    Hi All, How do other schools cope/deliver usernames and passwords etc to pupils We have the following CC4, Moodle, Office 365 (These all use same username and password link by AD) We also have Show my homework , doodle, Active Learn I am finding it difficult to manage all these usernames etc and the best way to deliver them to pupils and staff.     I have been asked to look in to a way that we can have a Button/page/link on our computers accesable only to staff that will when pressed/clicked it will send a predefind alert to a central machine in the man office. It must give the TEachers name Computer name and location Has any got anything like that at there school would prefer free very cheap. Thanks Stuart

    Our IT teacher was telling us this week adter we had smoothwall installed on site Teacher to pupil: What do you think a company should do to their APP to make it more secure?? Pupil to Teacher: Put "Smoothwall" on it. Teacher: Why? Pupil: Because it blocks anything we want to do...!!!!! Teacher: Then the Job is done? SMoothwall +10 Stuart

    Well I Am old school, I was first School IT tech in the Wirral back in 1988 Good old Nimbus and BBC's so I am happy to be Old School, lot less pressure then as no-one new what a real computer was.

    Hi Like a lot of you we now have a lot of websites we use in the school environment SMHW, Doodle, Moodle, Smoothwall, Ruckus Etc Plus all internal devices management pages and ofcourse servers How do people access there sites,devices easily, I have favourites and shortcuts setup but wondered if any had an admin toolbar or something that has all the devices and websites they use on an easy access front end. I can create a webpage with all the links on but if I want to mod it it means opening adding the to the page. I was hoping for something I can add to quickly and easily. And that might be part of my windows 7 desktop like a widget. Stuart

    The Web link Synchronizing your directory with Office 365 is easy - Office Blogs will not load. Do you need to have Azure everything i look at seems to imply this.

    We are discussing here moving our pupils to office 365 so that EVERYONE is on one mail provider. Our staff All ready on o365 What do we need to link o365 to AD so that it syns users and passwords and creates email accounts etc for us. I have alimited budget or are we best going with a compnay like iamcloud are there any other companies that provide this type of help and support. We are a RM cc4.3 network with Windows 2008r2 servers Thanks Stuart

    We have just had SM installed and love it I have one question i want to ask her before i goto smooth wall support We have several ipads that staff use and are on our wifi but when we look at the logs it only shows the IP of the device and not the name The teachers do not need to authenticate on to filter it is all ready setup up to allow them on. Is there any way we can setup smoothwall so it shows the device name and not just ip or do we need to authenticate the users to get that info. Stuart

    Hi have just had smoothwall fitted and I need to dens out a https certificate to all ipads. Can this be done VIA Meraki using the Credentials settings or is done in another profile? Thanks

    We had Smootwall fitted yesterday on site and boy what a difference it has made in 24hrs. Only problem we had was it filtered out our behaviour management website IRISwhich the staff thought was very funny, quick fix. Very profesonial install and instructions and help from the SMoothwall engineer Olua Stuart

    It does seem to be to good to be true I HAve just spoken to the head of sales and it seems to do what is says out of box think I am going for 14 day trail, only issue getting local data up to onedrive. but with may discount off for 198 staff it only £498 per yr for 3yr contract +

    We have been asked by a company to install something from a usb pen to allow them to remote to server and install there software. I do not want to name comapny at moment as we a in other contracts. The usb boot to grub installer and then when it try to run on the server it crashs with the following screens. We tried on another server same model does same thing If we try on a normal workstation it works find and boots thru to company's install menu We are not sure what going on if it is a bios config problem as the server has been running esxi 5.xx in the past no problem. Any thing we can do to bios to see if it is a bios config error. I have attached screenshots

    We have used them on and off over the last 2 years andi have used them for personal, Never had a problem and nothing a problem to sort out.

    We have been asked to look at our MIS intergration with Moodle. We currently have a company WA software doing the integration, we are coming up to renewal and are looking at alternatives and prices. Does anyone recommend any other compaines/software the allows mis integration inculding write back for registers/monitoring and assement Thanks in advance Stuart Purvis

    We have to expand and add more stoarge to a 3 disk Raid 5 VD on our MegaRaid LSI controller. We have a spare slot and a new drive Q1) Can this been do from LSI Megastorage MAnager Q2) Do we use the migrate RAID5 to RAID5 and add new drive as we cannot seem to find an option to just expand VD Any help please Stuart

    We are looking at playing around with server2012 r2 and are looking for a cheap server new or 2nd hand /recon We do not want to go down vm route anyone know of any thing being sold anyway

    I did and then would you believe it the hard drive died/messed up I need to reformat and hopeful it will have restored time capsule backup when I get back in tomorrow.
