Hay everyone. I'm wondering if anyone has migrated from FMS Cloud to Arbour Access for their finance package? We have a scenario where a school is moving from ESS FMS Cloud to Arbor Access and it seems to be playing out like so: - Arbor say they cannot import any historical info from FMS and the Access system will start fresh with the key financial numbers keyed in - ESS will offer a copy of the FMS SQL database before it's deleted but no method of accessing it but suggest they have met their obligation of handing the school their "data" HMRC say finance data needs to be retained for 6 years plus the current academic year. Is just a raw (essentially inaccessible) SQL database backup enough here? If a school suddenly get financially audited at any point and are asked for specifics, what happens here? There must be other schools that have been through this?

[sims] Nova-T - Prompting for a license file every time it's opened?
Rawns posted a topic in MIS Systems
My Nova-T knowledge is rusty at best and while this rings bells I've hit a wall. There is a small annoying issue with Nova-T after a SIMS server migration where Nova-T now prompts for a license file every time it is ran. The license file can be browsed to and selected and then Nova-T opens and works just fine, however previously Nova-T just opened straight away. It's more of an annoyance for the user than anything else and I can't recall if there is a setting in Nova-T to point it directly to the license file, or if there is an entry that can be added in the SIMS.INI file of the workstation to do the same? Any pointers appreciated! -
[sims] Unknown integration application - Keep Kids Safe v6.06?
Rawns replied to Rawns's topic in MIS Systems
That's great, thanks @chris_uk! -
Has anyone come across this application before? It's clearly plugged into SIMS but can't for the life of me see any detail of who provides it? Naturally a google of 'Keep Kids Safe' turns up a thousand results and even looking for other keywords turns up a blank!

New Edge silent installer for RMM deployment to Windows 10?

Knew there must be one somewhere! Thanks fella! -
Now that the new Edge has been made available, has anyone found a unattended installer for use in deploying to windows 10 using an RMM solution?

Yep - I don't get it either! I know it does odd things in the Census area if the display is set to more than 100% - seems it affects this too!!!

We've just had a school report this issue also. Did you get anywhere with a fix for it? Edit: Fixed. Wino 10 device: - Set to 150% for display - Region set to US Changed to 100% and UK and the button was suddenly usable!

Is there? Another to add to the list then! I've also found out there is a dedicated Windows update proxy: updateproxy.swgfl.org.uk -
Has anyone managed to get the default iPad mail app working from behind a SonicWALL box? E-mail via other devices works just fine (and via the 365 portal), and I would have presumed that the only traffic to/from the app would have been mail related so not blocked in any way. I've white-listed the whole of the Apple IP range (17.0.0.1 - 17.255.255.254) so that filtering/DPI does not get in the way but still no joy....

I've had to set up a basic web server in IIS to host a couple of basic HTML web pages and a security certificate so that non-domain/guest devices can download and install the certificate so they can use the internet at site. All is working well, except for a small issue of when you click on the link to download the Certificate, it opens the certificate as plain text in the web browser instead of actually downloading it? I've added in the *cer extension as a MIME type (application/x-x509-ca-cert). is there a setting in IIS I've missed to make the certificate "download" rather than open as text?

Staff and Students have a Espresso shortcut on their desktops. Their default browser is Chrome however recently, some users find that if they double click the Espresso shortcut, Chrome launches but only opens the default "New Tab" (eg, the Google search page). If the Espresso shortcut is then double clicked again with Chrome still open, the Espresso site does load however in a new tab. I've tried the usual Chrome reset, clear all browsing data, created a new test account etc - all to no avail. It only seems to affect Chrome too as if you change the default browser to IE, Espresso opens immediately. Anyone seen this before?
