Photographs from mobile phones

Was talking about the improved quality of photos from phone cameras earlier with a few people from work.

 

So how about a gallery of photos taken strictly from mobile phones? Took this earlier during a lunchtime stroll down the park and must say my Nokia N8 does capture lighting and colour superbly for a mobile phone camera. Really captures the early 'Autumn Glow' alongside the greenery in the sun.

 

And that's the beauty of mobile phone photography. Whilst dedicated cameras will always get better results in the right hands. The chances are you won't have your camera when you 'see' a photograph!

These were all done on iPhone 4S with a 12x Optical Zoom lens (again, always in my pocket!) using the NightModes app to control exposure etc...

Not just the quality of photos, but the ease of post-processing as well. These are all around Windermere, April this year, Nexus 4:

HDR on, I suspect, but no other editing.

The new Sony camera that looks just like lens that are to be used with tablets or smartphones. Look to be rather interesting for the more serious photographer that wants a decent point and shoot, without carrying two big devices.

This one was for an online tournament I occasionally take part in. I had completely forgotten about the deadline, was at work at the time and needed something quick. Decided to play the "arty-farty" card lol (not usually my style) but was impressed with the clarity from my Samsung GS3, and it got me through the first round to my surprise:

Now I must admit, I'm not one for taking serious photos on my phone but it is really handy to have a decent camera for snapshots or scenes that you'd otherwise miss. This last one I share not because I think it's great quality (it isn't bad considering I used no flash, I doubt my P&S would have managed much better) but because it's one of those moments I'd have missed had it not been for my phone:

Ok its not one picture but to have a camera/app that can link images is great. I'll admit, in certain conditions the iphone camera is better than my normal compact, s we found when in Yorks railway museum
