  1. Thanks. I better be careful, I was messing about with send connectors and managed to stop all outgoing external emails... whoops. Promptly deleted that particular connector and all is back on track!
  2. The Exchange server is relaying emails internally. When parents want to change email address in Insight, we get a notification on our Helpdesk email. Exchange doesn't appear to relay emails for password resets that would be emailed to the parent using Hotmail etc. The error appears on Insight when a parent tries to reset password. Once I've discovered the command to try and relay an email from powershell, I'm hoping that will throw up a better error message. Cheers!
  3. Thanks for replying, running exchange 2010. We already had receive connector called "Internal Relay for Internal servers" so I just added our Insight IP to that. I've also just created a Custom receive connector for only our Insight server following a guide. No luck yet, but I'll give it a whirl tomorrow in case it's just taking it's time to synch.
  4. It is indeed, but we get a relay error, so something is up with Exchange not allowing it....
  5. Sorry to drag up old thread, but do you have it setup so they can reset their password automatically also? Cheers
  6. Hello, We have our Insight server setup to notify us on various things like when a user wants to change email address. This works fine and we receive the notification... But for password resets it throws up an error about relaying. I'm just reading up on this and it looks like we have enabled this on our exchange server, but it's still not working. The Insight server is local. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  7. I just got a monthly update from papercut. I worked it out that we average 10,000 pages a day (staff only). Now, without the photocopier lease agreement and - let's say - 1p per print out, that's £20,000 per year (39 weeks, 5 days a week). I would love to put it to the school business manager that I could save them at least £10k a year if you give me £5k pay rise! Edit: cost of paper not included too.
  8. are you drunk?
  9. I reckon you got a couple of years before interest rates go up, but, Now is the best time ever to get a mortgage and you can get help and a possible 95% LTV. And remember it's all about location if you want to move up. Save a bit more but don't wait too long.
  10. I dunno, but our science department does about 35,000 pages a MONTH! with some other departments not far behind that. Mental.
  11. You know society is failing when laws are passed where it it should just be socially unacceptable.
  12. I got a Jägermeister condom at a gig once. The band were sponsored by them so they were giving all sorts of their stuff away.
  13. We had one done for our caterers, which I thought would be the perfect time to explain that; they do their best with the stuff they got, but the food is rubbish (everyone thinks this). But everyone responded saying it was fine! mental! (|I don't know if anyone saw my thread which showed my "chicken wrap")
  14. Aiming for Div 1 squash and Div 1 tennis in my leagues and hopefully a quick 30 mile bike ride a week. That should earn me a beer at the weekends!
  15. I think it was down to a combination of things; cold weather, just been on holiday, short drives to work, a failed start that drained the battery. Since I've had the battery in I can't remember having an issue up until now.. I'm hoping it will be ok from now on.
  16. Wicked! Took for a big spin last night around 10pm, hit the motorway and all that. Started first time! Hopefully that'll do it!
  17. Cheers for your help. I've had the car 4 years and I've spent a total of about £300 on repairs, not bad for a car 14 years old and cost less than a grand! I'm hoping I can get through this winter and summer then time for another car, but I imagine this one will plough through for a couple more years yet.
  18. Good info here guys, fingers crossed for tomorrow. I'm sure I put my receipt somewhere so will have a look later for it, I know the battery has a 3 year warranty on it. I can't help thinking there there must be an underlying issue that makes the battery have to work twice as hard to start the car, other than it's freezing cold!
  19. You all seem to have missed my second and also deliberate mistake, which loads of people make. Then, where there should be a than! edit: needed a gif
  20. Cheers for the info. I only do about 6miles on the way to work so not getting a good run. Last winter was quite mild, just waiting for this cold snap to stop. I might resort to parking it on a hill, which is about half a mile away so if I can't get it started, I can bump it.
  21. Sorry I forgot to mention, the battery is about 16 months old, but I think it's just taken a battering the last few starts. It's 4cyl 318i.
  22. Hi all, I know there's a few petrol heads on here so... My car (BMW E36 1998 coupe) is having a right paddy trying to start in the cold mornings. It almost went this morning after reading the wiki-how on cold starting and another tip such as turning ignition on/off a few times to get the battery juices flowing. But in the end, I still had to jump start it. Are there other things I can do to help get it going - and I've also been looking at heaters... Cheers chaps/chapettes
  23. I almost always loose my temper when I see these so its better to just delete them rather then getting mad
  24. I got a handmade chesterfield from one of a few companies in Manchester which is ace and can be made to measure for about half the price of the main shops. I also got an amazing one of a kind patchwork sofa from eBay (new) for £700 - other places were at least a grand so I wouldn't rule out eBay. And of course going local can be good.
