId 'id' FlrManagementService: Failed to mount restore point (MountId:id) Mount failed Client error: Incorrect function. Pic attached of error screenshot when trying to open a restore point from affected VM's All of the other VM's have backed up successfully and I am able to access files from them all. Any help would be gratefully received! J

Pics are amazing. Dunno why but these kind of things seem to give me the shivers! Perhaps because it's so awe inspiring, not sure!

Good luck! I hate couriers now! A friend shipped me some home brewed beer from Sweden (He has a micro brewery out there now!) and I had a missed delivery notification... depot was about 40mins away so tried to get it delivered to local post office (Additional £1), the list didn't work so in the end I actually spoke to a human operator. All arranged for it to be dropped at the post office... come home the next day and our neighbour pops in with the parcel, they delivered it again the next day!

Hadn't seen (heard!) that!
