The best way is to add your own domain as an allowed domain in Office 365 (Exchange admin centre ->Spam Filter ->Default policy)

Hi All Within the Student - Teacher view in SIMS, parent email addresses are shown as links which should open the configured email client when clicked. However when staff try to click on these links a yellow circle with an exclamation mark in it appears in the bottom left of the page and says 'Mail Client is not configured' We've been in touch with Capita but they haven''t been able to help and simply point the finger at Microsoft. The mail clients on our computers appear to be correctly configured to be the default option so I'm at a bit of a loss as to where the problem is. Has anyone else had this problem and managed to fix it? Thanks

[sims] Urgent Capita SIMS Data Issue - Issued by childrens services

It sure is! It's an oxymoron when it comes to Capita, but I suppose 'Damage Limitation Manager' is probably a bit too close to home! -
[sims] Urgent Capita SIMS Data Issue - Issued by childrens services
truebluesteve replied to vikpaw's topic in MIS Systems
I knew nothing about this issue until I got an email from our Data Manager when I was on holiday in Mallorca last week - have heard nothing from Capita at all even though they 'support' us directly. Their response to the issue in terms of liability and communication has confirmed what I have always thought about the organisation. The plus side is that it will hopefully give me some ammunition in my quest to get our SLT to look at some better and cheaper alternatives to SIMS. Finally what the flying fox is a 'Customer Success Manager'? -
Hello All I'm sure this has been done to death, and for that I apologise in advance but I'm about to decide on our new ISP and its likely to be either RM or Schools Broadband, and I wondered if any of you had experiences, good or bad, that they could share to help the the decision making process. We have Smoothwall hosted locally so there won't be any filtering done by the ISP, so its just bog standard connectivity that I'm getting Obviously if you know of a super amazing ISP then let me know too! Thanks

Well your mobile phone won't have any policies or the same hardware as the Unify setup - are there any logs on the Wireless controller or AP's you can look at. My issue initially started with one device (a Surface Pro 4) and then just recently started to affect almost everything else that was running Windows 10 - and yet they were all at the same build level, so go figure!

Do you have any device access policies in place on your Wi-Fi? I had an issue where lots of our Windows 10 laptops stopped connecting to our Ruckus 802.1x wlan where we had a device access policy in place. The policy only allowed Windows devices to connect to that WLAN, and at some point it stopped being able to recognise Windows 10 devices, so it blocked them from joining. Just a thought

SIMS is hardly bug free looking at the number of SOLUS 3 patch notifications I get! :-)
-
I'm thinking about the same - SIMS is bloated and slow and the support that we get is mediocre at best considering the huge amount of money we pay Capita each year. The majority of staff use the MIS for a limited set of functions so re-training them wouldn't be a huge concern, although power users (Options, Timetables etc.) would need more obviously. I do have concerns about the systems that link into SIMS to extract data (mainly via Groupcall Xporter) and whether other systems can do the same.

We have used schoolbooking.com for a number of years and allows for SIMS and AD integration. We use it to book rooms, iPads and so on. Its not free but it isn't expensive for the amount of use it gets here

Well now pointless celebrities have twice as many characters to enlighten us mere mortals with their words of wisdom! -
Flat/House Share Possessions Insurer Recommendations
truebluesteve replied to elsiegee40's topic in General Chat
I know Endsleigh do insurance for students accommodation so I suspect that they may well do it for other shared accommodation. The cover my son has for his room was good and pretty cheap so worth a try I'd say
