  1. Hi all, anyone else having issues with update: KB5026372. It's affecting most of our W11 laptops, once it's installed and restarts, the laptop won't boot past the manufacture logo. This is after Bitlocker and successfully entering the bitlocker code. Non of the recovery options are working. Only options it rebuild laptop and then it's only a matter of time before the update installs. Cheers!

  3. https://www.mi.com/uk Xiaomi = a lot of bang for your buck
  4. I'll consider putting it out in September 2022 or maybe an IT room for testing. I've got it running on a 2013 (8 years old) HP. Note: I think Windows PC health Checker for W11 will automatically state your PC is not compatible unless you have TPM switched on, and this took two BIOS updates in my case, so I can't see spec being an issue for most of us!?!
  5. Just testing W11 on an old HP. Spec isn't much of an issue according to Microsoft - see below - it's just a faff updating all BIOS on 350 PC's!!! (this test PC required 2 BIOS updates to make it W11 compatible). Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster with two or more cores on a compatible 64-bit processor or system on a chip (SoC). RAM: 4 gigabytes (GB) or greater. Storage: 64 GB* or greater available storage is required to install Windows 11. Additional storage space might be required to download updates and enable specific features. Graphics card: Compatible with DirectX 12 or later, with a WDDM 2.0 driver. System firmware: UEFI, Secure Boot capable. TPM: Trusted Platform Module (TPM) version 2.0. Display: High definition (720p) display, 9" or greater monitor, 8 bits per color channel.
  6. Thanks for the info, I'll get cracking!
  7. Nope, I disabled the LTSC image and enabled the Edu image, still nowt. Would using MDT be a more up to date method of deploying W10? Cheers
  8. Hello all, I hope someone can help.. I have recently created a new W10 Edu image, sysprepped it and uploaded it to the WDS server. I did this before but with an LTSC image and that worked fine. However, the W10 edu image will not show during setup, any ideas why that could be? All previous Images work fine, is Edu that much different to LTSC that I might need to sort drivers or make a new boot image? Cheers!
  9. amazing spot, this worked! Now I just need to create a link that staff can access Cheers
  10. I see, so did you use a different method? are your staff working from Docs stored OneDrive (which is my ultimate goal) Thanks
  11. Same for me, working on it this week...
  12. Good afternoon all, We are currently trialing Edulink and so far, we think it is great. I'd love to get this in place but SLT are hung up on one particular feature and that is detentions. At the moment we have one type of detention, in the main hall, if you get a detention you go there. Up to 90 mins per day over 3x30min sessions. We can re create this which is good, however, if you want give a naughty pupil a detention, who already has quite a few detentions you have to keep trying to apply one until it you find a free slot. This could take a while.. So how do others go about detentions in Edulink (or even SIMS for that matter as the process is the same). We use PARS and think we had this feature added by request. Any help most appreciated. Cheers
  13. As in school google account? (we have gsuite here)
  14. NIce one all. I have given access to all to use Chrome. I think the only issue raised is that it didn't remember settings such as favourites. Can this be modified? Cheers - - - Updated - - - Will this be available for W10 Enterprise LTSC? Cheers
  15. Hi all, What are folk using as their default sitewide web browser? I'm on Windows 10 LTSC which doesn't have access to Edge apparently, so I'm stuck using IE which is gradually becoming more and more of a burden. Cheers!
  16. Good Morning all, Sorting out my toner store and come across loads of toners for an HP3800 colour laser printer. It's probably a long shot being it's an ancient printer... but if anyone has one and wants some toner collectible from Solihull then get in touch. Cheers
  17. New phone time and I'm a cheap skate so should go for Honor 8x or Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite? Basically is it worth spending the extra £50 on extra storage and 2GB of RAM? Honor 8x spec; Rear Camera Quality 20 Megapixel Front Facing Camera Quality 16 Megapixel Screen size 6.5 Inches Screen Resolution 2340x1080 Pixels Operating System Android 8.0 Oreo Processor Type Kirin 710 Processor Speed 2.2GHz RAM 4GB Onboard Storage 64GB Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite: Rear Camera Quality Dual 12 and 5 Megapixel Front Facing Camera Quality 24 Megapixel Screen size 6.26 Inches Screen Resolution 2280 x 1080 Pixels Operating System Android 8.0 Oreo Processor Type Snapdragon 660 Processor Speed 2.2GHz RAM 6GB Anyone used either of these phones? Sorry to drag up old thread but
  18. It's all a bit confusing! (It's also no really my job but the data manager is off at the moment). What I'm trying to achieve is that I only have current members of staff active but also that only current active members of staff show on Insight (our parent portal). I have about 250 extra accounts on there that shouldn't be there, but, I can't tell why some ex staff members are appearing on Insight and some others aren't. At this moment I'm exploring the possibility that it's the role that is enableing them an account in Insight, as it could be that if their Role has Ex Employee, then I don;t think they appear. I could be wrong though. I think I'll just log a call actually
  19. Thanks, I think it's also down to dates, they don't seem to appear until I have put in a start/end date. Thanks for your help, I can now crack on with this.
  20. Just one more question though, for some reason I can;t find some staff in system manager, although I can find them from the homepage search. Any ideas on that? Thanks again
  21. Thanks so much, looked everywhere apart from there! This will give admin something extra to do for the next 2 weeks! Cheers
  22. I thought this would have been obvious, but apparently not! I'm having the same issue as someone else whereby the If the Service Agreement box is filled in, even with an end date and and end date in Employment Dates, their accounts are still active. This is an issue because in theory they can access Insight, which is accessible from anywhere. Cheers peeps!
  23. Sorry to drag up an old thread, but how do you just disable them? I'm having the same issue as someone else whereby the If the Service Agreement box is filled in, even with an end date and and end date in Employment Dates, their accounts are still active. Cheers
  24. The amount of error strewn stuff that gets sent out from my school is farcical. We spent over £500 in texts to parents issuing apologies and corrections. It gives the whole school a bad name when things don't get proof read.
  25. I bought some radiator covers for my narrow hallways. That in itself isn't that stupid. It's when I tried to cut them down and cut off the wrong sides that was stupid. Had to glue them all back together and start again. that was 3 years ago and I've just not bothered. Edit: Don't buy fancy radiator covers for narrow hallways. It's pointless!
