I used to work for a primary school and we had a 1:1 scheme. Pros Students could use them in class and the single IT suite was turned into flexible classroom which then would test equipment to eventually go into other classrooms Cons Parents didn't pay for the devices, lots cancelled the direct debit payment. Parents would not pay for damages Multiple cases of older siblings/parents using the laptops for 18 plus content After about two years of issues, the school refunded the parents that had paid any payments and the laptops were kept at school in charging trolleys. This worked much better and had less damages.

I work in an (non school) office and its fully air conditioned. I stupidly decided to do a project day from home...... 5 ice creams already today and I'm still far too hot!

As a knuckle dragger myself I could say something about photography being for nerds/geeks but I wont as I enjoy it too. After school clubs are run by numbers and teachers time as others have said. If he's enjoying it so much then get him and his fellow club members to meet up after school taking photos in your local area. Photography is something that can be done by one or more. He'd probably learn 5x more doing photography for himself by trial and error. He will also have more free reign on what he wants to do.

Gone are the days I used Pro Plus after getting in from an all nighter and going to work a few hours later My 2015 Dell XPS has lasted 10 years and if I can get to the bottom of its current issues then it should last a few more. I cant upgrade to Windows 11 its not liked the CPU and support for Windows 10 ends later this year.... Given the naming titles, I think someone at Dell is an Apple fan.....

The company I work for has exactly this in our server room. We have four cabs Servers all at the bottom and then just like the photo for many switches.

Most criminals dont rob on their own doorsteps..... I have a faraday box at home for key fob and wallet plus a pouch for when I'm at work/out near car. My key fob works from the other side of the work car park so without the box/pouch at home, it'll be easy to see the signal.

Google maps can do it as said above. I do it for myself when out running, share my location with my mum so she can see where I am if I get into difficulty. Just make sure you use a school Google account on a school phone. Whats App can do broadcast channels so the school could set one (or many) up and those on trips could admin the channel(s) which they can send real time info on what they are up to. Parents can subscribe and only react to the message. Its all the rage for Football teams at the moment.

When I was at secondary school, the uniform was black shoes, black socks, black trousers, white shirt, school tie and blazer. If anyone wasn't wearing black socks, then the school would give them a pair of black socks to wear. Im sure many parents told their children to wear coloured socks to get free socks! Nobody was punished for the socks but if we didnt have shoes, tie and blazer then it'll be a dentention. There is a private school in the town I live in which has buildings over the town centre, the students have to wear full uniform whilst walking between which is brown shoes, brown trousers, blue shirt. school tie and a black/red striped blazer with a cream wide brimmed hat with school colours on the band. They also have school branded coats for winter! I have seen some of the younger years wearing a slightly different uniform so maybe they are changing it up. The thing that bothered me was the staff 'uniform' in all the schools I worked at. Females got away with wearing anything whilst I had to wear trousers, shirt and tie at all times. But Im no longer working in a school and can wear what i like at all times

I've not seen any good deals but stuff in my save and compare on Amazon seems to have tanked in price since yesterday but are not showing as black Friday deals! I use the save and compare as a price checker/reorder list for stuff I buy regularly. If I'm shopping and see a deal in Tesco on a product, I always check against the save and compare list. I had a pair of compression shorts in the list and they were priced at £50 yesterday and today they are £24 but no song and dance about it being a black friday deal. I assume it probably is though.

In SE Kent, its just been a tad windy and wet. The roads on the other hand have been a nightmare due to crashes and the M20 being used as a car park.

The company I work for had a similar issue. Our Macs are AD bound managed by Mosyle. The issue for us was that our aniti virus protection and Monterey. As soon as any machine didn't have anti virus then it would log in etc, with it installed it took forever to log in. We also had it on Ventura. Our software engineers wrote a script that basically stopped the antivirus running until after the user logged in and connected to the internal network. So far we have had no issues!
