  1. I use https://www.weee-recycleit.co.uk/ Free for laptops etc, only a small charge for large screens.
  2. Over the past couple of years I've had some many issues with TES as a whole. All staff, at all of our schools had their Educare logins reset At one school, SchoolCloud got cancelled without any explanation and took two weeks to enable it again. Another school signed up to their Provision Map in March. Still waiting for it to be set up. On the plus side, I am cancelling SchoolCloud at one school as it's not needed now they have Involve set up.
  3. Really happy. Quality of print, speed of device, less power consumption. Feels like a no brainer
  4. I have the search term "google doodles" blocked 😁
  5. Looks good. I've got to the stage where I would be happy with a dumb phone that also had WhatsApp as that is what I use the most.
  6. Both of my daughters went to state schools and I was a governor of one of them. I've worked in independent schools for 16 years and have seen many high profile pupils during this time. There is no way a Royal or other high profile child could have a normal education in most state schools.
  7. Again, depends on pupil numbers, but for one of my schools with 350 pupils, it's 4 figures.
  8. I don't want to go into specifics as there are a few variables. But, for one of our schools, by the time I have cancelled multiple other packages (SOCS, School Cloud, Room Booking, and ISAMS modules), it's only costing a bit more. Now, that might go against a lot of common thoughts about saving money, but the time savings over the year will more than cover that. Plus, the parent experience has been improved so much more. We've also found a vast reduction in parents contacting us with basic questions. I'm probably not doing it any justice typing a few words on a forum. I have been so impressed with the product and the team behind it. I highly recommend reaching out to them, drop me a PM, and I'll pass on their contact details.
  9. Mostly faces with no names for a long time anyway, if name it was only every first name. Going forward, will be looking at lower res pictures.
  10. Have a chat with @VeryPC
  11. Lots of places on booking.com include parking spots. Also, have a look at just park for spaces, as I have found these can be cheaper (and more convenient) for overnight stays. Personally, I would get the train from Swansea to Paddington and then the Tube across town.
  12. Yes, over 18 months and really pleased with them across our 7 schools. Drop me a message if you want any more info, and I'll put you in touch with the company that looks after them for us.
  13. That's the plan
  14. Over the years have used MRBS, Google Sheet, Google Calendar, Room Booking (TES) and now moving over to Invole Education
  15. Sort of related to this. I need to buy 8 x Android (sim free) phones. Might get Galaxy A16S as they are only £99 each. Just need them for taking pictures on trips, sport fixtures etc. Thoughts?
  16. That looks like a 3rd party app that has been installed. Have a look at manage apps on this page https://drive.google.com/drive/settings
  17. Bluetooth printer for 5 years no issues unless the iPad is not plugged in at night and shuts down. Then, when it comes back on, the printer does not auto connect. Power cycle the printer and it's fine. Only happens once or twice a term and staff know what to do.
  18. After years of using SOCS for wraparound and clubs, I've just moved one school over to Involve and love it.
  19. A week into going live and very happy so far! Loads of new features still to explore and make use of. Planned to have a part launch with the other features going live for September.
  20. The other option, slightly more controversial, is using a VPN to connect to an Albanian server, which can block YouTube ads because Google has limited ad inventory in that region
  21. I find that this Chrome extension stops just about all adverts https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/adguard-adblocker/bgnkhhnnamicmpeenaelnjfhikgbkllg
  22. Nice work and top suggestion.
  23. Both of my daughters' cars have had a recall, 2008 Astra and 2007 Polo, airbags on both of them. As a suggestion, if you have a min to late 2000s VW or Vauxhall, check the Mot website as that will tell you about outstanding recalls.
  24. I bet you could get Canva AI to make up a template website that would do this. Then you only have to load a webpage on the DS
  25. I've signed up. I spoke with a couple of schools, and some good things were said about them.
